i dont know when they made it to be like that but right now, you can just park the boat. once it stands still it will never move. only thing to do is maybe putting a workbench next to it to deny spawn. however when youre not in the area, its not even loaded so nothing can happen anyways.

I have more problems with the "Grey Family" coming and destroying my boat at night. I live in the ghetto and you just can't have anything nice! ;-)

Build a fence around it. I built a dock and I build high walls so the badies can't see the boat.

Patience, vikings. Ropes and anchors can be crafted from the hair and fingernails of the final boss.

Dude my boats was killed by leeches somehow and now I have to wait for help these things are like fucking paper with how easily they die

New to the game but couldn't you just destroy the boat and store the resources in a chest until you need it again?

The only way to destroy the boat in valheim is to hit it with your axe or sword. You can't deconstruct like other structures in the game

I don't think that this is an issue anymore. Yeah, the boats don't float away anymore. I used to build a dock, but I don't anymore. The mobs ignore the boats, if there is no structure around it. I just place a workbench down, near the water (on a big rock) and park my boats. They leave them alone, however, they will attack the workbench. Yes, I changed the topic.

Its not as big of an issue as when the game launched. I still will build docks but that more for looks than anything.

so is this how you prevent mobs from destroying your boat? by placing a workbench near it? if they destroy the workbench will they then move onto destroying the boat? ive had too many cases where I left my boat temporarily and came back to it completely destroyed either be leeches or necks etc

No mods are used, over time it will decrease to 50%. There are mods that are visual and make it always look new but, it will be damaged. There may be other mods that keep it full strength idk I've never really used any mods other than texture packs l in valheim.

I had 3 boats near my homebase. 2 Karve's and 1 Longship. The Karve's were parked in the middle of the water and stayed around for days of gametime, never getting destroyed, nothing ever happened to them. I made a Longship, took one trip with it, returned home, parked it in the middle of the water, offshore. One night goes by, I go outside and the Longship and 1 Karve was just gone, totally disappeared. No clue if mob's hit it, a storm, a bug.... Either way, I quit because of this. No idea what happened, no logical reason for it, no way to know how to stop this from happening. Game developers need to realize adding frustration to a game is a bad way to expand and increase "playtime" in the game. I want to play, but won't be because of this open ended problem with seemingly no solution or explanation. It's not fun, it's nothing but aggravation.

The game does have bugs but it's also early access so that's to be expected

Sad that you would abandon such a great game for what equates to some iron nails and mystic wood which are both easy to get. I parked my long boat at what I thought was a safe distance off shore in the plains. I ran maybe 100 yards towards a swamp biome when I heard what sounded like crashing... I went back immediately to my boat and a goblin was in the water smashing it. I pulled out my bow but it was too late. My long boats materials and all its contents floating in the water. To me this is exactly WHY I love this game. You've constantly have to find ways to cope. Mobs won't spawn 20 tiles near fire places, workbenches and other items... there is a whole list of things. That will help keep your boat safe.

@@guntherultraboltnovacrunch5248 Yeah, my longboat materials were gone. The boat/materials just vanished. And iron might be easy to get on your map, but on my map it's a LONG ship ride (even longer with a Karve +less storage) away to the first swamp with crypts. I agree it's a great game and I've since gone back and played more, just beat Bonemass the other day. But this incident was incredibly frustrating and not as easy to deal with as you might think. And it happened for no reason and no recompense.

Maybe don't park it right up against all those stone walls? Turn the ship 90 degrees and park it 5 ft from the wall - done.

i dont now why people spend too many time trying to figure out to get a boat safe, just place a workbench and repair it before u go sailing, i mean things like that make ur game experience a little dummy and annoing when i just think that u can repair it 4 free

I don't know why you "spend too many time" clicking on tutorials for problems you don't even have dude. People are here for this video because the boat keeps getting completely destroyed by the boat hating boars of Valheim while they're inside crafting. I've lost both my boats so far to some boar wrecking it while I wasn't even in it.
