It doesn't haunt you my friend, it is there to remember the good old days, simpler times if you will. That's what it reminds me of at least, hope you have a good day.
But I think it makes things even more painful, you know. It was one story. Playing the game makes you wonder how many of other stories like that one happened too. It might be only one story you follow through and get to know, but by the end of it you cry because that could be the story oif many many people, with dreams, families, hopes and fears.
My Grandfather died fighting during the WW 2 and he was only 25 years old... Even though I never met him he still lives in our memory through the stories we hear for him. A truly valiant heart ❤️
My great-great-grandfather served in the Imperial Russian Army. After in the White Army in the South of Russia. He died near the Crimea .. The Bolsheviks stabbed him with bayonets ..
My great grandfather's friend served as a guerilla force made up from the Iban tribe made by the British in the very little known Battle of Borneo. Even though the battle was lost by the Imperial Japanese Army, the Ibans fought on for 2 years until the war ended. Thousands of lives claimed by the Ibans with no one from the Japanese Army knowing about what happened to their fallen comrade. But if the Japanese found the bodies, the bodies will be headless. We Ibans take heads of our enemies after battles. It left a huge scar on the Japanese Army in Borneo. Many fear because of the Ibans not knowing their last day on that island of savages. I want to share this story because almost no one knew about this little known but major battle. If the Ibans hadn't stepped in, the Japanese Army would have made an impact 3× larger to the world because half of the Japanese Army's oil supply came from Borneo.
My grandfather's brother serve in the defense of the Philippines. We never know what happen to him nor know where he died. But it is likely he was one of the causalities of the Bataan Death March.
you know it been about 7 years since the game launched its still a beautiful, sad, drama king, and heartful game to this day no matter what or how it's still a mostly dark beautiful game.... it made me sad this game was the most deeply philosophical wonder that I have ever seen before... so perfect, beautiful, moralistic, and saddest game.
Other games should take notes war isn't all about A hero but the average soldier and his struggles all there struggles it should not just show the honor but the death and sadness of war I will always respect the creators of this game
such is the title, those who bear the memorys, those who make it through, and those who are injured for life. mistaken, the modern representation of war is, and disrespect, to those that lived, comes from such philosophys as "guts and glory!" war is pain and death, not honor and glory, ill never understand how one can think that this is the fruit of war. so screw all the cod games, (or whatever millenial war shooter) indeed
Zach Farr Until 1918 The world was very different . It’s outlook of war was seen as a 1st choice than a final option. Humans were seen as pawns and chess pieces . All fighting for a emperor or king or queen . If today’s civilization lived back then the major empires would collapse
Like my Italian family my great grandfater fought against nazi rule in italy in the italian resistance and the italian army and my great great grandfather fought in ww1 in the Italian army
This game shows the real war, it doesn't show heroes, it shows people who lose familiars or people who lose an arm or a leg or die. This is the real war. This war isn't written in History books.
The weird thing is, that's completely contrary to how war was actually viewed back then. At least prior to the Great War, war was glorious. It was only after the brutal trench warfare that WW1 led into, which was completely unexpected to everyone, that war got its current post-modernist war is hell feel in the general population.
@@demiserofd Yes and no. Particularly destructive wars really marked generations of pacifists. It was never a really homogenous view on it. Tolstoy is a great example, he is one of the most ardent pacificsts in history, and the way he deals with war in War and Peace really shows this contrast between the glorification made by the young who never fought and the distaste for war of the veterans and after the brutality of the 1812 campaing in Russia. But you are right, that after the Great War the shift is greater and any of the impacts of previous conflcts, that was a trully devastating blow to the glorification of war.
This was one of the saddest games ive ever played, its sad to think about all of those people who died in war and were executed in camps, its sad for people to lose a family member in such horror. But as they say, "Lest we forget".
Im not gonna lie. I went into this game worried that it might mess up after seeing the trailer (thank you PlayStation Plus). However, my worries soon went away after the first chapter. I loved every second of the game from the visuals to the gameplay to the music. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THIS MUSIC!! ONE THE BEST SOUNDTRACKS AND THE BEST SOUNDTRACK FOR A WAR GAME EVER!! And with that, if there is a veteran reading this, thank you for all you have sacrificed to protect us. For those that know a veteran, go to them and thank them. Those that have lost loved ones during war, know that he/she/they are always with you and cherish the wonderful memories you have of them.
Mortalem alright wow....thanks. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting anyone to say something like that nor did I make it to get praise. But still, thank you very much I try my best to be a good person.
your comment has been here a while, so I'm sure you're not expecting a reply, but every so often I look through RU-vid comments of games that I've enjoyed playing. I usually don't reply to any of them, but yours caught my eye and I'm glad it did. See, I'm a gamer, but more than that I'm a veteran of the United States Air Force. I've been to the middle east and have experienced war, so the ending of this game truly resonated with me and, honestly, made me cry. I'm glad to see that it has moved you and many others in the same way. So, thank you very much for your kind words and thoughtful sentiments. It was an honor to serve.
cchappell06 ok wow now this is really unexpected! There's no real need to thank me. I'm just some newbie livestreamer college kid saying what I felt needed to be said. It's you that should be receiving thanks for all that you have done. I'm sure it was rough out there and I'm not going to pretend to know what war is like. If I can be completely honest, I respect the army deeply but never want to be a part of it myself. Sorry if you see that as an insult or anything like that. Wasn't intended to be. ANYWAY, of topic now. Thank you so much for protecting and serving. As Spock from Star Trek would say, live long and prosper.

This game is honestly a masterpiece, it portrays the horrors and cruelty of the first world war through the perspectives of everyday soldiers and medics that had to endure this pain that is unimaginable. The music fits this game in the most saddening way.
haven't played the game yet, but i was given the music to this after hearing another student play this at a piano recital. it's a gorgeous and i'm intrigued to play the game eventually.
Shamus h i think not. I think the campain will be really serious and they want to show how bad the war is and of course yes they dont show the war like it realy was but they try. they cant show the war so good like valiant hearts it did but the campain will not be only "fun"
Saint true, Battlefield 1 is an insult to all who died during the First World War, for it but Valiant Hearts is about us to find out what they had experienced and passed them homage, and all either betrayed his country and fought for the wrong side, regardless of how many people were killed by necessity, take consider that it's not easy, and forgive their sins by committing their own will, not people what those wrong things they did, it was a war for which they could not all, and he could not just Germans and bad guys, the war was me, all they were war, whether the war was just a factory, or a killer in the trench war was everyone, not just those who followed her to forgive their sins all the wrong that they committed war of necessity ... P.S sorry for my english, im from czech republic.
Requiescat in pace...
Not many games have taken my heart like this. This is an absolute masterpiece, in both gameplay and story. And it’s music is no less touching no matter how many times I listen to it.
I Legit cried, I sat down, thought about people giving the ultimate sacrifice; killing for there country, dying for their country. and Emile, well, he was just a french solider who knew his family didn't deserve to go through all of this, he gave an ultimate sacrifice, he pulled out men from the trenches and the gas just to be killed. the matter of the fact is that "War makes men mad" and some men can't control themselves when they've gone through so much, cried, lost, fought, and killed. some killed because of it.
Just got this game on a sale after it was mentioned in a university class and wow, just wow. If I ever had kids I’ll use this game to teach them about the war
Only one other war game has made made cry besides this one was Battlefield 1’s Avanti Savoia. The main character losing a friend that was almost like a brother to him in a game where you just kill without thought just hit me differently. I still tear up if I watch it on YT
Шикарная 😢. Я ща прохожу , хоть знаю концовку , мне в нее интересно играть . И я школьник , другие школьники думают о майнкрафт , гта 5 , а я о Valiant Hearts
Its been a hard year for me... it really had rain hard on me... poor decisions. I got the car of my dreams.. a challenger. 6 months later i had an accident due to hydroplaning. Had to sell it to my brother, which he haven't paid me a dime for it. Lost my job. And little by little im losing the insurance money. Lost my girlfriend to someone new in town. My old car insurance going up. Im 22.
In war people do the exact same fucking thing over and over and over again, expecting shit to change. That is the definition,of insanity. Got the reference? ;)
IF any of you guys have l4d2 and want a tank sound mod of this Sountrack then i made one! Here it is steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=282842732
The internet has forgotten this game.... it shouldn't. Although fiction it tells an accurate story. Ww1 was the worst war in history... millions dead because of a lie
Are video #2 #11 and #13 the same? I looked through them to find the song which played, while the "car racing scene" where the music fits so good to shells exploding, but i didnt find it. I hope you upload that as well
