Running the M17 for paintball follower stick was a common problem. I learned to shave down the follower- no more stick but follower pop out of course. Follower pop out can be rectified by shortening the leash (put a second knot under the retainer knot)
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies Год назад
I may have to add a leash if it fails to stay in there. I really havent add any issues whatsoever with the Milsig mags these Valken Hybrids were collecting dust since feed problems so it was time to put them into rotation.

Sean need pick your brain. I rebuilding my Milsig magazines. Drilled shells and use binding screws to keep shells together. Got Helix springs and T15v2 followers. So the spring doesn't push up in follower like yours. So John Wixon winder delete kits. I worked follower bushing up into spring and super glue bushing to follower. Does it matter which end of spring to use. No smaller ends just one end has few more curls at end of spring terminating spring g ends. So I can fit follower bushing st either end. Ok story done😂

@lesslethalfordummies Месяц назад
The smaller end should fit the follower but irrelevant. Does the follower stop short of the top of the square head?

Yes stops before top of feed head@@lesslethalfordummies

Probably need to sand the T15 follower a bit. They can be a little on the tight side or put a few balls in and use a rod to push them down and let them pop right up to break in the follower.

I still havent tested the hybrid follower but as per some of the comments it looks like it may come through the head too easily.
@jammaman
@jammaman Год назад
@lesslethalfordummies have you managed to give the hybrid follower a good test as of yet? Or do I really need some T15 mag followers for my hybrid mags...? Thanks.
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies Год назад
The hybrid follower works pretty good and can come through the feed neck if it gets turned a little. It can also still jam albeit much improved over the factory winder. The one and done is a Wixon Shop bushing which limits the rotation of the follower and keeps it pointed in the right direction. When the follower is straight up and down in the mag it cannot come through the feed neck of in most cases.

The hybrid follower will go through into the chamber and get smashed by the bolt. I've done it. I used strong fishing line and replaced the wire. Also added a block to put more pressure on the spring. Only ever run 12 balls max

Thank you for the feedback. Information like this helps build a stronger platform. I will definitely report back if I experience the same issues as you. Some sort of limiting strap other then metal cable maybe a better solution as you have reported.

@@lesslethalfordummies The standard way to pop out the follower in the hybrid mags is to wind it up all the way and just release it. Pop!
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies Год назад
@@jungy537 i still have to put that mag into circulation to test it but i do recall a video demonstrating just what you stated. Well if it goes through it goes through. I havent had this happen yet using the T15 follower so maybe thats the ticket.

Thank you for this video, I also removed the reel and made modifications to the outlet hole and added two screws so that the follower no longer comes out of the hole. These screws fill the square corners (but in this configuration I cannot use slogs only balls magnetic since I removed the triggers to replace them with magnets). On the other hand, I am surprised to see that you manage to put 19 marbles in the magazine, I only put 13, have you made any modifications? Maybe the follower? Have you already tried the MCS Paintball Box Magazine?🤔
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies 3 месяца назад
Screws is a smart idea if you only use balls. At the time of the first video i only used the original follower spring which is probably why it took 19 balls. The MCS box magazine? No i haven’t, but another RU-vid channel did and didn’t have great results.
@TheGadgyo
@TheGadgyo 3 месяца назад
Thank you very much for your answer, ok I will have to find this You Tube channel because I would like to operate in full auto not essentially with a lot of power but around 40 joules or less but for that I need a big bottle and a heavy bale loading. And the MCS box store seems ideal to me, but from the videos, I have the impression that they use extremely light bullets for paint balls, not defense balls. For my magazines I think I can't put more than 13 balls because of the follower which gets stuck in the turn of the magazine.

Hey, thank you for this link, it’s always a pleasure to chat with you! 😀 I just saw that you replied to me, we're jetlagged, I'm getting out of bed.😁 Indeed, it was predictable and what's more he uses 3.6g balls in the video, I think it must be catastrophic with 6.9g rubber steel balls (too heavy and too sticky with the rubber). And you are right, we are dependent on the good condition of the batteries. And what's more, it seems that the attachment to the gun is not good. Perhaps it would be necessary to increase the intensity of the batteries and mix an original magazine and the box by cutting the top of the magazine and sticking it on the box………….

Do Tippman TMC mags work with the M17 or are there any upgrades need doing first? I’m not a fan of the look of the stock mag Eventually bought an M17 after watching all your vids 👍🏻
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies 8 месяцев назад
Tmc mags do not fit. Valken sells the smg magwell that bolts right in. There are some other printed options to accept T15 mags but i havent used any of them. I also hate the stock mags. They too chonky.

makes me wander what the winder was for. i guess paintballers get dust n dirt in there so it helps move the spring?
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies Год назад
Keeps tension on the balls so paintballs dont dimple or break in the mag. A non issue with solid projectiles.
@smokingunclefrank6037
@smokingunclefrank6037 Год назад
Ok so try as I might I could not get that one curved plastic piece back under the winder I know it go's there but it seems to be free floating and After putting the mag together without it the mag works fine so WTF
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies Год назад
You dont need to reinstall the curved piece if you are deleting the winder. Its purpose was a wire guide. No more wire, no more curved piece.

@@lesslethalfordummies Yeah I know that I wasn't trying to delete it that stupid wire was jamming the thins I took it apart to just to fix a problem the spring on the rod that holds back the ammo was way off center then I notes the cable going around the outside of the spindle in the end I ended up deleting it though I got do frustrated trying to fix it's problems
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies Год назад
@@smokingunclefrank6037 The cable causes nothing but problems in LL. It was really designed to prevent paintball dimpling and we dont have that problem with solid rounds. Just have to be mindful the follower is stuck to the spring good so it doesnt pop out the mag.

I have a lot of these old milsig mags, what kind of helix springs do you use fore these? The MCS / RAP 4 helix springs with a t15 follower? Or is there a cheap helix sprig on Aliexpress or something. I also have some old milsig first strike mags laing around. I compared them to the hybrid mags. The head and the follower seems to be identical. The spring is different though. Since I don't use a lot of shaped projectiles, I am still not shure what to do with those.
@lesslethalfordummies
@lesslethalfordummies 2 месяца назад
I have been reusing the factory follower with Helix FSR magazine springs from MCS. I believe all the older heads are interchangeable just not with the newer hybrid mags which have a d shape opening in the mag shell as opposed to a straight round hole.

@lesslethalfordummies my english is not the best, so correct me if I misunderstood you. But if I got you right, you are wrong :P. The old first strike mags I have here also have a shaped opening. Also, the looks 99% identical to the hybrid mags. The follower is a is almost the same. The mags are also straight, but a little smaller and say Milsig on the side. BUT the spring is the same as the roundball mag and pretty weak. I will try the helix spring on these first before cutting the wire of the only Hybread mag I have :D Y is it not possible to just post pictures, ahh switching back to english is pretty hard. Learnd it in Southafrica where I lived for a some time, but thats like ages ago. Blabla :D
