In this video we show you how to use Vallejo Water Textures to reproduce the realistic effects of water and snow on dioramas. Step by step by José Brito.
@David: Why do you have to pour in your islamophobic and racist world view onto this video about skilled modelling craftsmanship which is totally apolitical? By diminishing other people you only achive do diminish yourself because you expose your utter lack of self confidence and feeling of inferiority. Please leave us alone and seek psychiatric help.
@ You obviously have no knowledge regarding the art of other cultures nor how those cultures take pride in their art! I suggest a trip to Istanbul to see the wonderful tradition art and architecture on display, and you might like to take in the Istanbul Modern to see contemporary art. You write of IQ scores but cannot spell reverence or loan. LOL Your comment displays a remarkable level of ignorance. Indeed, total nonsense informed by bigotry and prejudice.
Hello I was just wondering about your snow effect as i am having some problems with it. The snow seemed to go very matte and had an almost sandy texture. Is there anything I can do to stop this because I have seen others results with the product and they look fantastic!
looks fantastic it's just ...... pouring water doesn't create concentric ring ripples, throwing a single solid object does but pouring water doesn't. I hate to be critical but these things kind of eat me up if I don't share. So sorry it looks fantastic.
I think he was just showing you what you can achieve, that or maybe there was a rock inside the pipe that had just fell out, just use your imagination.
Thank you so much, Matizz8! Strangely, we have been receiving an abundance of positive feedback regarding the music featured in our very old videos. Being very old videos, we didn't know the song or where to find it, but finally, HERE WE HAVE IT (find the link in this comment)!!🎉 We invite you to sit back, relax, and indulge in the melodies while painting with Vallejo colors 🥰... 🎶➡ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F5agVB7mFjg.htmlsi=uTkXT0Tlz1t5wPOe
Hello Matteo! We recently found the song that the editor used some years ago for this video :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F5agVB7mFjg.html Enjoy it! 😊✨
it is always awesome to find a new channel to subscribe like this! but the modeling part at the beginning was way too fast, I'm hopeful you have those things in your other videos because the process looks really very cool!
Hi Nelson, The point in this video was Water Texture and we wanted to focus on this effect and the building process was not the main topic on this video. Thank you very much for your comments.
HELLO JOSE', LOVE YOUR WORK! WOULD YOU HAVE ANY TIPS/TECHNIQUES TO MAKING... TOWELS, SCARVES, FLAGS LOOK LIFE LIKE ON 1/35 SCALE? THANKS FOR ANY HELP, TODD
I tried vallejo still water and the results were catastrophic. First I tried an approx 1,5mm coat: 24h later the surface had cracks all over and some bits were rolling into a blunt. the edges shrinked towards the center. Looked more like a dry river bed. Stripped off the mess and tried it one more time with a thicker coat of 3-4mm; result: fewer cracks(but still some though). Applied the second coat of 1,5-2mm hoping the cracks would close. The third and final coat killed my wish absolutely to use vallejo ever again.
@@didndido3638 I think the problem is the wood glue. When the first coat dries will crack the still water, specially with thin layers. The Terrain Tutor explained that effect in his videos.
I don't get why people use glass. You can get a flat, high-gloss silicone mat for cheap, and the acrylic resin of the water effects won't bond to it. O.o
Hola! De que material son los muros negros que luego retiras para que se quede la resina estancada? Salen con mucha facilidad, yo use plástico y se me quedaron pegados...gracias
I'm trying to figure out how to paint a small trickle of water. From like the eyes of a statue and similar. Wondering if the way you did the water from the pipe would work. But it feels like it's a bit too "thick" for just a small trickle
Hello Angelicus! Maybe you can try adding a thin line of still water and let it dry as Jose Brito did in the video. Also you can use scissors and cut a narrower piece and then apply weathering to it!
@@vallejocolors wow, never expected an answer on this video. Certainly not as quickly. Thanks for that and your answer. I'll give it a try when I get the paint. Thanks again. I'll y for that quickness
Very nice! Does anyone know the name for the type of foam used to craft the bricks and pavement? It seems to be quite different from regular Styrofoam.
At Home Depot, the pink variety is under the brand name "Foamular." I use it as the base for all my dioramas. It cuts as easy as foam, but can be sanded like wood.
stan sweet! I will have to check them out. I stopped at Lowe's and picked up a sheet of the thinner blue stuff the othe day, but having more options can't hurt! Thanks.
what material did you use? because for some reason when i apply the still water texture on my diorama (made out of polystyrene) its like if it gets absorbed and doesnt have that 3D water effect
Hello Kerrie! We recommend to protect the clay surface with a waterproof/protective product before using Water Texture so you can avoid these problems in the future
Hello! We need more info to properly answer that question and know what are you planning to do but we have SNOW ref. 26820 in our "Diorama Effects" range so if you want to use it you need to let our water texture products dry before using snow.
Hello Lars, sure! You can mix our Still Water product with other Vallejo paints to get different shades and effects depending on the context of your diorama or model :)
Hello Михаил Б! You must apply it in several fine layers of no more than 3 mm. thickness to prevent cracks or bubbles in the drying process. It will take approx 24-48hours :)
@@vallejocolors thanks! the result was excellent. But have one question: when "still water" dries up, it dries unevenly in small areas. Depressions in the center, and near the borders the level is slightly higher. Any advice?
Hello! You can read more about our miniature tufts here acrylicosvallejo.com/en/category/hobby/scenery-en/ Regarding the tiny leaves, unfortunately, we unknown the brand selling them!
Hello Larry! Simply the artists didn't used it but even in this case, 26.231 Foam is great for raised crests on waves, whirls & wakes on the surface of tinted Water gels 😊
Hola Gabtzo, puede que haya reaccionado con algun componente que se haya añadido previamente a la superficie, que no se haya secado correctaemnte o se haya aplicado en capas demasiado gruesas sin tener en cuenta que la anterior este completamente seca.

It's nearly perfect BUT, i've seen this "still falling water" techniques many times and all around the web, but i still don't agree with it. While the ripple effects look perfect (even inadequat here, but nevermind), the white paint added to give a foamy water effect is a crap totally ruining the realistic success of the whole model (which is pretty good !). You can't just get satisfied with it mates, it completely lacks of randomness and fuzzy aspect of real water splashes ! You must find a more perfect way to achieve this. Maybe using high-speed shots of waterfall or anything that could help this in an analytic way, but this must be fixed, really !
