Lots of great information. I am trying to learn about what my 6th great grandfather went through and about his military history; Capt. Eli Ely from NC is on the Muster Rolls in Valley Forge. Capt. Ely was a part of Defense of Philadelphia, Philadelphia-Monmouth, he was part of the Battle of Brandywine Creek and Germantown PA.
4:56, the whole Maryland/Delaware Brigades under General Sullivan's Division (Including Hazen's Canadian Regiment) did not do so well at Brandywine. They were to the American left of positions at Sandy Hollow and completely collapsed due to being positioned too far in advance of the main American line and while in a full loopdeloop counter march, were crashed into by the British Brigade of Guards.
