This reminds me of me and my friends doing this and they said I couldn’t tank it. I lost half my health and it’s now our personal joke that I don’t run from anything with gunlance. Shield is the way
@@simonbastianelli5540 You’re right. Long sword is also a viable option. There’s a lot of viable options honestly. Some more effective than others. I’m pretty sure the invincible gambit switch skill lasts long enough to be effective as well. I’m gonna test some things and report my findings
I love this series. An undefeated warrior taking on unbeatable monsters that make people freeze from terror. And his hunter who tickles the monster once in a while.
@@nemanjastanimirovic155 Yeah, the hunter's association is supposed to only take serious request that involve the balance of the ecosystem and serious threats to civilizations in mind; But a lot of the quests are "Big Dino/Dragon called me fat, kill it please."
Actually I can add to this because half the quests are to hunt creatures who have no interest in attacking anyone or live in such remote areas that you have to search for them to get attacked. Like herbivores and cave monsters that spooked somebody, usually while the person was doing an activity they can do somewhere else or collecting natural resources. And because of that they want somebody to kill the monster, because they exist.

I would rather say he copied that from Shara, because he does basically the same movement: holding his wings together and fire a concentrated beam of energy.
Valstrax is straight up the reason I got rise. Not even fucking with you I wasn’t going to buy the game until I found out they were putting this guy in. Not only that, but they actually put in an even COOLER VERSION of him instead of the base one. It really does feel like I’m being marketed to specifically, that being said I know he’s a lot of people’s favorite so it’s not just me.
@@scarsch5383 world’s endgame sort of… Well I don’t know how to put this gently but I basically hated mhw’s endgame. None of the monsters were fun to fight, and it took me ages to get any of the gear I wanted. At that point I had decided that I was more or less done with the game after I stopped playing world. That combined with the fact that rise was $80 on release despite it lacking enough content to justify that price tag.
@@quantumgargoyle3888 I'm sure you've played enough to know this by now, but Rise's endgame is nothing like World's. You can fight pretty much whatever you want, and if you ask me, they're all a hell of a lot more fun to fight than World's monsters (unless you hate yourself and want to farm rampages).
I swear, Magnamalo has a death grudge against every elder dragon in the game. Also rad air gunlance man, I play a lot of gunlance but I never considered using it like that, I'll have to try that out!

I would have loved to see this guy in world, the design would have looked freaking epic, but this is still so nice to see. For sure one of my favorite monsters.

There's an ingame filter that let's you make it look like this while you are playing. Go dig in the display or graphics settings and you'll find it eventually.

Possibly the lack of anything other than grinding for the 50 HR levels to reach him? Allmother was a great way to finish off the story for Rise and while Valstrax may look nice and have a really good set (maybe it's even fun to fight but I'm still in the late 70s myself) you are left with nothing to do but endlessly grind for 50 levels. Apparently most MH fans like the endless grind though so it may also just be the usual thing with the veterans from any long-running franchise where nothing is good enough for them so regardless of what's done the game will still be too easy and/or boring for them.

The music in these videos is genuinely impressive and the only part that isn’t absolutely nutty. Valstrax theme plays for a majority of the time but he actually switches it to Magnamalo’s theme when he does the wyvern ride with Mag. Really cool stuff

I originally voted on your poll that the reverb fart effect was a good element to your masterly crafted videos, but as a long time viewer, I would like to offer some constructive criticism of moving away and phasing out the “fart reverb” effect, and only using it sparingly to really catch the viewers off guard. Because the concept of a giant flying lizard being fused with a F-16 jet fighter, given enough firepower to burn all of California in under 30 seconds and being capable of moving past Mach 1 just by taking off is nothing short of fucking awesome

I've got to say that you may not really be the best GLancer there is.. but it sure looks like you're having a lot of fun using it + it's hella fun to see you trying with it (and maybe carting yeah..) ! Anyway keep it up my dude you're doing a great job.
I gotta say, ever since starting with gen 1 back on the PS2, ive seen many monsters. MHGU introduced Valstrax and it immediately became my favorite. It remained so until Rise and was only edged out by Crimson Glow Valstrax.

Yes have Grigori be represented by a huge Rathalos (or Apex version) while in the Shrine Ruins with either the end credit theme or Into Free playing in the background. And your reward is the Arisen armor (Which makes your Hunter look like your Arisen from Dragon Dogma or Savan (the final boss)) and weapons based off the Dragon weapons after defeating Grigori. Item being called the Wakeshard (Get it, part of the Wakestone). Weapons: Sword and Shield, Hammer (War Hammer), Greatsword, Glave (The Sorcerer Staff), Bow (Longbow), Duel Blades (Daggers) and Charge Blade (the Mage rod with the Magick Shield). Quest Giver Mysterious Wanderer (Savan or your Arisen character) Rank: 7 (HR 4 or higher) Greetings Hunter of Kamura. While I was traveling your shrine, I spotted a large draconic like monster in the area blazing everything down! I tried to fight it but I couldn’t break it’s hide, and I’m a proud fighter myself. Not even my partner couldn’t put a scratch on it! Anyway, if you could fell this beast; I’ll give you something from my homeland to make powerful gear. Sounds like a deal, Hunter? Don’t worry I’ve talked to your Blacksmith on how to make them.
