Its not so bad if you have a good aystem. I organize by decade, refresh the key dates of that period, then try to stick to one year at a time, so I can focus on one peculiarity at a time, certain years like '82 get weighed so copper is separate from the zinc junk, then start running through with obvious keeper, look agains and cash in piles. Bada bing bada bang. Its a pita if youre all over the place decade wise.
That's a good thing for those of us that take the time to do it. That puts potentially valuable coins back in circulation for someone else to find. It's a relaxing (and sometimes rewarding) hobby. I set aside short blocks of time to sort coins. It works for me. Have a great day my friend
Hey Daniel, I found a 1998 WAM yesterday. I'm not concerned with its monetary value because it was such a thrill to find it after watching your video. I posted it on CHU Community just to get personal verification. Thanks again for the videos and CHU Community. Also got my eye out for that elusive 96.
There's also Wide "AM" for the 1988 and the 1988-D ! I found an '88 WAM in a beautiful BU condition not long ago! Just a little heads up, while you're checking your change!
Thank you! Just looked through a jar of cents and pulled out all the red ones. Out of three 98's, four 99's and four 2000's, I found 1 wide AM 98. Even has the different FG. Never looked at cents before - how cool to find something a bit rare.
Daniel, another great video pal, your knowledge and passion for coins and collecting are obvious! Thanks so much for taking the time to educate and talk to us about the hobby we all love 👍
Daniel, thank you so much for your time, info and everything else you do for the coin community. I love your videos as they've taught me so much. Your also very handsome and nice to look at
Simply wow after watching this video I am mediately sent it to my mother and father who are also slight coin enthusiast, and told them that this is by far the best nine minutes at work I have had in two years. I immediately felt more knowledgeable overall had more clarity into the differentiation between these nuance varieties and was able to confirm and deny a couple of coins I have that I wasn’t exactly sure about. Bottom line you did an absolutely wonderful job and thank you so very much for the informative video also thank you for confirming the fact that I have an actual 1992D close AM it’s also red with very very very few cosmetic dings after looking at what some coins get 65s and 66s for I wholeheartedly believe it should be that or pretty darn close I will absolutely follow up with pictures and the outcome of the sale/auction/show and tell party with friends whatever it may be but in large part it was because of this video giving me the confidence to trust my gut and look a bit harder and understand that it actually is too good to be true for once YAY!!! Cam!
I know this video is from three years ago I’m wondering how you made out? Maybe you’ll see it maybe you won’t. I hope it turned out well for you in any case!
Daniel Idk how many times I've watched this video I keep refreshing my memory using it as a reference guide. Your kindness in sharing your knowledge is much appreciated. However you are a part of what in my case is fast becoming an obsession instead of just a cheap hobby that I can cash out at face value anytime. I have big ideas now of constructing a sorting table for coins to separate them by year date first then work each date and mint while referencing material before then putting the ones I don't keep back in the financial system. You may need to start up a rehab for those who become addicted to this. Perhaps a video or disclaimer might be in order.
Glad I researched all of your vids, especially this one! Even though this was out about a year ago, today is the day I confirmed my recent finds! (2) 1992 cams (in pretty good condition), a 1998 Wide am & a 2000 wide am. Still looking for that 1996. crossing my fingers! Momma needs a home of her own!!!! Have a good night!
Hello there I have a 2005 P roosevelt dime that im having some issues over . Some say its been damaged but under the microscope I can clearly see doubling on the obverse . But im really not sure what happened to this dime could you help me with this .
Thanks Daniel for this video. I went searching for the wide am's In my coin collection, and found 8 coins that were 1998,1999,and 2000. I also found, out of those 8 coins , 2 were the 1996 P wide am. I 'd like to get those coins authenticated and graded , then sold. I just need help getting that done. Do you consign coins for coin collecters? If not, do you know anyone who does? Thanks again.your coin vids are Very informative.
@@CoinHELPu Teach sometimes they look close or wide especially the 90's being the font, you really got to tilt it to see it is wide, many time I thought wide till I moved them around all angles perhaps you might do a clip on this cause the font can fool you. Like show how it looks wide at 1st glance then tilt it ;) I wonder if any errors will pop up being it changed again in 2009 back to wide ish more even. When they came out with the 4 set of Lincoln.. it was getting me confused I had to lay out all the years and see the change
You have five pennies posted,1996 you did not specify which am is the error for that year? Could you clarify that for me please? 1996 close or wide AM FOR THIS YEAR? THANKS BUD
hello i have old coins from USA i want to sale this coin i send u the list of yrs. please help me this co i need a money to make a home. Im from phils.
How many pennies do you need to look thru ? I like pennies But older dates , I found a 1914D but it was really a 1944D that was altered …. I guess my dads eyesight wasn't the best .What is the best way to get ms coins to look thru because some of this change is already 20 plus years old .
You can't go by "look" you're looking for a reverse from a die with a different design so the designer initials do matter and well as the STATES and it all must match. You also must account for die deterioration, damages and other factors that can effect the look of the lettering and distance between them.
Im sorry i know this is prob not the right video to make this comment but got here from the double die videos. Still somewhat confused eapecially with the 1970 s double die cent. For instance coin community has a post of a coin that they say is clearly not doubleed die. To me it looks just like a variety listed on copper coins with the doubled look in a different direction. My head is getting sore from beating it against the wall. Help please.
Thanks for the response. Im not an advocate for cc at all. It just comes up often when i google a question. The "meat" of my question was how do "experts" immediately know some coins are not doubled dies when they look just like others that are (to me anyway)? Some have no splits, some are shown as just being thicker. Im relatively new to this and have looked at thousands of lincoln cents. Rarely do any from the same year and mint look exactly the same. I can see why the coin collecting community is small. When people reach out for help and the door is slammed in their face they seldom will knock again. This is the first time i have approached help here. I have aplroached others about strange findings and the only response I get is get it graded or find a dealer. If this community was in nature the race would become extinct due to the lack of making people feel welcome or helping those who reach out. What would you tell your kids if they went to the "people who know" for help and were turned away? I was taught that if you dont know ask someone who does.
I have a 1996 D with the close AM initials. The A & M do not touch at all. But, the space between the A & M is only about half of what a normal wide AM would have. So as it has the close am initials & a lesser amount of space between the A & M even though they are touching....I have yet another dud find....bwahhhwahhhwahhh! Sighs...back to the search!!
Nomas gueria saver,aserca de los centavos americanos. de 1980,1981 bueno,y,está el,1999,1970,está 1978,tengo 2. 1590, del 2012,2023 2019,2025,,y, 2020,tengo 50,
I go through boxes and boxes of Lincoln cents I am very familiar with all WAM & CAM One thing that I come across with the 1992 Lincoln cent Some are spread out at different distances for example, some spacing between AM are different Again, they are not touching, but some are extremely close and some farther away
If you would have not explained the WAM Fonts on the WAM 1996. O would have missed it,the WAM has a DIE CHIP; that Connect's the A and the M. On the WAM. That can be seen on a zoom in,; also the WAM make it clear . Also, the Fonts identify that the coin is a WAM ,by the shape of the WAM FG. and the FG. If the FG is close to the building,it is a WAM.
