Best beach fishing mentor on the planet. Beach fishing is relaxing, grounding, connection, awesome environment, ionic tide line zone, collecting sunshine and vitamin D3, movement, food providing, mentally challenging and can be exhilarating
That’s why we don’t want Roger telling people where he fishes ) because before you know it every Tom dick and harry is at our local spots. We moved here because we do not want to fish a crowded beach.
Hi Roger, Richard here we spoke that day , you had a good session as well I ended up with 3 big salmon & 3 whiting. its such a good beach. see you on the beaches 👍
Great work mate. Your appreciation of the whole experience of fishing shines through - you put into words what a lot of us feel when we're out there. Also people new to fishing would be inspired to take it up in good spirit. Thanks.
Hi Roger. I take onboard so much of what you have to say and really it’s just common sense as long as you think like a fish ! You make it look so easy so keep it coming. Thanks.
Hi Roger! Always enjoy your videos from here in South Africa. Been a fishing enthusiast for years. Unable to fish now due to old age. Watching you I still do vicarious fishing from the comfort of my home. Thank you very much.
Blowing it's arse off here on the sunshine coast really want to go beach fishing all rigged up ready to go at least I can watch your videos Roger awesome man thanks
Another great vid. I have found over the years is like you experienced, that you get few bites/fish in places where you are battling strong sweep/drift/current. My theory is that fish don’t congregate in those areas because they need to expend too much energy to hold position and feed.
Pretty much the only odd fish I’ve been able to catch in those conditions has been the odd flathead. When I have “followed” my bait down the beach, with the current. A bit like fishing on the drift from a boat - just not as productive 😀
Really enjoying and learning so much from your content Roger, I always look forward to your new videos. Thank you for all of your efforts to help us be better fishing lovers
Instructive and enjoyable! Thanks once again. Can you do something on how to use crab as a bait? I've always just found them a nuisance taking the bait, but clearly I have something to learn there-
Hey Roger Great video mate looking forward to catch and cook Video, Levi and I learnt a lot in this weeks video, we are looking forward to spending a week Dow. Jervis bay next week trying. Our new found knowledge, keep it up Roger
Great video Roger. Re the shoes, I bought a pair at the end of last summer. I've only used them this summer and the velcro is coming off already. The stitching wasnt great. Other than that I agree they are super comfy...
This video was one of your very best!! Well done Roger. I was a cricketer and my mates at Wauchope were surfers. I got on a board in the Hastings River in 1964 and promptly went over the other side. Ruined my watch. I loved body surfing though. Were you a competition surfer or just roamed around? As for instructions, particularly current, where were you 40 years ago!!!
@@jb-es5zj I get that, but he is talking about targeting a specific spot and even going frame by frame can't work out where it's landing, an occasional arrow or line for the region he is aiming for would be very helpful
Cracking session! Nice one mate. Funny you mention the mulloway near Port. Born and bred there and I get about 10-15 15kg+ mulloway a year in the area. As you said up near Southwest Rocks and Crescent Head are really great spots. South of Port near Harrington area is great too.
G'day Roger, great vid as always. That little indentation on the first bream you caught looks a lot like Saddleback Syndrome, we see it semi regularly up here around South East QLD. Be interesting to see if you notice it on any other bream you catch in the area. As far as I know, no definite cause is known but usually its thought to be linked to sewerage or some sort of water pollution. Could be wrong and It may just be scarring like you said, but keep an eye out for it!
Great video. Question - Do Salmon school in similar size group i.e. small fish school together and vica versa, or do they mix small fish with large fish?
Good question, Adrian. Yes, the Salmon school is usually a mix of small and large fish. What happens to me quite often; I’ll be fishing with bait (Pilchards), and be catching only small Salomon, because the small ones always get to the bait first. Then when I switch to a metal lure, and retrieve it nice and fast, I catch the biggest Salmon of the day in exactly the same spot! Note: This does not mean that you should only fish with a lure, it is always good to start with bait fishing to first attract the fish to your location, and to get them on the bite.
Fish tacos - now there's something I could sink my teeth into! Have you tried them with salmon? Fantastic beach Wairo - been a while since I fished there though! Dart are ok to eat - i reckon they taste a bit like tailor . Fantastic video as usual Roger!
Thanks Ian, Pretty sure we have had Salmon in fish tacos but either way it would be good. We made some the other night, they were so good I have to do it again
great video Roger , your always informing us about the value of prospecting and this content highlights that perfectly , i really enjoy your instruction and also your delivery of how you explain your reasoning's relating to conditions you consider during the planning of your vishing trips
Hi Roger whiting are one of the best fish to eat Sashimi style with a light soy sauce and wasabi. Wonderful thinly sliced white flesh dipped in the soy and wasabi mix. Not too much wasbi
Great content again Roger. When waiting for a bite could you please make sure the rod tip is showing. Nothing like seeing that tip bring nibbled. Keep up the great footage, a credit to you both.
Been finding a lot of beaches around Sydney recently that ive been to have no structure. Its just one uniform wave coming in. When this happens do i fish the ends of the beach?
I just here to snooze to this mans voice love a crakka ozzy show, If you wanna take up your fishing game to next level, you gotta drop baits behind the breakers with drones!
G'day Rodger Forever watching your videos I never see you clean and fillet your fish would be great to see you add that in every now and then love your videos
I know I can find the gutters by eye but Roger have you ever mucked about with an aerial drone above to spot the optimal deep holes and get a different perspective Roger ?
Been a good lesson for me Roger , I used to find a gutter and sit there in the hope I might hook up wasting lots of productive fishing time , I should have known better , in the future I’ll be in hunting mode lol , table fish are fantastic , any chance of a video on catching mullet off the beach I’m not sure on how to go about that or if it’s possible, anyway great video Roger , thank you for sharing your fantastic fishing videos.👍
why don't you use sandbugs alternativelly to worms? they are awesome for pampano. didn't see you catching sand bugs yet. are they not that common in australia?
hi Roger, I hope you are well.i was wondering how does one use the drag control/spool release on the reel, when is it a good time to open or close it up?will be nice to see a video on
Thanks for the insights into sea fishing in Australia. I'm a brit visiting relatives on the coast in the Thirroul area NSW in 2 weeks. I've bait dug/collected extensively in the UK but never hand picked beach worms the way you guys do.... and that's my first goal. Really looking forward to wetting a line and putting into practice what I've learned from you. Any tips on this area, beaches to visit etc? Best regards, keep the vids coming!
hey roger my rod broke and my 5000 sedona with 15 lb braid doesnt have a rod anymore, but i do have a 1 to 3 kg rod that i was thinking i could tempararily use for my estuary trip later today thoughts ps i would use light drag
Hi Roger Love the videos! I would love to know what weight the 12 foot taipan is? Is it 5-9kg. I have a 10ft Penn Prevail 8-15kg and wondering if it would be suitable for bait fishing off the beach?
Hey Roger, im watching from the US. I understood that were lots of quite dangerous jellyfish in Australia, and a person should have protection from them and not expose skin. Some of them are reputed to be quite small, invisible, and deadly! I notice you just go in with bare skin and not a thought for the jellyfish. What is the explanation?
