is it a Hybrid using Transistors as well?, or do the valves replace the transistors?,, seen one in a dance lately and sounds good for the phono use but wanted to know if it is pure Valve pre amp or a hybrid,, just need to know before i buy,, thanks
would be nice to have a wave file to listen to the same record in a normal phono preamp, and then through Valvatron , to here the difference before buying, peace
That is true. But I am too 'low tech' to make this happen. It is a valve/analogue device, which should be heard in an analogue environment. Converting to digital files and listening back on digital computers of uncertain quality may not give the effect required. Peace.
Hope you would please explain why mono ... for mono records only? I have mostly stereo records ... USA here... I have been looking for a tube pre amp for my turntable ... looking at the McIntosh MP100 phono preamp but would prefer tubes
Hi. It is built mono because it is aimed at Reggae Sound System users, of which nearly all of them use mono systems. A stereo record needs to be blended into mono for this use. It is not aimed at domestic HiFi, unless you prefer mono as some people do. You could always buy 2 !
