Technically, you don't have to take your chain tensioner out. You just have to back it out which you did and then you went above and beyond and took it out. I had to take mine out because the 954 is so tight in there.

Kinda off topic but I'm changing the CCT next week does it really have to be TDC before doing that? I heard a lot of people say once you take it out just make sure you dont move the bike at all until you put the new one in.

Eh, you can leave it as is and gamble on it not moving, but the thing is that if you put it TDC, and replace the chain, it just has to be TDC again, there is no other way to check if you have alligned it correctly. If you accidently moved it and turn the engine over you risk untiming your engine and the valves will hit your piston which will make them bent and damage the engine

@ well, it can happen, small chance the chain (or a cam shaft) will jump a tooth. but the chance is small, just be sure to check if the allignments are correct.
