I used to think that the prince was L-elf's son with some of the girls. But looking at it now, I think they couldn't even have children, because there were no other children and immortality in several series means losing the ability to procreate, because then there would be no need for that... and this ending takes place 200 years later. L-elf was human from what I remember...
L Elf was human and the prince would be his descendant with different women. It was never revealed whether turning into partially Magius makes them lose the ability to procreate (the Prez did get married after all) and the original Magius aren't even physical beings. Being immortal, however, is the price they had to pay to bond with the Valvraves and they'll be the pilot until they eventually die. Shouko in particular contracted with Unit 1; which is the most powerful but with the burden of being fully Magius and had to consume memories of others.
I watched this as a kid so probably 10 years ago? And during that time i really loved gundams and this was one of the shows i really liked that arent gundam
Honestly, this whole thing frustrates me. I know that they had to wrap things up, given that the series was cut short, but they really need to pull that rune-memory plot point out of their butt purely to kill off the main hero? He could’ve survived, and still the ending would’ve worked. And why in the world did Saki not show up in his memories more? The girl was willing to do anything for him, never held anything against him, was always there for him to lean on, and shared his status as a Valvrave pilot. Why wasn’t she the one you picked? Oh yeah, because he’s still holding on to Shouko. Even though that relationship has done nothing but prevent him from growing as a character. Seriously, his obsession with being with her despite their now different natures and responsibilities kept him from revealing the truth to her and the others. And it didn’t help Shouko either, as her feelings for him clashed with her new responsibilities as PM. So why pick Shouko? Oh yeah, melodrama.
@@halo2player3 Honestly, it’s not worth it. All it’ll do is make you rage at the choices made in the second half. Best thing for me it did (aside from giving me one of my favorite Sunrise heroines in Saki Rukino), is that it got my creative juices flowing enough for me to want to write my own fic about how I’d do the second half.
In my mind, his more important people should’ve been Saki and L-elf, Shouko is his first romantic interest, but she grew apart from him really fast and became political component of the cast rather than fighting with him…
@@lileenleen Exactly. Heck, his relationship with Saki I felt was the one that made the most sense. She was able and willing to share his burden, never lashed out at him for what the curse made him do to her, and was always loyal to him, even when she recognized how he felt regarding Shouko. If anything, while his relationship with Shouko I thought kept him leashed to the past, his relationship with Saki is what allowed him to move on to the future. That the writers didn’t take advantage of this is beyond me.
I know right!? also I get the feeling Im like the only channel that has the final episode out, I swear. I've gotten 200 subs in the last month. Im not used to this.
