This was originally a seminar I ran for my patrons a long time ago and I decided to dust off the presentation and wing it to get some content out! It came out pretty well and I hope you'll enjoy it!
This video covers how to satisfy your players as a ST, and how to collaborate with the ST if you're a player. These are some advice, not rules, so take it easy yeah?
Thank you for watching!

I loved how human this advice was. Explaining things from a vulnerable perspective of personal experience.

Interesting topic. I enjoyed while I worked. My only thought worth mentioning revolves around 'keep secrets' topic. As a ST, I encourage it to a degree. I enjoy the PCs needing to trust, but never knowing if they can 100%. Coterie build trust over time and always betrayl is possible. This is especially true if you run a campaign with multiple coterie, or no real coterie but dozens of individuals moving from small group to small group between sessions. It adds an element of danger that I find, if handled properly is the right atmosphere for predator prey genre of rpg. Thanks for the channel. Cheers!

Excellent work! 1. I understand where you are coming from about role playing as a sacred thing. I feel like when the game is going good, I am creating something with them and the author of the adventure. A gestalt story of our own. 2. I am with you 100 percent about touchstones. I think they are excellent and give a lot of fodder for play and resources for stories. Sometimes I just forget they are there, but I need to remember to use them more often. 3. I love the advice on not doing cheeky texts on the side. I used to advocate for that, but you’ve changed my mind. 4. You should be running games. Your advice reveals your obvious talent. Maybe just keep the group number down to 3-5 PC’s.😂

This is fantastic as a storyteller myself. It’s nice to hear that a lot of what I’m doing for my players to get them engaged is in a power point presentation. I took away some key points as well.

Hello! Potential new ST here going on a binge of ST Tips and research. I have DMd for D&D for years now and this will be the first time I'll be running a VTM game for new players and I am equal parts excited and nervous about it and I think this talk helped a lot at clearing some misconceptions and ironing out some things I need to remind myself of constantly. Definitely following after this.

I love this game its way different than D&D. I learned with my time with this game that its about growing as a human being undead, but i still had issue of how to challenge meta humans with politcs and drama. I had some players drop out over time and one guy stayed but just having one story was not for me Either. The most fun i had was just giving them conflict and not knowing how it will be solve. Open a door there is a dead body, driving down the street cop pulls you over with 30 mins of night left, and the classic hunter shoot out. But i seeing your video i know that their is way more

What a great start to your philosophy of roleplaying I to feel as if it can be thought of as an almost religious experience. This was incredibly interesting and I can't wait for more!

This video was great. Or rather, this seminar was great? I feel like it's beyond a simple RU-vid video. World of Darkness and relationships have this in common: communication is key! They also have deviant Malkavian bedroom antics in common.

sacred and pretentious are totally different unless you require all involved to find it sacred.

I don't have the imagination to run a game, plus I don't have the social skills to make it "fun" for a lot of people

You don't need to correct yourself to say "person with autism". A lot of us--I'd even wager most of us--prefer the identity-first terminology ("autistic person") instead. You can use whatever you want for yourself, of course. But you seemed like you were correcting yourself there and I wanted to tell you you weren't wrong the first time.

Aspiration / Desire is one of those things that I refuse to write down on my character sheet. It's one of the reasons I just can't play V5 - there are so many mechanics that just aren't fun for me. I LOVE Nature / Demeanor. They make sense to me and my style of roleplaying. Every game where I've had to write down concrete Aspirations and Desires (or similar stats), I've had a bad experience. It invariably comes down to having to choose between the main plot or my character's side plots - . With Nature & Demeanor, I don't need to codify specific goals. Rather I can decide how to manifest my character's personality no matter the current goal of the coterie. Edit: Had to thumbsdown when you said "If you can't think of any touchstones, find another game." I'd been playing the game long before Touchstones were even a thing in V:tR, and V5's touchstones leave a lot to be desired. That kind of gatekeeping b.s. will get me to unsub faster than you can say "edition wars."
