It must be so fucking hard to pick a song to play on a show like this or whatever where they have one opportunity to show everyone who they are since their music is so diverse u can't put a pin on it.
I think certain people are having a hard time appreciating the relaxing trip they turned this song into. It's mellow and melodic, and sounds great at cruising speeds over the dashboard speakers.
my favorite part is how the whole band is so chill and relaxed looking except the drummer. I mean, that's not an insult, it's just kind of funny how obviously into it he is. I'd be like that too if I were playing the song. It's relaxing but just feels so badass to drum.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Music was not made to 'rock'. It was made to feel. Iggy Pop certainly did his part on the feeling, as does Vampire Weekend. i found this cd at my library last year... i love when i'm totally taken aback by a new artist.. it's really rare these days. if you haven't heard of Mogwai, be sure to check them out. Rock Action-my fav album. but they're all good.

Yeah, haha... I gotta say that he is a fantastic drummer, although that might not be shown in this song... But rhytmicaly he is always perfect! As well as the whole band.
I would say calling fans of Vampire Weekend "cunts" qualifies as trolling. And to answer your question, to each his own. I personally love Vampire Weekend's melodies and how they tend to bring an air of uniqueness into each of their songs. It's a kind of devotion to writing a good song that you don't see often these days.
