A click track wouldn’t add anything to the sound, just keep them in time. Most bands that incorporate electronic elements will use them. I think they are using backing tracks, though. The vocals sound doubled. Also RIP that mic at the end. Made me cringe.
@@JoshWDylan If the vocals are doubled then he's doing an incredible time keeping with the track, I never hear them split. They are at least using tracks for the weird sound at the beginning tho.
Eli Davidson Word. Maybe just a very well incorporated delay? I’m definitely hearing some sort of “thickening” effect in the pre-chorus/chorus. It sounds like it thins back out to just his vocals in the verse, but maybe I’m just hearing wrong. Either way, they’re super talented dudes! It takes a lot of skill to play to a click OR a backing track and stay so closely on-beat that no one would notice.
+A-stoned-rose Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl (Nirvana) and dont forget the kings in Neil Peart and Keith Moon! Look em up if you havent yet!
Lead singer and bassist and guitarist are dancing. Other guitarist is extremely focused on his strumming. Keyboard dude is head banging. Drummer is having a seizure. BEST BAND.
+Ralph Smith He is amazing but dont forget about Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl (Nirvana) and the Godfathers in Neil Peart (Rush) and Keith Moon(The Who)! Look em up if you havent yet!
For those of you making fun of the guitarist with glasses - he's friends with daft punk and was in a band with daft punk before daft punk was daft punk. Dude is 110% talent
+thefly21 Dont forget about Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl (Nirvana) and the Godfathers in Neil Peart (Rush) and Keith Moon (The Who)! Look em up if you havent yet!
@@eduardoruiz1914Mate everyone knows those drummers. They are all from famous mainstream bands, and they are indeed great. Thomas is not nearly as well-known but holy shit if he isn't one of the greats too. Similarly there is another drummer from his hometown, Morgan Ågren, who could quite possibly be THE greatest drummer. Now THAT'S someone for you to look up, Morgan Ågren ;)
Saw this live on tv . I was 13 years old and just moved to Indiana from California because of the 2008 recession . Life was extremely rough and downright sad . I missed to the city and it’s loud beautiful spirit. But I turned the tv on and here was a band that just blew my mind. I was hypnotized and just for a couple of minutes I thought to myself that everything might be okay. Great band ! Great performance !
Hope you are doing well now friend. I live all the way on the other Coast brother, and perhaps someday I'll journey to California or you'll journey to the east coast.
With the way things turned out for Cali maybe everything was meant to turn out how it did, unfortunate situation but I know plenty of people still there suffering even more given what it’s become. Life is funny that way
Where the Sundays and the Cars and New Order left off, these gentlemen have taken the baton and run into the future with it. A new old sound, hard to do, but brilliant and now this is my favorite band. I'm old. I don't listen to much of the new music because there is so much crap, but dumb old me... I'm learning there is much to be missed. I am glad I didn't miss out on this band completely. I saw them by accident last night, bored to death, nothing but lies on TV, but PBS was highlighting this band on Center Stage, and I was mesmerized by the sound. Right on vocals, great musicality. They take you on a ride that is at once in the moment and somehow nostalgic. A pleasure really.
Can't believe these guys have been around since 2000 and I'm just now being introduced to them. Their music will hold me off until the next Strokes album.
I didn't know they were this good live. What I also like about them is that even though they chose to sing in English, they have remained as French as can be. Hilarious drummer, ahahahah!
Saw phoenix at the roundhouse in london......what a VENUE...more importantly what a BAND.....has completely restored my faith in bands. These guys put so much passion into their performances.......magnifique!
I kept hearing part of this on a Cadilac commercial, and asked everyone I knew if they knew the group...drove me batshit for weeks! And then.....dur!....I came to You Tube and typed in "cadilac commercial" ...and VOILA!! ... there it was! I still love listening to this!
I love this band. The album is amazing and I freak out when I hear it in places or a radio station playing their music, because it is so good. I have to admit though that I don't listen to the radio often because it is mostly complete garbage. American rock is dead! F hip-hop! and F our tired and stupid radio stations here in the US. Thanks to the Indie rock scene in Canada and the rest of the world for picking up the slack!
I've been searching for this for years. I caught the second half of this performance when channel surfing one night and was blown away by the intensity of the performance and unique vocals. Couldn't remember the name of the band the next day. Very happy to have found this.
I kept hearing this on a Cadilac commercial and it drove me nuts cuz I really liked the sound and no freakin clue who it was doing it! I asked people if they knew...hoped to hear it on the radio, but never die. Then a lightbulb went off in the pea I like to call my brain and I typed in "Cadilac commercial" here at You Tube and ...whoo hoo...there it was! How hard was that? Dur
This is a nice song.I remember hearing this song about 2 years ago on a cadillac car commercial. And then I heard it today on a superbowl commercial and it reminded me how great of a song it is.
