ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಾರ್ವಕಾಲಿಕ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲೊಂದು. ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ, ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಹಾಗೂ ನಟನೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಬಹಳ ಅಮೋಘವಾಗಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದಿವೆ. ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಸಂಗೀತವೂ ಸಹ, ಮಧುರವಾಗಿ, ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಹಾಗೆ ಸರಳವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಆಗಾಗ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಗಿರೀಶ ಕಾರ್ನಾಡ ತೀರಿ ಹೋಗಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನಗಳ ನಂತರ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನೋಡುವ ಸುಯೋಗ ನನಗೆ ಇಂದು ಒದಗಿಬಂದಿತು.

Masterpiece !. This is one of the cult movies. The Srinivasa Shrothri Character by Venkat Rao is just un-imaginable. Tears at the end of the movie. Just opens up a different perspective about life. Watching it ever since my childhood and feels so fresh, Opens up different dimensions about life every single time. Just cannot describe in words on how i feel watching it

S.L.Bhyrappa is one of the finest Novelist in India. After reading the book I took 4-5 days to come out from the characters. Have to appreciate Karnad and B.V Karanth for the Good on-screen transformation.!

Vamsha Vruksha was my non-detailed Kannada text while doing BSc (second year) in 1971-72. I had to read this novel many times and also out of interest for study of characters. Great work, still it is fresh in my mind even after almost half a century. I just love it.

ವಂಶವೃಕ್ಷ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಓದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಸಿನೆಮಾ ತುಂಬಾ ಕೆಟ್ಟದಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತುಂಬಾ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ. ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಓದಿದಾಗ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಎನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಿನೆಮಾ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಪೆಚ್ಚಾ ಗುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಓದಿ ನಂತರ ಸಿನೆಮಾ ನೋಡಬೇಕು. ಓದದೇ ಹಾಗೇ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಅತೀ ಬೋರ್ ಆಗುತ್ತೆ. ಅತೀ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸಿನೆಮಾ ಅನ್ನಿಸಬಹುದು. ಇದನ್ನು ಪಿ ಶೇಷಾದ್ರಿ ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಕಾಸರವಳ್ಳಿ ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಹ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಿನೆಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಲಗೆಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Reading of the novel is more better than the movie. At least the movie needed fifty percent story of the novel.

🙏👍 good movie, after very..very long time I took time to watch this movie. Kannada katha nayaka Vishu appeared as young angry man the first screen shot and dialog is absolutely clicked for him and henceforth remained the same till now in the heart's of Kannada people, wearing the ring in his right hand. We all missing him so much. May the legend soul rest in peace.💐💐💐🙏
