(Our Recipe) By: Edena Lois Eakins Garman And Hansel B.Wood His and Her Baked Beans Now: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. To Begin: To a medium mixing bowl add; 1 can of Van Camp's Pork and Beans, along with the juice and the little piece of pork fat. 1 teaspoon, or more, of French's Mustard. 1/8 cup of your favorite barbeque sauce. A palmful of light brown sugar. A palmful of sliced, or diced, yellow onion. A bit of cooked and drained bacon, sausage, hamburger, or all of them together. Stir together. Place this into a buttered oven safe baking dish. I use a napkin to butter the dish. Place the baking dish onto the middle of the middle oven rack. Bake covered, or uncovered, for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove the hot dish onto a folded kitchen towel, or two stacked hot pads. Add a bit of shredded cheddar, or American Cheese, to the bubbly top of the baked beans. Enjoy! glwj and caegw.arr.ae.
Good video. Grad school is essentially enforced poverty. During that time of my life I lived on these canned beans. I added an additional product called deviled ham to increase the amount of actual pork.

These beans are teh best, been eating them for years. I have a cabin up in NW pennsylvania and it's always got at least one can kicking around. They're the perfect beans to me sweet but not excessively so (most Bush varities are too sugary for me) tender yet firm, not mushy, and perfect with hot dogs.
My dad used to buy Van De Camp's brand of Pork & Beans for my brothers and I and we would eat this with Barbecued Chicken, Ribs, Burgers, Hot Dogs, etc.
Van Camps are the BEST pork n beans on the market. Showboat & Campbells can't come close to these. They make a great sandwich also. We also use these to make our recipe of baked beans.

Over in Florida on vacation from the UK. I love baked beans. Got a tin of Van Camps PORK and beans. No pork, not even a sniff of pork. The ingredients list tells me there is more salt in the tin than pork. How do Van Camps get away with it. The tin should be labelled Beans with Pork Squeak which would be more accurate.
