Great video! I've watched your previous video regarding about this earring and I love it. So for my birthday I decided to made the purchase. I had the same problems, my pricing is very small and I was having a very hard time putting them on. Along with that, the backing is easy to put on, but hard to take off. I was surprised that every videos I came across no one really mentions about the post. I've been trying them on and off, still having a hard time to put it on. 🙂

Many people get used to the la pousette backings fairly quickly. Also VCA can give you the regular butterfly backings if you request it, don't assume that you have to wear them as is. They offer many customization options!

For most of my earrings, I want to cut off a few mm off the length 😂 The only perfect earring post I found was the Cartier Love single earring. That one is short enough and secure. Hi Irene. Thank you for doing this review. Like you I watched lots of RU-vid videos about this sweet Alhambra earrings and you’re so right about no one mentioning the three cons that you did. Had I known about the cons, I would have not bought them. But since I have them, I finally got accustomed to using the VCA backs and can feel the edge to squeeze the backing when removing the earrings. But at the beginning I struggled to find the right spot and that cause tugging and my earlobes got very red and irritated. Also, the post is unusually thick and my earlobes got red and inflamed each time I wore them. My solution: I put a bit of Neosporin ointment on the post to minimize the irritation to my earlobes and maybe I stretched the holes a little by wearing the earrings daily for a couple of weeks. Now, I can wear the earrings as is without any irritation. I do clean the posts with rubbing alcohol before and after each time I wear them. Thanks for sharing about the plastic backs from Amazon.

You're not supposed to wear the earrings as is if they don't fit your ears perfectly. VCA can adjust your earrings in multiple ways: longer or shorter posts, thicker or thinner posts, higher or lower post position, and tighter or loose tension for post backings. You should definitely schedule an appointment with your SA to go through all the options so the earrings can fit comfortably on you. I have the sweet pave alhambra as well and I've opted for the thinner & longer posts because I have thick earlobes. According to my SA, their earrings can be adjusted multiple times for free!

I have the exact same earrings and I love it. I’m not having a hard time maybe because my fingers are small and I have short nails. I wish i had gotten the vintage size though to make it more visible. I feel like this sweet alhambra earrings are only good for casual and not for special occasions. Great video, thanks for sharing

This also applies to Cartier earrings, they also use similar backings that require a push-in mechanism for the removal process. Just thought I would throw it out there

Beautiful earrings! I’ve heard that a lot of people have issues with the thick post and one of them has said that Van Cleef can adjust the post thickness free of charge.
I had to give away my Hermes earrings because of the same issue. I think more expensive earrings have this back for security. But it hurts my fingers when putting it on or taking it off. I should also buy those silicon backings!

Gorgeous earrings and you are right the thickness of the post and difficulty removing the back is not spoken of. I too love these rubber/plastic backings. However, Irene... Please *Change them Out* as needed because the *Rubber/Plastic Material Will BREAKDOWN* due to oils heat water etc and become loose. You do Not want to lose these Gorgeous earrings. These are my favorite earrings and I wear them all the time. I keep them on when I shower and sleep and i have no problems with the backing. I have fairly small ear lobes so maybe that helps, not sure.
Funny I have the same earrings and same problem and I used the rubbery back from my other earrings same like you have from Amazon ❤️thanks for bringing this up ❤️
That's a brilliant idea with the silicone backing. I actually own the pave sweet earstuds and the onyx as well, I must admit that putting them on and off was difficult at first but then I got used to it. The backing was difficult to put on as the front was very smooth and I couldn't find the hole easily so I started wearing the backs backward lol it was easier to find where to place the post. I prefer the sweet size over the vintage or the magic but I love the 2 motifs earrings as well. Great video as always! :)

I have the same earring back for my DeBeers diamond studs and they are the most secure and comfortable. I have stopped wearing earrings that Have a screw back because they would keep digging into the back of the ears during sleep.
Hi Irene you really do good review on vca earrings, I have earlobe irritation after 3rd I am wearing it on my mop vca sweet and I wearing it to sleep I believe so the post a bit thicker compared to normal earrings I was wondering if someone has same issue I found it in detail on your video thank you for review Irene

If you really find the la pousette backings difficult or annoying, they can change it to the regular butterfly backings so you don't have to resort to the cheap silicone backings from amazon - you really don't want to use them on your expensive earrings they're not secured at all. You should definitely schedule an appointment with your SA to go through all the options so the earrings can fit comfortably on you. I'm surprised your SA didn't already walk you through the customization options when you were purchasing them. I have the sweet pave alhambra and I've opted for the thinner & longer posts because I have thick earlobes, I'm fine with the la pousette backings because they're just as secured as screw backs so I left them as is, got used to them after taking them off and on in a few times. According to my SA, their earrings can be adjusted multiple times for free!

Yeah exactly what i had shared earlier about the back hook. I went to the store to try it on, huh...so so small and i can't remove it myself. The SA trying to sell it saying i will get used to it but i doubt so. It is also so so small. I know the earring is small but the hook i think they should make it a bit bigger. After trying it on, is a no no for me. I do not really have a lot of patient to slowly slowly take it off. Yes the post is very very short too. That why it makes it hard to put on and removed. Good game changer but with such a high price point of item, frankly i expect certain kind of perfection. Not saying all luxury houses are perfect or not many nowadays but what a shame to them. I hope they will improve on all these. So the problem is not just on you. Even in the store when i just tried it on, i quickly found that out. Good that they allow me to try since i thought i can't try it during this Covid. They just sanitized it. Oh one more con, the Onyx seems to have a lot of finger prints. i know from far one can't see but when you look closer, it does have this. The SA briefly mentioned she has to wipe it before selling because of this. So this is a Con for me. Thanks for sharing.
