Thanks for posting this, theres a few to choose from now. Can I ask if those grey tiles are actual tiles or a plastic tile effect sheet? Looks really smart.
I think this is more of a urine diverting toilet than a composting one in the vein of the natures head which mixes up the waste with coconut coir or peat moss. Still seems like a good option. Unlike the natures head you could line it with a bag, to make waste removal easy.
A really helpful video, thanks. You mention you were going to do a comparison video of different composting toilets, I would find this really interesting but can't work out which one it is. Could you include a link?
We have the Natures Head in our build from Vanlife Conversions and use Coconut Coir for the solids. You buy it in brick form and rehydrate it with some warm water and break it up. It works really well.
Hey guys couldn't find the comparison / review video you mentioned in this vid. Has it been published yet? Cheers sorry no pressure ;) Great work otherwise!
Was going to get one of these then saw they were £500, its literally 2 plastic storage containers inside a plastic box, with a toilet seat. Barely any moving parts, Small storage container: £5 ebay Large storage container £10 ebay Fan £15 ebay Fan tube £5 ebay So your essentially paying the remaining £465 for the plastic housing which is 3D printed, and the toilet seat, this is insane, you could buy a 3D printer for less than that. This should be in the 'I saw you coming' shop on Harry and Paul 😂
You can, they say you don't have to. Other advantage not shown is that you can line the bin (with biodegradable plastic liners if you're composting). Huge advantage for non-messy clean up.
@@vanlifeconversions Yes they have lids, but you obviously can't put a lid on it while in use. That's why the extremely wide opening didn't make sense to me. But I guess it's not an issue.
@@1nhonho No real major smell from ours. We use vinegar every time with a light vinegar starter. It smells more of vinegar than anything unless very full (which is also not advised driving when it's very full). You can also buy a second jar from them to save yourself from a pickle.
