Our underfloor grey water tank will collect the water from the kitchen sink and also the water from our composting toilet. So we will not use a canister to collect the piss which is nasty to empty, but everything goes directly into our main waste water tank which we can empty at a camp ground dump station with a big ball valve. The video will show you exactly how to build an underfloor water tank for your van.

add a riser tube to your breather/overflow so that braking doesn't foul your ball valve handle...

Your channel is a huge blessing for my case of conversion! An Indian commercial vehicle maker had licensed Mercedes T1 model rights to produce it for Indian market, and seeing that most conversions are of sprinter van which is non-existent in Indian market, so seeing your van match my van model and to see the same ideas being executed on it, it is really resourceful to know that! Thanks a lot! I have seen photos of the Force Traveller, but never seen the van in reality. I was always wondering when they changed the original Mercedes front to the modern front, because I couldn't find this info online. Are there many camper conversions in India or are camper vans very rare? Cheers, Mike

@@CubeofCars Yes Force did there own modifications\uplifts later to stay with current time's demands after selling the old front for a long time. The Indian camper van scene has just begun, it's now slowly picking up, but still quite a handful of people. We have a long way to go, it's a bit challenging here due to the density of population and no awareness around it. Let's see, the handful of people and the pandemic has changed perception.

Good tidy job just ensure isolation between the aluminium and dissimilar metals to prevent corrosion

Thanks :) There is no contact between the aluminium box and the chassis of the van. But there are steel bolts in the box. Is that a problem?

@@CubeofCars look up on the net. When aluminium comes in contact with steel it will error through electrolys over time. A few years. So always isolate with an insulator or bolts that are coated for use in aluminium. It’s a well known issue.

Super Video, danke dafür. Ich bin auch am überlegen, den Urinbehälter der TTT direkt in den Abwassertank laufen zu lassen. Habe aber von verschiedenen Seiten gehört, dass es dann zur unangenehmen Geruchsbelästigung kommen könnte, wenn sich der Urin mit dem Wasser vermischt. Zumindest bei der Entleerung, die Siphons sollten ja als Geruchsbarriere nach innen ausreichen.

Hi Ralf, ich muss natürlich auch erst sehen, wie sich das im Alltag bewährt, aber innen kann es mit den Siphons bei Waschbecken und Klo eigentlich nicht stinken. Beim der Entleerung wäre es mir völlig egal. Bleibt als Risiko die Tankentlüftung unter dem Van... da muss man mal sehen. Notfalls würde ich mir da noch einen Aktivkohlefilter an den Lüftungsschlauch basteln... LG, Mike

The guidelines on the disposal of urine must vary by region. I know that in the US and at least some other countries, urine is considered blackwater and must be disposed of as such. OTH, I'll readily step off a hiking trail and avail myself of a bush or tree, so there is that.

Fantastic content. You have an eye for quality and detail. I'm thinking of replicating something similar for my Ford Transit. Are there any concerns about the the straps being able to hold 30kg + aluminum frame? I see the tension lines are rated for 150 kg load capacity, but I could see the tank going over a bump and causing some dynamic loads that would be cutting it close. Also, curious if you've noticed any movement/sounds from it be hung instead of fixed?

Hi Sean, the straps hold 150kg (each!), so they are definitely strong enough for such a small tank. Important is that the straps are so tight that they press the tank up to the chassis. That's why I added the rubber on top of the tank in the area of contact to the chassis. As my straps also run front to back instead of left to right, there is no way of movement in case of heavy braking. So the tank is fixed (not loosely hung). And I haven't noticed any sounds. Du hast recht, es wird Zeit.... Eigentlich habe ich auch schon Rohmaterial für zwei weitere Videos, jetzt müßte ich nur mal die Zeit finden, um daraus präsentable Videos zu basteln.... ;)
