To be honest, that is very impressive. Not only can you paint "The Starry Night" on water, but you can paint Van Gogh's face on water too. The way you created this artwork is just like magic. Also, the first movement from "Piano Sonata No.14", popularly known as "Moonlight Sonata", is a great choice for the background music. To conclude, amazing video! I love it very much!
😂😂😂😂 a lot of artists do it to avoid maintaining any emotional connection with their work. Even monks at Buddhist monasteries who spend weeks at a time making marble dust mandalas, destroy their work once they're done, and then start over.
@@anirudhbhattacharya9469 yes If your too Emotional with your art when it's destroyed You literally get destroyed yourself It's has happened to me But yeah. 😂
this is kind of even more interesting if u consider starry night actually emulates turbulence in fluid flows, so this is emulated turbulence of fluids in real fluids
I almost cried when you 'destroyed' the first piece of art-the interpretation of his starry night paintings. That is, until I watched you transform it into the Van Gogh portrait. Oh my goodness. I could watch this over and over, and I will! Watching you is alternately inspiring-soothing-mezmerizing-and upsetting-unsettling...in the best way possible. Makes me long to be able to do this.
the only bad thing about this video is that it has an end talking serious right now, I absolutely loved it! Moonlight Sonata is one of my favourite songs ever, and Van Gogh is one of my favourite artists ever. And you, you're an amazing artist! Thank you for sharing your art with the world :)
I love how the piano goes along with the skipping, it's so satisfying PS, it's my birthday today! (04/17) Edit: oh darn. I didn't think this would get likes. Have a great dayXD
For those who don't know this art, it's an ottoman art called "Ebru", which is very widespread in Turkey. All of the materials we use are made by natural products. We mixe the water with "kitre", which is a natural gum (tragacanth in english, I think?) obtained from the dried sap of a plant grows in middle and eastern regions of Turkey. When we've mixed it, we have to let it stand few hours. The handle of the brush is made of branch of rosebush (cause rose has always been a very important plant in islam and islamic art, it represents the prophet Mohammad, like the tulip which reprensents Allah). The bristle is made of ponytail because it absorbs the paint better and drop it quicker than other materials. The paints are made of soil for pale or natural colours like white, brown, etc. and made of plant pigments for the other colours. We add water to the paint (just a little) and gall liquid, obtained from cows (the quantity of gall is really really important, and we don't put the same quantity of gall to each bottle of paint). The preparation of the water (kitre) and of the paints are really important , we prepare it by ourselves. Hope you understand, and sorry if I made any mistakes, I'm Turkish :)
Like many others who speak English as a second or even as their 12th language, you speak it quite well, and far better than the average American. Well done, and thank you for adding the information, which are the natural questions we have about the art. If only more people would learn about other cultures and their meanings from real people, and not the spoon-fed lies they get from their news sources, there would be much greater understanding in the world. One thing most of us have in common, we love our friends and families, we have great art, food, dance, and culture to share, and it's just as easy to have a party together as it is to not get along. We can all celebrate life together, and share our finer points. It's all a choice, thank you for choosing to share what you know of this beautiful art form, it adds a deeper understanding :)
hi:) i would like to try doing something like this, but i dont know exactly what would i need :/ Can you explain me which are the materials?? Thanks for sharing your know knowledge:)
This is absolutely beautiful. One thing to note: The use of light is a hugely important aspect of Vincent's intent with this painting. To him, light was often used as a symbol of the presence of God. In Starry Night, he very intentionally left the church unlit as a way of expressing that, in his perspective, the presence of God was found not in the church (as an institution), but in the people and in the heavens.
Can you tell us some Van Gogh reference, where it says that in light and darkness, light represents God? What he has stated (in a letter to his brother) is that even in the most desolate natural landscape there is the presence of man. His painting is a frenzied childish play, between light and darkness, between man and nature. Where, nature resembles man and man with nature
Our lovely actor late Sushant Singh Rajput was one of fans of art... And he loved this painting of Van Gorh he put it as his Twitter account's background picture... Now he is also left us... With unsolved mysteries of his death... We all very broken hearted 💔 it's already been so many days have passed but still... Can't believe in it... We still love and will be ❤️
You reminded me of Doctor Who episode about Van Gogh. There was a scene where Doctor took Van Gogh to our times and he saw his paintings in the art gallery and heard a man telling that Van Gogh was a great artist
Van Gogh would burn and destroy every painting. He was a disgrace for society back then, he ows us nothing. If he saw the cynicism that we treat him now after he killed himself he would vomit. It's disgusting. He would have wished to be forgotten forever in these fake planet.
Your skill is breath taking. My 8 year old grandson watched this with me without moving. He's normal speed is faster & faster but he will take tablet and watch this video over & over for 40-50 minutes at a time. He loves your work. Once you've finished the 1st painting he will say now make the painter man. Thank you for the joy you bring into his day.
Let's agree there are enough classic moonlight / nightsky related works that would have gone all too well with this, but the choice is fantastic nonetheless
Gerçekten Ebru sanatı o kadar zor ki. Ebru hocam her zaman siz su üzerinde hakimiyet kuramazsınız boya istediği yere gider derdi sizin böylesine bir resmi su üstünde yapmanız beni gerçekten hayrete düşürdü. Çünkü biliyorum ki en basitinden bir çiçeği yapmak bile o kadar zor ki emeğinize sağlık muhteşem
We love how if you cease to exist, if not with enough care to detail. No one would have really noticed. Thankful for that second view of self and self persepvative methods to creatint a perseptive individual.
Not sure the proper pronunciation of Gough(😯only he will ever know lol). Ik I pronounce it like "Go," and Dr. Black(aka. Bill Nighy aka. museum guy in Doctor Who) pronounces it more like "Gawf," so to each their own, unless u have a TARDIS to take u back to the real Van Gough who'll tell u the proper pronunciation
PokeyFlame 2 if you really want to know the most realistic way is search one of his brothers grand grand children (or something like that) in Holland because they are still alive
I love how you incorporated Van Gogh's personality into this performance and art. I am glad that you connected the symbolism of you smashing up the starry night into a self portrait to Van Gogh's depression and his problems that he faced of being unaccepted and unappreciated by the common folk.
I wish I could knew a fantasy way of saying that awesome, other than saying it's awesome. The whole process was like a play. Thank you this is truly a gift
Idk why youtube recommend this to me just now! That's absolutely amazing and I'm so glad I clicked on the video! That's awesome and I'm amazed by the effort that you put into this.
I'm an artist, and I know just how bloody difficult it is to control this. All I can say is WOW!!!! Absolutely blown away. You are truly a master of your craft! Subbed, Liked and Shared!
Yes! Especially the church and the houses at 2:24. Oil paints on water don't like to stay in straight lines. My brain hurts just by thinking about how the artist even knew how to do that.
At first, I was like, eh that's interesting. Starry night, sure sure... ... Then you started the real painting. And BLEW my mind. Esp when you synced it with Moonlight Sonata. Brilliant.
Funny how some people don’t realise how difficult this art is- speaking generally from my experience. I hope one day it would be understood more deeply. This video especially, includes a modern understanding of the traditional art and has a really unique touch. Good job!
They keep all the good stuff for themselves and just give you the stupid things they think this makes them smarter but actually it makes them stupid asses.
@@WAJD1 nobody asked about when or where is it came out first? and what's up with holy books and your sarcastic attitude? stop trying to start a fight.
