Oh guys, as I saw the title I started to laugh quite hard. 😂 This was on MTV constantly! Yes, Van Halen was a fantastic band!! Absolutely huge in the 80s and some into the 90s! This song had a few parents in an uproar(especially the video)as well.😅 There was one other lead singer off and on, Sammy Hagar. He had great solo hits as well. Eddie Van Halen died of tongue cancer in 2020. He was a brilliant guitar player! His son Wolfgang was the band's bassist from 2006 to 2020 before his dad died and the band disbanded. He now has a solo career in the same genre.

In 10th grade we had a very good looking teacher for World History, Mrs Gall. She gave us a take home project covering the Storming of the Bastille. We made a video pretending to be a news channel. At the end of it we rolled the "credits" and had hot for teacher playing. We made an A. This was back in '93 i think.

Van Halen sounds like 80s Glam Rock/Hair Metal, because everyone in the 80s was trying to look like David Lee Roth, and sound like Eddie Van Halen. These guys started this sound in the 1970s, when everyone else was trying to sound like Zeppelin.

Eddie was considered one of the best guitarists in rock. He broke many a girl's heart when he married Valerie Bertinelli. That also broke some boys' hearts since she was a teenage boys' dream girl. Moms loved her, so she would have been a good catch.

Alex Van Halen couldn't get the choreography down, so they eventually gave up and went with what they had, that's why the little dance sequences were an unholy mess.

I would love to see you guys do a reaction to Eddie Van Halen's 1986 live guitar solo performance - "Eruption". I saw him live on five different occasions. ARGUABLY, he's considered by many the best guitarist ever. If you watch this video you will hear sounds you've never heard with your ears.

Van Halen got two major breaks when they were starting out: 1) Gene Simmons of Kiss saw them play and financed their demo and tried getting them signed, but no record label would sign them. 2) Van Halen briefly toured with Black Sabbath. Ozzy was so embarrassed that this unknown California backyard party band blew Black Sabbath away that they got thrown off the tour.

Mammoth WVH IS Wolfgang Van Halen Eddies sons band. He has a single out now called I’m alright. For at least his first record he played all of the instruments himself for the studio version. He is a very talented singer as well 😊

BP1 thank you for reminding me how old I am - I was in high school in 1984 when you were being spoon fed. 😂 One of my classes has a new very pretty teacher who just graduated from college. She had to be exhausted at the end of the day because all of the 14 and 15 year old boys that had the biggest crush on her and did ANYTHING to volunteer to help her - even when she didn't ask. But what a great sport she was! Too be young again! RIP to Eddie Van Halen❤

They were just as much as a Dutch band as they were an American band. I was always surprised that Max Verstappen didn’t use that Alex Van Halen’s drum solo on this because it sounds like an engine roaring. Oh by the way, Eddie Van Halen is the guitar player. Alex Van Halen is the drummer and they’re both or were both amazing..

The 'bus driver' is David Lee Roth & he is one of two lead singers Van Halen Had at different times. The other was Sammy Hagar. I love Van Halen's song 'Jump' with David on lead vocals. When he was doing his solo thing, he had some fun stuff too like 'Just a gigolo. The fabulous guitarist was Eddie Van Halen, may he rest in peace.' He started the band & sadly passed away at age 65 of a stroke, 3 years ago. And videos in those days were too funny. They were a fun band.

Loved VH when David Lee Roth was front man, he was so good! But it reminded me of another David...a British David from the 80's who is just as amazing. This song came out when I was in high school. This captured how many guys felt about school. The boredom of class and feeling like you're locked in, and then you get that one new, young teacher and you've got something a lot better to think about than how long until it is time to escape...

Welcome to the 1980's. When this song/video/album came out in 1984 the same year i reached puberty. This video stirred urges i never had before. FYI the voice of Waldo in the beginning was voiced by former SNL comic/actor Phil Hartman. He was friends with the Director.

👀 I preferred the video rather than the song, it has to be said 😂😂😂 There were definitely no candidates for a hot teacher at my school. Our physics teacher had definite mad scientist vibes, our P.E. teacher was nicknamed Female Russian Shot Putter (think Ivan Drago in a gym skirt), and we 'lovingly' referred to our maths teacher as Hitler's girlfriend (we didn't literally call her that, but what we DID call her wouldn't get past YT standards 😇)

VH is the ultimate party music band. You really should check out more from them, particularly their earlier stuff. VH 1, or Women and Children First or Fair Warning would be the 3 albums I would suggest. David Lee Roth left the band in 85' and was replaced by frontman/lead singer Sammy Hagar. From that era I would suggest these albums. 5150 and OU812.

In April 2023 Eddy's guitar (named 'Frankenstrat') as seen in the video, was sold by Sotheby's for $3.9 million USD and was likely a very good investment . The opening bid for Eddy's guitar was more than Eric Clapton's famous 'Blackie' guitar sold for. Built by Eddy himself, the Frankenstrat was his attempt to combine the sound of a classic Gibson guitar with the physical attributes and tremolo bar functionality of a Fender Stratocaster.
