David lee Roth was a good showman but Freddie Mercury was a legend at it. But then again, I in my old age would put Ozzy, and AC/DC in the same light. They are legends. Happy to see you younger generation open your horizons our (yours and mine) legends of music
I'm Black, and I bought this song when it first came out in the 80's. This performance was absolutely fantastic. And both David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen are so cute. Rip EVH💖
David Lee Roth was a great frontman and performer. I bet you'd love his music video to "Just a Gigolo". Also Eddie Van Halen, the guitarist of the band passed away recently. He's considered a virtuoso and one of the most influential guitarists. His Eruption Solo is iconic and he also played the solo in Michael Jackson's "Beat it". Van Halen was a real fun band.
Eddie's smile is part of what made him so great. Instead of trying to look hard like so many musical artists tend to do, Eddie always had that big warm smile of his and it was wasn't just for show nor was it for the cameras. It was just part his natural demeanor to smile and it always made him stand out.
Van Halen was more than a concert, it was an experience. If you missed the 80's it is gone, this is pure rock and roll. The 80's were all about fun. This decade was shaking off the disco era, and creating there own sound.
@@mikecee3351 Why Google it when I've talked to him about it. Just read Van Halens managers book Running with the Devil. Noel Monk talks about it there too. Sorry but you are wrong.
I may be biased, but when David Lee Roth came to town with Van Halen, the whole town shut DOWN. They've had so many different lead singers, but DLR was always my fave.
Um Joely??? There's only been three lead singers, David Sammy Hagar and, Gary Cherone so "so many" was only 3. Gary was only around for a very short while, and David came back in the end in short hair and arthritic stiffness. Maybe that's why you think there were more, maybe???
Van Halen (pronounced with a "hard A") is the surname of Eddie (guitartist/keyboardist)& Alex (drummer). Yeah. It was technically their band, & Eddie was the virtuoso; all the members had a distinctive appealing personality & image, but it was David Lee Roth who brought the show. "Diamond Dave" was with the group since they started & broke big in the late 70s, until 1985 when personality issues & artistic differences finally split the group as it had been up to that time.
You definitely missed out, it was a lot of fun, party and none of this political, and social cancel culture stuff, nobody was offended so easily, just fun!!
@GFrank2 When you're in the pub with your friends, go to take a leak (again), look up trough a toilet window and realize that sun is already up. Your neighbors are going to work and you are not sure are they giving you looks because they envy you, or they think you are worst looser in the world. Good times.
I’m saddened by how much music the black community is sheltered from which is why I love your reaction to music you’ve never heard before. It’s one of my favorite things ever. You get it, you’re passionate and you pick up on the groove. Black music contributions are amazing and legendary and I love when you pick up on something you’ve never been shown before
I was 14 I came home and on the local station and David Lee Roth was jumping off a giant speaker. The first time I saw Van Halen I immediately bought all their records. The soundtrack of our youth. RIP Eddie
This is what Al Bundy was talking about in the "How Was Your Day" video (when you said you didn't know what that was). He was talking about the aerobics studio above his shoe store. "Then they played Van Halen's Jump... and damned if the whole herd didn't.
hey girl another awsome video. van halen is the last name of the lead guitar and the drummer. david lee roth is the singer. and this type if rock is hair metal/glam metal. the best rock haha. nu rock is way to whiney for me. love the vids keep it up :)
80’s concerts were high energy. You could barely stand as you left. We danced and sang for the entire show. No cell phones back so nothing better to do than enjoy the music and the crowd.
What a grand time to be 13 years old! I was a long haired hoodlum and wouldn't trade my 80s life for anything! Now, its been 40 years since this came out. Bittersweet...
Imagine going out with your friends and having a wild time without the slightest thought even crossing your mind that you needed to take a picture of it.
David Lee Roth was known for being energetic and outrageous. Always gave a great show. Eddie van Halen was arguably the greatest guitar player of all time. Check out his monster guitar solo in 'Eruption' - it'll blow your mind!
Van Halen was a classic hair band of the 80's, especially with David Lee Roth fronting them and the amazing Eddie Van Halen on guitar. A few tracks to look for include Ice Cream Man, Why Can't This Be Love, Jamie's Cryin', Ain't Talkin' ;bout Love, and Hot For Teacher. You will love them!
The Pointer Sisters had a song called "Jump" out at the same time in 84..............The 80s were, in the parlance of our times, pardon my terms, "The Shit"........
RIP Eddie. Watching people react to one of my favorite bands makes me smile. I was 14 years old when this album came out and was my introduction to Van Halen. Thanks for reacting and sharing it with us!
And Van Halen was just an extension of the Led Zeppelin look / formula; Blonde front man, crazy talented guitarist, heavy drumming. How many bands copied Led Zeppelin? Most rock bands in 70s, 80s, etc ...
David Lee Roth was a great front man/singer. Eddie Van Halen is the 🎸 player/soloist with dark hair. He recently passed away 😢 I think Roth is now a cop...not sure though 🤔 Love all your reactions!🎶🎵💯👍
He's not a cop and never has been a cop. He's still in music and was on tour until the pandemic stuff put a stop to everybody touring. He's also an artist on the side. 👍
PLEASE react to Huey Lewis and the News "Walking on a Thin Line"! Please find the video that has the thumbnail of the Vietnam Vets statue..... the song is about them AND ITS GREAT! Also, PLEASE DO "SEND HER MY LOVE" BY JOURNEY....... IT IS MY FAVORITE SONG BY MY FAVORITE BAND!! PLEASE PLEASE...... YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Try to find the one where they are in concert and STEVE PERRY (BEST SINGER EVER) is in a white jacket! THANKS IN ADVANCE! The song has a special place in my heart because it always reminds me of my first love....... that I lost. It would make my day to see you react to it!:) Again, please find the one that has them in concert and Steve Perry in a white jacket...... Its the best version IMO!:) I have MANY other songs that would give you a high number of views, I'm sure, if you would want them..... I have always been into music, especially back when it was the GREATEST! R.I.P EDDIE VAN HALEN...... YOU WERE THE BEST BROTHER!
Yes!! You missed out, the 80's were the best. Van Halen, the DLR era, was an all out party. I'm lucky I survived the 80's. I had the time of my life!!!
I graduated from HS in 84. I was center stage front row same yr. David Lee and Van Halen came to Detroit. He was that active from start to finish. This video didn't show just how acrobatic, talented and entertaining. Best guitar player ever (very bold statement I know) is in the band, Eddie Van Halen. Watch his solo "Eruption". Great reaction!
I seen them in concert 4 times in the 80a with David Lee Roth and he was wide open everytime from start to finish. Check out " hot for teacher" think you would like that one 💯🤘
It's funny they fired him because if his on Stage antics.. they ended up hiring sammy hagar the red rocker.." I can't drive 55" he is a great vocalist himself but not as flamboyant. I like "pound cake" but the early stuff with diamond Dave I think you would like is. "Hot for teacher" I'm a a serious rock musician I like the early stuff like "main Street" and "eruption" with the great guitar work from Eddie
80s were wild times. Uninhibited. Unadulterated. FUN. Yes, you missed out. Everyone I know who lived the decade aches to go back, including me. It was a special era never to be repeated.
I saw them twice and it was amazing. BIG PARTY! I was in High School at the time, and yes the 80's was all about having a good time and party, party, party. Great Reaction. Subcribing.
Rip Eddie Van Halen. His son has a rock album coming out in a few months. He plays all the instruments and sings. You missed the old Van Halen era. But a new one is about to begin.
One of the best bands of ALL time! SO many Van Halen tunes you need to listen to. Take the 80s pill because there is a whole lost world that many in this generation haven't experienced... Every genre in that decade was gold. Pop, metal, rock, soft rock, funk, R&B, etc. Lot's of choices for you...Listen to Guns n Roses, Paradise City, next.
It was pure joy to see them live. ..... R. I. P. Edward Van Halen. And yes, the 80's were the best decade to be alive in. Today's scene sucks in comparison.
This era of music was about the songs and show. Fleetwood Mac & Heart put on great shows with probably the most powerful female singers, check the live performances of Rhiannon & Crazy on You
Dave lee roth is an absolute ledgend.Actually for years when they played one of the clubs i think in hollywood, dave was called van, lol. dave has had a lot of surgery on his back in recent years bless him.check out his website.always reinventing himself.popular with the ladies our dave! lol
Van halen is the drummer and lead guitar players name. The singers name is diamond Dave. David Lee Roth. Probably the best front man besides led zeppelins singer robert plant. Eddie van halen the guitar player is considered one the top 5 guitarist of all time.you should check out some of there early songs.saddly we lost eddie van halen not long ago to throat cancer.
"Diamond" David Lee Roth does put on a show. There is a lot of back-story to the band and the 80's. They weren't all they appeared. I wouldn't want to be friends but I would like to go out for a drink with them. David Lee Roth is fascinating to listen to in his interviews.
Since you asked: Panama - the Live Version from Tokyo in 1989. I know im gonna be crucified for this as it's with Sammy Hagar, but the Performance is amazing
Eddie Van Halen was the dark-haired guy playing lead guitar. He just died here a couple of months ago. The lead singer is David Lee Roth. The name of the group is Van Halen. Pronounced HAY’-lin.
Hearing when it came out I thought they were singing "Might as well Joe! Go ahead Joe" then the KLOS DJ came on and said "Van Halen Jump!" Love Van Halen!
