Those ghost notes he plays on the snare during the "catch.. chase... catch"... I had no idea those were even there. But what's cool about that is had Alex not included those in those parts, it wouldn't have sounded the same
BurnoutJonathan02 Productions It’s annoying that the Grohl fanboys were so quick to forget AVH was doing the ride cymbal wash LONG before he was ever known for it.
@@Fakename70 seriously??? That doesn't surprise me. At the same time, those were likely younger fans in their teens. And because of the age demographic, Nirvana and Foo Fighters might have been easier to access that Van Halen. If I have the approximate timeframe right, then Van Halen was also in the middle of, yet, another period of dysfunction and dissolution as Sam left the band, and in came Gary Cherone. Meanwhile, the Foo Fighters are out there killing it. And on top of that Dave Grohl knows how to "relate" to the fanbase and younger fans. He's very good at this too, as I've seen him really go the extra mile for the fans So having said that, its really no surprise how that could happen. People just were not running and gunning for Van Halen. Too many unpopular decisions with detrimental outcomes were what the band became KNOWN for, which is really a bummer since it did not have to be that way That's just my own analysis as to how and why that might have been
I love these drum tracks. Great job. I'm curious as to why there are no isolated drum tracks for the Van Hagar era. I can't find them anywhere. Is there a technical reason for this? Is it just harder to isolate the drum track? I know next to nothing about this kind of thing.
If there is no multitrack, then it is impossible to qualitatively isolate the drum track from the stereo mix. All you can do is get a very poor quality drum track. But progress does not stand still, I think in 15-20 years it will become possible.
These isolated tracks are usually taken from the game files of Guitar Hero: Van Halen. When making the game they used the ACTUAL original recordings from the studio, which meant they were able to separate each instrument and import them into the game as separate tracks. This was done so that they could tweak each instrument individually to be better suited for the game, for example if you were playing bass, the bass track would be louder than normal so that you could hear what you were playing better. So any song that was in the game will have a video like this. But sadly there were no Van Hagar era songs in the game so its basically impossible to isolate the instruments for those songs without going into the studio.
@@Aidan.w ahhhh interesting. The idea of how the only way the guitar hero game would have bee possible is... just like you said... by separating the various guitar drumm and bass tracks. Fai, to do that, and you do t have a properly functioning game
@@jackmomma7481 Thats very true. Particularly for the bass and drums it would be quite hard to hear what you were supposed to be playing if they just played at the normal volumes
One of my absolute favourite VH songs, especially together with Pt.1 ! 😍👍 And although I've known it since '82, I *still* don't quite understand what's happening rhythmically between 0:38 and 0:44 ! 😆
