I picked up the Bundle. It’s sounding good. I’ll be adding some new snapshots to EVH and Boston patches to capture a few more tones. Suggest continuing to work on EJ tone and include clean and fuzz tones. 👌🏻🎸🖖🏻
Can't seam to get close to that with my Line 6 HX Stomp. What am I missing man? Yours sounds so much more stereo and reverb to me. Do you have a great preset for an HX Stomp?
What a nice surprise this morning. Great ear you have Glen! Picked up the bundle to support the cause. Pop over to discuss funding for Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, and Alex Lifeson tone products for Helix and AxeFxIII platforms. You know why! All my best...ADO
@@user-qr7ee2cp4y Aint a thing wrong with that my dude. I have a helix and it is all I use for electric, acoustic and bass. Even the earlier models going all the way back to the original l6 bean still sound great. Check out more recent reviews, the haters convinced everyone they were awful when they weren't. While the current lines have improved, these older units are perfectly serviceable
Modeller's properly crafted are easily capable of sounding like an amp , If you're an audience member at a full volume gig you certainly wouldn't be able to tell the difference .
Fantastic tone Glen, I have purchased your pack and will try them out tonight. Just wanted to ask, where did you get the backing tracks for VH1 minus the guitar? Would be great to jam along with those too! Keep up the great content!
@@GlenHyden great sound! What would you say the biggest difference is between using a modeler through an FRFR as opposed to am amp through a cab? I have not had a modeler unit but people say the feel is completely different because with the FRFR set up you don't get that air moving amp thump or low end
@@allboutthemojo If the FRFR has a 12" speaker it should move alot of air. The biggest difference is the high end. Guitar cabs do not go as high in the frequency range. So controlling the high-end is imperative on a FRFR. You don't want insect attracting overtones. The 8in FRFR speaker does not thump as well as a 4x12. A Headrush 12" will give you the what for.😎
@@GlenHyden ok. I've been trying to see comparisons between the different frfr speakers. Came across someone who said that a powered frfr like the laney is much better than something like a headrush
Sounds great man Would I be able to download this on the helix LT? The $1000 one… and also could I connect it to the boss katana 2? Appreciate any insight!!
Hey! Thanks for the video. I recently purchased a helix LT and downloaded your VH tome. Says I’m missing an IR. I know there are a ton out there. Any suggestions? Thanks!
@@GlenHyden My question was related to the number of blocks you use: is it more than 8 or no? Because if no it will work with Stomp (well unless you hit its single DSP limit). I understand the blocks content is your trade secret ;) but the number of blocks should not be ;)
@@marekgitarzysta5193 It is 15 blocks. I just tried 8 blocks with removing compression, a echo channel, a volume pedal and clean app and chorus. It may work for you?
Excellent tones Glen ! Picked up the Bundle yesterday, amazing deal you are giving us for all the hard work on the patches. The patches also sound incredible with DiMarzio Sonic Ecstasy pups BTW. On the EVH patch, I notice a slight more pan right out of the monitors....is that setup purposely that way for the modulation/delays ?? :)
Yes Glen.....the Dimarzio John Petrucci Sonic Ecstasy pickups are sonically perfect in my opinion. Best I've played..!!😁🎸. A factory set in my Monarchy Majesty 6....and I put a set in my Zakk Wylde Bullseye Epiphone. Let me know what you think once installed. More Dream Theater patches for Helix please..!!🎸😎
The original Van Halen 1 album, and some of the following ones had Ed’s reverb and delay pan to the right. So I’m guessing Glen did this for authenticity.
The ir won't show up as available, but it shows in the ir list up by the present. just doesn't show up where you can pick it up from the list. also my clean sound is distorted
@@GlenHydenin edit it shows up in 101 in irs, but if you go over to irs in the list where amps, cabs, effects etc. the irs don’t show up there, but my other irs do
