I love this version of this song. Very little keyboards and Eddie doing almost everything that was done on the keys on the guitar. And it sounds great!
I can never say goodbye to Van Halen ever Van Halen is like something that you don’t miss into you don’t have it anymore and you see the true brilliance of the band that just Eddie everybody know if he was great, but the brilliance of the vocals, even with Rawls, but Sammy to me was the best part of Van Halen
Eddie plays in-the-pocket so good in this vid. When I was starting out on guitar it was always waiting for his solos in the songs but as i've matured as a player, i've realized that the guy's rhythm style has very good taste. The prechorus in this song is my favorite-he doesn't overplay and its just right
This version is so nostalgic to me. I had it recorded in a VHS back then. So nice to watch it again, it remembers me and my friends in the living room watching it and having a good time together.
This song reminds me of when I met a girl on the bus and then shortly after getting off the bus thing song played on iHeartRadio Q104 New York. We dated a bit but it never lasted and now I LOVE this song!
@unrepeatable raddish sammy is the only hope left, both have been fantastic for the band in different ways but dave is done, sammy still has a little bit left in the tank.
Eddie gave us like 35 years of the best he ever could give...And he had his own life to try and live.....if we could only ever allow him the grace to be a human and not just EVH then we could accept the fact the man had a divorce and tongue cancer around the same time. "God" graces us with pieces of itself, and "Satan" makes us try and tear it down....humans right????
Assuming this song was recorded, album version, with the main backing being the synthesizer? Earlier videos show Eddie playing keyboard and Sam playing guitar. This version is certainly different than the record. I gotta say, I love this version with Eddie playing guitar exclusively. It gives the song a new feel and Eddie just sounds so perfect all the time. There's just never going to be anyone like him ever again.
Remember this was also dubbed the "ambulance" tour due to health issues with Alex and Eddie plus I think Sammy was going through a sore throat in this performance.
And yet ANOTHER reason why they shouldn't have been on tour. Like Sammy or hate him, he was right. Those injuries and physical problems only aggravated their problems with one another. Who is in a good mood when they're sick or injured?
I enjoyed the Balance tour. It is sad to think this was the album that broke up the best version. Imagine a lead singer that would sing the previous lead singers stuff, but better. However that previous lead singer won’t do the same. Just unfortunate that things moved apart the way it did. I still have hope that they will do a Wolfuniuon.
