Van life: Everything went wrong (I was going to delete this) 

Being with companions is overrated in my opinion. I LOVE being alone!! And so do lots of family members. We all hate talking on the phone too, so we only call each other if we have to. Think about it: When you are alone, you are free to do WHATEVER you want to do. You don't have to worry about pleasing someone else all the time. You're free!!! It's a wonderful feeling!!! And it's cheaper! lol. But, you also have all of us, so, you aren't really alone! 😊

I go to restaurants, bars, and elsewhere alone. I'm my best friend.

For real. Its watching the everyday stuff that is interesting, too. It's watching you navigate through life, both the good and bad, happy and sad. It's all of it. It's just bring with you. P.s. my all time favorite was the cook off, because you were a natural at facilitating the judges thoughts and comments. Also... there is something about seeing you interact and jump through that normal awkwardness we all feel and experience when we want to connect with people but we don't know how to break through that "moment" of awkwardness, because you show us how its done. Best to you You are a good and nice person, and seeing and feeling your kindness is one of the things that makes you fun to "hang with."

Yes, for a video titled "It all went wrong", it seems like it ended up pretty right, at the beach at sunset! Bet you were really glad you built that roof deck! Lars was amazing at bathtime. My husband walked thru as I was watching. I said "Oh, no...Dude's fixin' ta give his cat a bath!" (We have cats.) He goes "Uh-oh, watch out!" I was worried about your phone sitting nearby. Cut to...Lars gazing up at you adoringly as Daddy's cuddling him in a towel. SUCH a Good Boy! 😽😽😽

Try small things first. Like going to the park and sitting at a table or bench and read or post online. What helped me is photography. Photography is a hobby that's hard to do with others. The camera is sort of a crutch. You don't have to look at people nor do you see people looking at you. 😉

My last few years living in SoCal years ago, I was totally chicken to go to a few new coffee shops. I had gone to the movies (matinee) and had late night dinners alone at the restaurant around the corner from my home alone many times, but never had the courage to go to those coffee places. Big regret. Back in my hometown, I plan on going to a new coffee shop/laundromat (!) soon as I can get a new mobility scooter!

I agree, I lived alone for 10 years after college and it was glorious! Unfortunately, I am back with my parents to save up money, and I really miss the solitude!

I lived in a car for 3 days bout 40 years ago. No it was not fun. But a bigger space and having all organized would be ok, but I like my garden ,herbs, stable shelter during a storm, like a basement. I love to travel tho. Maybe weekends!

It was the Wednesday matinee for me!!! It's still something I love to do alone.

​@GypsyCNA it is not like you talk with someone at the movies. I do this with plays, comedians etc. (You can find 1 ticket cheaper than 2-4 altogether.)

​@GypsyCNA. You'll love it. You can get so fully immersed in the movie on a big screen when you're alone. Years ago, I went to see "The Remains of the Day", with Anthony Hopkins, by myself. It was a rainy day in Memphis, but when the camera would pan out over the beautiful English countryside in the movie, it was so gorgeous I would gasp! (And, I was the only one in the theatre, which was pretty cool...had it all to myself.) That began my occasional solo movie getaways. Also saw 'La Vie en Rose' alone, the one about Edith Piaf that Marie Cotillard (sp) won the Oscar for. So fun watching her dash through the streets of a Paris of yesteryear, then step outside and be like a mile from home. Like a total mini-escape! Try to go at a time when the theatre's not busy...you'll enjoy it more!

I am almost 70 and started going to movies alone when I was a young adult. I have lots of people to do things with but it also feels good to be alone and enjoy my own company. I think it's good to have a balance of people time and solitary time.

You think you stand out…try not to feel that way, I know its hard..I am very conscious of this for others why I don’t post anymore on facebook if I do things because when you look at social media seems like everyone is doing something..well…not true, I always tell my daughter people dont post their bad days or lonely days …I am personally tired of seeing all the fun they are having while I try to make my own self happy…honestly I am content and hope you have that someday
