I was a PC gamer back in the day. Working away, and then mostly travelling in my spare time wasn’t really compatible and I’ve kind of moved away from it, but I’d like to get back into it especially for over the winter. I’m going to have to look into the Rog, it looks ideal.
this will change your life mate if you still travel and wanna game again. my honest opinion is go for the ally x (black one) the white is a lot cheaper now but the battery lasts an hour on some games. the x is crazy at how long it lasts. pair it with an external battery pack and you'll get a full day out of it almost.

@@vilifiedgrey4804 this would be a good fit for you mate. I’d go for the rog ally x. It is more expensive but the double battery and extra ram make the difference. The device is a game changer.
My son has the Steam Deck, but that ROG looks the gemm! As you say, how technology has progressed. I recently bought a refurb'd Sega Game Gear (Was my first and only hand-held back in the day) but that had a fault & had to send it back. I still have a few working consoles (retro) Master System, Megadrive, PS1, heck, even an original ZX Spectrum 128k with onboard tape deck. I've just built a new ASUS TUF Gaming PC with Ryzen 7. About time as my old one lasted 9 years and ran Farcry 5 well, but showed signs of a struggle with Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2. New box is SOOO much quieter than the old one! I never took to consoles much after I learned WASD Mouse & Keyboard! Did that on Return to Castle Wolfenstein. (Very atmospheric game, still give it a run-through now & then...) Bluetti looking very snug in it's new place. A pal just got one for his plot in Portugal. Keep em comin' mate! Cheers!
@@Jimbo12165 the steam decks a beast man and just keeps getting better but for me there’s a few games the ally plays without missing a beat. It’s crazy with all the consoles you mentioned there all run for hours on the ally x. I’ve got an sd card full of emulation from Amstrad, commodore days, Nintendo nes all the way to the switch. These things are just the new latest gameboy 😂. See that’s the thing mate I’ve been pc gaming for maybe 2 years now and have only dabbled with mouse and keyboard. It’s the constant flicking of the mouse I hate 😂. I’ve got a pretty good mouse as well for gaming but it used for editing. Aye the BLUETTI feels a lot better in the box. It was a nightmare to keep moving 😂
Got a gaming pc at home but have a steam deck for adventures have all my old Pokémon DS games, some PSP Hatsune Miku diva games, and it can play a fair few of my steam library best part is I can use in desktop mode with a wireless mouse and keyboard have RU-vid and add blocker so makes watching videos easier !
@@Trappedlabrat nice. I started on steam deck and loved the thing especially for emulation. Have you got the oled version. I was tempted to get it before I got the ally x.
@@RobnDob yeah got the oled version the screen is amazing. i have a ssd with a bunch of anime saved on it and with vlc media player i can watch it in the beautiful screen , price is amazing for what you get , i understand the rog is better for higher end games but id sit at my pc for that type of gaming , emulation is great !
@@Trappedlabrat I’ve heard the screen is awesome i had the first gen. You’re absolutely right though. It’s what’s best for your needs and if you have a pc setup at home then there’s no need for anything other than the steam deck. For the price of it as well and the improved battery life it’s hard to beat. The ally is my only setup and the 80wh battery swayed me. lol
Damn... that's a great setup for a van. Was gonna ask if it can be hooked up to abigger screen, but just seen the last few minutes of the video which answered that. I do have a desktop pc but mainly play on my xbox but one of those devices would be ideal. I even tried the firestick with xbox gamepass and that works pretty well but obviously need a good internet onnection to work. But this or steam deck are ideal. Obviously pc games, windows experience but also gamepass for pc too.
@@matthewwall3319 thanks mate. Yeah you could hook up as large as you like. I’m looking at a projector 😂. I think it does come down to what games you play. There’s a lot of games steam deck won’t play due to batte net or more windows specific. So the rog ally x is good for that. Game pass on the rog ally is amazing as well because you can download the games onto the ally and only need internet to download the game. So if you preload it you’re good.
I am the worst technophobe! Just can’t get to grips with gaming or anything. But my eldest loves it and good to know about this device as she is a PC gamer so she would love a way to play while away!
@@RobnDob I think it’s super important to find those things that bring us joy and relieve stress. It definitely does that for my oldest too. Will have a look into this device for her.
@@baldeysadventures963 I got a brs32 foldable one. I’m gonna use it in this Sundays episode. It’s a wee cracker, space saving and can run both fuels. My other stove is fine but this one’s pretty good especially as it’s foldable.
