Admit that when you first got Rocco, I wondered about 2 things: how a Jack Russell would tolerate vanlife and if you’d have to keep a constant eye out that she not sail off a cliff in her enthusiasm. She has proven to be amazing…hilarious when she beats you to the peak and stunning watching her scale that rock in the slot canyon. Your videography has always been great but it gets better all the time. And Rocco is a not-to-miss addition.
I have commented on this before, but I am a huge fan of those drone shots from up high. So, so beautiful and great footage. It's super cool seeing you and Rocco as two small dots amongst the gorgeous landscape.
I don’t think he could have found a more perfect companion dog than Rocko. She’s just incredible and looking very strong and agile as well as adorable 🥰 Stay safe out there!
Rocko is crushing those 12,000 foot peaks! And I love watching her zip back and forth in those slot canyons with so much energy and excitement! She has a zest for life that we can all envy!
That high amount of energy is just part of the Jack Russel Terrier breed! They’re full of energy, tenacity, strong will, and can climb! They can be stubborn and feisty when they’re forced to do something they don’t want to do. But they are a good little dog if you train them right and respect the breed! Food looks delicious as always-that van is a 5 star restaurant on wheels! The mountains ⛰️ and canyons are awesome! Thank you for all your hard work and efforts in every video!
Rocko has become quite the rock climber!! I love how she knew just how to apply pressure on one side to hold herself in place as she used her feet to move up that tight rock section, just like a human would do it. And to think she looked like this shy little pup when she first joined the channel. She has gained her confidence and is now up for any challenge with you. You are a very lucky man Foresty Forest!!
7:07🐕 BOING BOINGBOING BOING 🤣Watching Rocko on the return trip is so much BETTER than just seeing the trail💯 Thank you for all you are, share & Do Simon! You make the world a better place for us all ✊🏽🍀❤🙏
Great video Simon, loved how rocko “helped” with the cooking and her face when she realised that she may of changed the cooking temp…😅 She sure is a determined little lady by the way she scaled those rocks and like you said she has all the characteristics of a terrier. Van looking good, fording the water crossing and ploughing through the snow ❄️ And great contrasting between the mountains 🏔️ and the canyons 😊 Awesome stuff.
The fact that he places his camera at certain angles up on cliffs of the canyon just to walk down and go back up so we can have a different perspective of the journey is truly miraculous and shows the dedication to his channel!
Rocko's noticeably a different dog from the beginning. At first I imagined she would slow down or 'tame' the extremity of your adventures but now it looks like you're having the hard time keeping up with her. Cheers brother. Stay safe.
What a little scrapper Rocko is! Watching her climb up that little place where it squeezed her ! Amazing! She's just like you!! Great video Simon! Thanks for sharing once again!
I pick yours..... " Little Scrapper".... Best description of Rocko..... The entire comment section is impressed.... She sure is the Best For Foresty.... In part because he considers Safety more then he used to....
I was laughing at giving the van a good old clean..before instantly driving it into a river 😂 Foresty have you read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand? It's the true story of an Olympian who fought in ww2, before getting lost at sea and then ending up in prisoner of war camps. It's an absolutely incredible read, highly recommended. Great video as always Foresty!
I recommend reading Endurance by Alfred Lansing, a crazy but true story about an Antarctic expedition where the crew got stranded and had to survive until they could get themselves home
Huge kudos for the Koyaanisqatsi reference and evocative music, I worked at an art house cinema in high school, and they played it, and it was absolutely riveting to watch repeatedly. I am always astounded by Rocko’s energy, where that she was bouncing down the mountain!
Hey Foresty! Just wanted to reach out and say how much I love your videos, your authentic narrations and all of the beautiful places that you show us. This winter has been hard on me and your videos remind me of how much beauty there is in this crazy world. Thanks again and stay safe.
OMG your opening line in this episode is a reference to Koyaanisqasti. I thought maybe I was the only person still alive who remembers that amazing visual & musical experience of a movie. But I guess NOT. Keep up the great videos FF.
Foresty I know Rocco is a maniac just like most Jack Russell Terriers are! I've been around a lot of Jack Russell terriers in my lifetime all pretty well mannered but very aggressive and you can sure tell Rocco's aggressiveness just by the moves that she makes. Makes me so happy to know that you have a good partner with you all the time, didn't know if it was going to work out at first but she sure has grown into a full-out mountain climbing Beast. You just don't know how bad I want to see that part of the country and also the northwest , I've seen so much Northeast in my life down south in Texas and pretty much all over the East Coast but where you're at right now I would love to see and Washington State also. Anyway my friend you take it easy and stay safe.
I'm imagining you up in the mountains humming the Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack, then, driving into town and track 1 from the Powaqqatsi soundtrack blasting away. The contrast from the peace to town must be quite jarring, just like that track!
Rocko is a friggin BEAST holy cow. And your shots are spectacular man! Those still drone (?) shots of the mountains you’re bagging with you and Rocko in the foreground showing the scale give me goosebumps
Great drone shots on this video! Loved the over head shots of you guys walking through the canyons. Looks awesome. I'm hoping to travel to and through Utah later this month in my new truck build tramper. Looking forward to checking this place out. Thanks again for sharing the adventures and videos Foresty
now i have to dig my Koyaanisqatsi DVD out and watch it again this winter. Utah is beautiful country. good place to winter, thousands of years ago and today.
Man you got quite the climbing dog there Foresty. Loved the way she climbed that part in the canyon (looked like a climber using the chimney technique). Thanks for being real with us viewers. That is so awesome. :)
Rocko: This looks like something I can gnaw on! Also Rocko in some shots: I am your Quatal! Lemino only makes one video a year but has...one trillion subs. And 10 gazzalion views. Set for life from RU-vid even if he never made another video. Astounding. May you achieve the dream as well.
Can you imagine if Foresty Forest never picked up a camera and brought us along.....? I never could have imagined somebody lived this way. Comfortably. I don't gush over RU-vidr's. FF is different. Thanks Simon ❤.... for bringing us along with you. You are one of the funniest people I've ever.....watched......lol. I'm like oh yeah !! Car wash !!! Next scene you're driving thru a river lol.
