Trying to speak the language of whatever country you are visiting was the best way I found to get along. I have observed my fellow Americans who seem to want to compare everything to America. I always wondered why they bothered to visit other places when they fail to do as you are doing...relax and learn. People are wonderful, for the most part, but you will never find that out if you bring your country and your attitude along instead of your open heart.❤ Thank you again.

I recall you had a joint replacement right? Very important to have antibiotics just to protect that joint from dental procedures. (retired surgical nurse here first thing came to my mind with this)

My husband had hip replacement and the surgeon said only two years after the surgery, the antibiotic are needed.

Why antibiotics for joint replacement so long after? I had a fill hip replacement 9 months ago. They gave me low level antibiotics during the operation and I have had antibiotics for another issue since but nothing to do with the hip.

Fields of poppy’s , red and purple,… how beautiful ! The big round things are seed pods.. they will turn brown after a while and they are filled with millions of tiny seeds… Poppy seeds

24:00 poppy seeds are a central part of hungarian cuisine: used a lot in desserts. I'm a huge fan of poppy seeds but wasn't aware they have so great looking purple flowers.

Hey Snow, don’t have to go too far from the USA. I live in Quebec Canada and just a plain old dental cleaning costs us +/- $190 Cdn! So I personally think you got a deal for your crown repair and x-ray

Good morning Snow and Curt 🌞 On top of the brakes, your poor teeth. I think you were probably clenching your teeth during that scary trip down the mountain, I know I was just watching you guys 😮 Please note I'm not in the medical field, but I have a minor heart condition and I need to take antibiotics whenever I have my teeth worked on, which is usually just my twice yearly cleanings. I'm assuming your cardiologist said you don't have to worry about that, I hope. 🤞 Please take this as just concern and not trying to me a doctor. I didn't know about this until I moved 26 years ago and my new dentist, who was insanely through, tells me how my heart condition can be impacted by dental work. I confirmed it with my doctor first and was told that yes, stuff can sometimes travel through our bloodstream to the heart. So happy that your ticker has not stopped your travels. I've been lucky enough to have followed you both from your USA farewell tour and you give this older broad with medical conditions hope to be on the road one day soon. Safe travels, 🤗🇨🇦🙏

Snow, you don't have a condensation issue in summer, but you have a lack of ventilation problem. With 2 adults you need to run the Maxair and open windows or an other roof vent open. Keep on rolling. George

I've seen a small book that has pictures of foods, doctors, hospitals, animals etc. that you can use for translation. For example, if you cannot read a menu, or don't have a menu, you would show the server or cook a picture of a fish or a chicken or a cow to show them what you want to order.

Hi Snow and Kurt I am terrified of the dentist. This stems back from when I was a child and the dentist had no patience with children If adults. However I went to see his brother who was upstairs and he was much better. I have always had problems with my gums and teeth since I could well remember but that’s another day. Those kitties you have are so adorable . Austria and Switzerland is very pretty and picturesque. My mother used to go there in wintertime with her friends. My father stayed home to look after me as I was only 12/13 age. When I got older it was me who cooked the food lol. He survived so it must have been ok Much love and respect from across the pond in Ukx

Fun fact! The field of flowers was poppy indeed. Lesser known that it has seeds with opioid content, so hungarians are brave enough to dry it, crunch it and put on pasta in large amount along with sugar. It's called "mákos tészta" and if you eat enough you can produce a positive drug test. However it has no drug-like influence and even small children consume it with love.

The poppy field in Hungary was for the commercial poppy seed production. Poppy seeds are used for bakery items and other food use for centuries. Poppy production for medicinal use ( morphine production ) is no longer a viable trade in Hungary .

On the google translate thing, A lot of times when you use it on a menu, it tells you “Beef in the style of the local village” which doesn’t work so well if you don’t know what that style is! It is almost always better just to ask… even if they don’t speak English… it is AMAZING how nice people are when you just give them the chance!

That place in Austria with the sheep, the chickens, a woodpecker family and that cute cat that visited you in the kitchen area, I really enjoyed that lovely camp! I hope that your mouth is doing well, Snow as having tooth pain is very distracting! Hi Snow and Curt, on your previous episode to this one, you showed a map of Slovakia with the proposed route you're taking to meet friends. It looks like you are crossing the Hungarian border to head north to Kosice. Then you turn west. Wow! My maternal grandparent's family lived in Semsa, just to the west of Kosice. They emigrated to Ohio in 1900. Can't wait to see your videos of that beautiful countryside. Have a great trip!

Hari OM The Hungarian Blue poppy is grown for its seed... mostly of food grade, but a lot for opium alkaloid production (morphine, etc). It is quite often grown in gardens simply because it is beautiful! YAM xx

Hungary - especially the western parts are full of dentists specialized to serve western-european clients. People actually travel there from abroad to have their teeth fixed.

Not sure if you tried already, but it works most of time across Europe, set the Google/Waze to avoid toll roads and it will take you thru back roads avoiding the big highways. Though with a big van it might be a problem in countries like Portugal or Spain as many places have tiny roads.

For your window condensation issues, we use a compact usb rechargeable window vacuum sqidgee in our van that not only bucks all the moisture off our windows, but makes them really clean on the inside. Our windows have never been so clean than when we have had condensation 😊

I have been living in Ecuador for almost a year and a half and i try to use google translate as little as possible. I will sometimes translate what i need and learn to say it. Then if they are still confused show it to them. I live in a city with a large gringo population, so most are used to it, especially the young people. AND we stick out. They arent expecting us to know Spanish. I am ssuuuuuure you and Curt had the same experience in south America being so tall! But, for the most part charades is the best with saying it slowly in English works the best of all.

On your drive out of the small town of Stains you passed farms growing hops. The tall trellis like structures are needed to grow the hops vine. It also appears they were growing fruit trees under netting, probably to protect the fruit from birds. Interesting. !

HUF, means Hungarian Forint, that's what it called "Forint" currency. :) At 22:15 vid, that is roughly about 23.10 USD from HUF conversion. Make sure to swim there Balaton lake if it has sunny day. It's very warmer water in during afternoon. Unfortunately the most people don't speak in English until you visit Budapest they do speak English. Week ago I visited "Tejjel Mézzel Étterem" (Milk and Honey Restaurant), it has English food/drink menu. If you want to visit there the restaurant, it's located in Göncruszka, Fő utca 46, 3894. Hey guys life has been happening again I've gotten way behind on your videos but I see you finally got to Hungary!! So I'm gonna skip ahead and watch these actually I had to go back and watch the brake video and cop video first but I'm getting Hungary now.. I'll never forget saying "see you later" in Hungarian at a checkout line at the neighborhood market and seeing the gigantic smile I got from the cashier you are so right about making an effort! I know I suggested Margarit Island in Budapest and rhe farmers market..so can't wait to see if you made it

That’s a reasonable price. Without insurance in the states it could easily be that price. If you had that cover for your front windshield you wouldn’t have to worry about hail!

Those bees were likely stoned AF 😂 It’s rare to see poppy fields. Highly regulated high value crop. Impossible to grow in Canada but the govt will buy it wholesale from Afghanistan where much war and conflict is raging over it… oh my… did I just veer off into geopolitical territory again? 😅 sorry. I have no idea about this world and I thank you for shedding some insight into what is truly going on. 🐝✨. (I am surprised that those fields were not behind walls and with armed guards actually. Tasmania is the other place where poppies are grown but they are purported to have the highest concentration of opioids in the world. Supposedly heavily guarded). Interesting. Very interesting. I’m excited to see more of the Baltic countries.

@@knor1982 all poppy seeds have trace amounts of opioid compounds, such as morphine and codeine, because they come from the opium poppy plant. While the amounts in culinary poppy seeds are generally very low, it is possible to test positive for opioids if you consume a large quantity of poppy seeds, like in poppy seed cake or bagels, shortly before a drug test. However, the likelihood of this happening varies depending on the amount consumed and the sensitivity of the test.
