Thanks for watching everyone! Feels so good to be making progress on the van! You guys were right about the seat, it was defo a good decision! P.S. Lets all thank Keely's Mum and Dad letting us live outside their house and work on the van!
Keeley- the scene where you are trying out the seat for the first time is absolutely golden!! Live it ❤. I was screaming! Great show this week (& every week!). btw - the bumpers look brilliant!! 😊
Whatever you are doing, you bring so much joy with your humour and positivity. I've been home for 2 weeks now and sitting on my daughter's drive, and as much as I love her and my grandchildren, I need some wide open spaces and no people, no cars, and no pollution. Oh yes Philly....if Keeley is old, what does that make me, a 68yr old full-timer? As long as I am physically able, I will be living and traveling in my van because it is my truly happy place. Safe travels guys 🚐
Hi Philly and Keely. Great job with the seat replacement on your van. What a difference it makes to being able to get into the back of the van. Glad the MOT went well. Take care. Nick
I feel your organizing angst - I am working on a long neglected porch and it is taking FOREVER- Totally love your channel and hope the sun shines for you on your next adventure- my daughter and I went to Northern Ireland once and we loved it but a typhoon followed us there 😳 Happy travels!!! ❤
- Single seat install: win. - Repacked: win. - LEDs replaced: food tastes better made under daylight bulbs, win. - Mum said she was proud: win. - Bumpers sprayed: looks decent on camera from a cooplah metres, win. - Sliding door fix: looks better from outside, true connoisseurs respect an artful bodge, win. Coffee: WIIIN!! ☕☕☕ ❤️❤️😎✌️xx
We’re still in denial about needing a single seat. Our dog LOVES driving in the middle seat and looking out…. Next stop, maybe Norway? Summers are great and it’s heaven for camping 🤩 and let us know if you’re somewhere around Flåm 😊
Lots done you two. Love the seats upgrade( and lie down mode ha ha) Awe bless your parents Keely, so supportive. Well done on a great clear out. Looking forward to next adventures.
Keely mate, just wait until like June/July to do the bumpers. Not worth the hassle. Also, I think you could have got away with not having to paint them 😬 A heat gun brings grey plastics back to black, but you’ll know for the next van 😝
😂 yeah I am defo gonna wait and do a second layer in a hotter country lol! I don't have a heat gun, but I'll know to come borrow yours for next time lol
Hi, now you've got the single seat sorted, you'll want a swivel baseplate for it to maximise the potential. So much better for having a bit of space to sit and relax if you have friends around. Super vlog again. Happy travels guy's. 👋
Well done with the seats guys! For a moment Philly even looked like a handyman 🤣 The bad news is your jobs on a van are never done. Hope to meet up with you guys on your next trip and compare job lists 👍
We have just got back from a tour of Ireland, love loved it. Ring of Kerry, and Dingle wish we had had more time, coast, forest and bogs Would love to watch your adventures.
Thanks Karen. We did Ring of Kerry & Dongle last year, it was soooooo beautiful and we got great weather for it which was nice. We've been tethered here waiting for packages to arrive, so we still haven't departed or decided where to depart to lmao 🤣 maybe it will be another Ireland trip. If it is we think Wicklow this time. But also might go to Spain or France haha
Now to throw into the mix a swivel base for the passenger seat!! This means the cabservatory can be fully enjoyed, a 90 degree swivel to put feet up on drivers seat and relax in the warmth, or a 180 degree swivel to sit and look out the side door. It is also handy when swivelled 90 degrees to block passenger door at night and if one of you gets up before the other, can go and sit and relax in the cabservatory. Got to say the bumpers looked good! Well done on the epic use of cardboard and tape!! 😂 ❓Question - would there be any issue if you had your mot done in mainland UK, if the rules are so harsh in NI? Hope the travelling is going well and the side door ratchet (ingenious idea) is working well.
Loved the video! The Van Life projects seriously never stop 😂 but WOW does it feel good when you can actually check some things off the list! It looks like you have a cell booster on the roof? Which one did you end up going with!? Looking forward to seeing where you go next!
Thanks guys. Motorhome WiFi is who we went with. It's well expensive, but we really needed it for tuition and RU-vid, internet is very important for us to have everywhere. In Europe it's great and gets us internet everywhere, but in UK our internet is crap lol.
You guys got so much done! Martha looks so fabulous and shiny! I think you should install wings on Martha and fly to Chicago 😁 Looking forward to see more of your travels as always ❤❤ xo
Well upgraded Martha . Retail value just shot through the roof . Here in America we call the second hand car parts place a junkyard . What did Philly call it again ? Is that really what it’s called are is that just the quick silly way he makes up words that seem to work ? Maybe you could find a door there . Good to see mom and dad . I think Philly will be quite the mechanic when all this traveling changes to a little plot of land . There’s quite the debate on RU-vid should a nomadic person buy a piece of land ? Are they still nomads ? Well I think it might be good for you two . Especially if it only had a four car garage on the land . One garage for Martha and the other three so you could spread out when you’re home . Keely could stay dry . 🎉Keep celebrating that birthday for a week Philly . People are dying to know what Keely gave you for a present 🎁 ?
He doesn't like presents so just lots of love from me ❤️🥰 We call junk yard a breakers yard (where they break down cars into parts) we probably could have got the door from there because they had a van like ours, but it was dark blue and would be a lot of work reinstalling window, so that's a job for someone else in the future 😂 As for the plot of land, that's our dream. It depends why people are "nomads" for us it's not just about travelling, it's about living a more sustainable life, in touch with nature and our own consumption, and what better way to do that than growing your own food and collecting your own water. For us it's an advancement of what we are searching for with life on the road. Then we will still take trips to far away lands to get our travel fix with our land as our base to return to ❤️❤️
The other day the sun was shining in the sky and big heavy hail was clattering down ...surreal ...what a wee country though 😍.....even better on the 5+ sunny days we have 🤣
Love u guys and your vlogs ❤ - you’re an inspiration to us all. Saw your slidey door ratchet-pull fix and tried it out on my buckled Transit barn door (break-in attempt). Blow me down and call me Mister Frodo… it blimen’ worked!!! Thank you so much!! 😊😊😊
Love your new seats! How convenient to have that pass through!! I don’t always agree with Philly. That hat was purple 💜😂!! And yes sometimes you just get enough of family… even if you do love them. Safe travels wherever you are! 💛🌴😘
Spring cleaning can be draining but it's so worth it in the end. Loving the outtakes at the end! And that blue sky when it finally hit was as blue as the sea in Greece. 😉
Fitting another driver's seat: what an ingenious hack over more expensive options. The driver's seat is bound to be the best seat with all the adjustments. Thought you were going back to Spain, I'm off to Spain next week for a mini road trip, can't wait as it's just not stopped raining in the UK for months! If you're not going to Spain, then I think you should head to France before it gets too hot, there's so many great places to camp for free in France.
Thanks so much PB, the original plan was Spain, but we have a wedding in June so trying to figure out best option where to go for the next five weeks, it too far or expensive to drive/fly back for wedding
@@phillyandkeely Oh then makes a lot of sense to enjoy the summer in Ireland as it’ll be too hot in Europe anyway. The good weather can’t be far away! Thanks for in instant reply as ever!
It's getting a bit patchy!! 🤣🤣 Another cracker lads, never related more to anything than Keely's feelings towards the weather. Looking forward to your next adventure! Morocco??
Hey GUYS! Great job! I'm so happy that you got all of your jobs completed you were very entertaining to me. I laughed right with you keely. Philly great job with the seats! I can't tell you how much I enjoy you guys. Van looks great. I felt like I was right there with you guys. Safe travels my dears . Love you guys😂🤣😃😄😅😆😉
I reckon Banksy is a worried man after watching Keely with that spray can 😂. The single comfy Keely seat is a brilliant idea. Probably wish you'd fitted it ages ago haha. Any clues where you're heading off to? Fab content and editing as per. See you soon 😁💚
I know what you mean, you just wanna get out there one the road.....me too! Love the new seat situation, it's perfect. Where did you stash the yoga mat? I was working on my sliding door yesterday with a friend who helped. The upper bolt kept loosening so we took it apart, cleaned it and then put it back together with Loctitie...so far, so good. Painting....that's hard, I tried to paint fix an area too, not quite the look I wanted. It's no easy job to get your van just the way you want everything to be. I think Martha is lookin good so far, can't wait to see her on the road again. Take care you two.
Thanks so much Adele, glad to hear you had more success than us with the door lol! The yoga mat lives in the seat with our "entertainment" so our games and stuff, not sure how I've classified the yoga mat as entertainment hahaa
loving the new single seat arrangement!! So spacious looking. Are you staying in the UK ? If so come to Cornwall before the silly season starts... I can make a mean coffee and vegan cakes!!!
Are you staying in Ireland? Maybe the North Coast, over to Donegal, down to Galway?? Or take the ferry to Cornwall and Devon...So many wonderful choices for you. It never rains in Lurgan, you know! Good luck, can't wait for your next plans.
You are both doing amazing and making your cosy home on Wheels even more cosier. Loving the single seat! Can I ask what video platform you use as like the look of your videos! Cheers
@ChapterByChapterVlog Glad you are enjoying your single seat. Yes that's what I meant ok getting Steve onto it now!! Ha ha thanks again you guys are awesome 👌
Do you know anyone with a garage to borrow, less angst caused by bloody weather? Well done with the new single seats, now you have access to rear without getting out & using sliding door?💜💙🤗🇦🇺🍻
Exactly our thoughts Pamela, will get away with using side door a lot less! Sadly noone with a garage big enough to fit a van at home lol, all car garages.
Great work guys. It is so good to be able to move from cab to rear of van. Would you have a link to what e-bikes you have and if you would recommend. Thanks
Hey Sue, yeah the walkway is great 🥰 The ebikes are linked in our description under videos. Called the fiido D3 I think our link gets you £50 off. We really love them, great size for the van.
Not to put a downer on your seat excitement, but…. The original bolts that you’ve replaced with threaded bar are likely a higher grade steel(stronger bolt) than the threaded bar you’ve used. This could potentially void your insurance if (hopefully not) you are in an accident and the vehicle is assessed because it’s a seat belt anchor point. Again, don’t want to put a downer on it but just a heads up of something to be aware of. 👍👍
Thanks guys, never a downer if sharing valuable info. We actually bought a thicker metal than our previous one was and followed the guys video to a Tee, he had his signed off I think. But we are gonna take it back to the garage to get them to give it the once over just to makesure 🥰🥰
We are just back this winter from a three month trip in Japan. We rented a campervan and it was incredible 🥰, we would love to get back some day, definitely recommend it to everyone. Very expensive to ship our van though, I think you could rent one there for the same price as shipping it lol.
Great video guys. I'm a fellow Norn Iron converted van owner. I have a single passenger seat added same as you guys. Wee question, where did you get the threaded bar to attach the seat belt to?
Bought the threaded bar from B&Q in Lisburn, 12mm bolts and all there too. I've updated description with the link to the video of the guy who installed it and does full explanation, defo follow his video it's awesome
💗 A swivel mechanism on the front seats would give you several feet extra living space. Personally, I would enjoy the UK summer, then head to Portugal and Spain when your visas reset.
