This is an exceptional show. And a great quote from Van: “I’m glad I’m not in show business.” When Van was knighted in 2017 he told a BBC reporter that if he could start over he would never want to be famous.

The more I listen to Van, the more I want to listen to Van. He's a true master of his craft. The skills he puts together blow my mind: songwriting, lyricist, guitar, piano, sax, harmonica, singer extraordinaire, a deep passion to communicate, and a keen inner vision of what he wants to express through the stellar musicians he selects. This period, early to mid-eighties on through to the early 90's, represents one of my more favorite periods of Van Morrison's illustrious career. Maybe because that's when I came in, and began to appreciate this man's vast catalogue and superb talent.

Off to Belfast June 2019 to once again be in the presence of the master, I was searching for my recording of this concert just last week. I've got it on cassette tape but it been broken and repaired and the sound quality has suffered. I'm so pleased to find this recording, I've been a life long follower of Van and this is one of my favorite of his concerts. Thank you for posting this.

This show features the best version of "All in the Game" that I have ever heard. The horn section is fabulous, so is the choir. That Hammond Organ and Van´s voice top it off! I never get tired of listening to this (and many other tracks from this show)!!

I didn't know Van's music back during this time, I was a kid but I sure am glad I found it! And that there is footage of him from long ago and recent. I love him, his voice, music and the feelings his music and voice bring. This is a fantastic concert. Hadn't seen him at keyboards before, what a treat!!! And he sure looks handsome! ♥️ Love this version of Help Me, Wow! What a drummer and other band members.

Many thanks for putting this one up on the Net. Appreciate it so much, as well as other recordings here on YT showing van Morrisons excellence.I have followed his music since the „Them“ days and seen him a couple of time. Some concerts good, some bad. By the way, one of my all-time fav song are „Independence Day“ and „Ballerina“ in it s various Interpretationen.

Its great stuff but the band he had in 1982 with Pee Wee Ellis on sax and Mark Isham on trumpet, David Hayes on bass etc was unbelievable. Feel blessed I got to see that line up.

The band didn't have the power that the one from the period 1980 - 1983 had, but it's still an excellent concert. I used to have it onvideo. Thanks for uploading. (Any chance of finding Milan 1983 ?)

@@RobJaskula I note that from about 2013 (approx) she used the Jazz singer Dana Masters as her background vocalist. She is very very good and seems to understand the feelings in the various songs. See the 70th birthday Cypress Avenue concert as a good example.
