No garage space at all, dude can't take anything big with him. Usually van lifers have a bike (foldable or not) he can't even take that. Pretty build indeed, practical? No fuckin way.

@@flybeep1661 No garage, but a lot more cabinet space. A bike could fit without issue in that long aisle during transit. Don't have to fuss with removing the front wheel to fit it under the bed. Or throw a rack on the back. There's flexibility.

I've been into the #VanLife thing for just about a month, regularly viewing different Van Conversions on RU-vid. Shaiden's van is hands down, thee best van I've seen and by a lot. Definitely the best layout, best appearance and most well equipped. He has raised the bar.

Seriously! He could sell the plans. (Shhh, don’t give him any ideas.) I saved this to my Best Builds list so if I am ever to get out there I can study his build. Time is getting short- I’m 70 year old woman- a young 70- and pretty healthy but you just don’t know as you get older- the invincibility of youth begins to be replaced with practicalities. Like how to make some money quickly to afford the specialist to get my dogs ears healthy and then how to actually get enough to get a vehicle. To quote John Lennon- “Life is what happens to you while you’re making other plans...” but also- Life is good! Damn, well aren’t I feeling philosophical this morning! Lol

Love this Layout! the only thing I would change is have the shower width-wise at the back and use 2 magnetic shower curtains. angle the shower pan towards the back. Just to have that room when you shower. but aside from that Fantastic build!

Diesel in the van is safer than propane.

HereFishyFishy I agree. diesel is flammable not explosive. And diesel is not under pressure.

@@johnstryker8619 Diesel is actually NOT flammable :) You have to get to 52 degrees celsius before it evaporates enough to ignite.

Are there baffles/sections in the water tank to prevent all those gallons rushing from one end of the tank to the other?

Ah, that is a good idea! Never thought of that. Must be a bit harder to clean though. Maybe stainless steel tank?

@@lass-inangeles7564 I'm sure it would be harder to clean. Lots of edges where crud can accumulate. But the uninhibited flow of up to 181 kilograms (400 lbs) of fluid rushing forward (Yes I realise that when full it's not going to move much) under brakes is a whole lot of mass to contend with. Perhaps divide into 2 or 3 tanks?

This is by far the absolute Best Van build layout I’ve seen so far imo. The Murphy bed style and ability to open back straight through is sick! I think I’ve finally found how I would like to build. I’ll tweak some things but just little in aesthetics. Oh and no diesel heater inside 😅.... Thanks Jarrod

I really love the shower in this build. I actually love the inclusion of like a shower seat as I’m disabled so having that in a van is definitely not what I expected. I really like this build a lot. If it wasn’t for the fact I need a house, my caregivers want to make sure I have a home before they pass, I would do this. If I could I would. I’m thinking of what features I want as I watch these lol I can save for one maybe and in like 5 years I could get one c:

Is it just me or is that van bigger on the inside? He cram so much stuff in there, like it doesn't feel crowded. But he have pretty much everything, except a toilet. Wish I have a van like this. A lot of counter space too, love it. Also the bed is not a pain to set up, guess murphy beds are a must.

Shaiden, what an amazing van. How long did it take you do the conversion? Is there anything in your educational background that gave you the upper hand in creating this beauty? I can old imagine your parents' pride although they probably wish you were at home. You are younger than my grandsons but seem to have the same drive as they do. Ok this is the layout I want, wow. So well thought out. I can't think of anything really missing besides a compost toilet. Just have to finish my cyber security degree and then I'm going to start the build. Hopefully on the road before 28 (fingers crossed) I really envy your prices though. That van in Australia would be around 25-30k with mid to high kms. Build like his easily 40k here.

nice build and awesome he was able to go out there and do this at a young age. I would love to have heated floors in my first van but will most likely do one in my second van! While the chest refrigerators are more energy efficient than the normal standing refrigerator, I do not want to spend time digging for what I am looking for and have stuff get crushed.

Diesel fuel is much safer than gasoline when it comes to flammability. So unless the diesel can leak from the can, it is safe to it put where it has been put. Ine just needs to be careful. In case you have an option, put it outside.

The Chinese diesel heater he purchased on eBay is actually widely used by truck drivers in China, especially in the North where winter is very cold. The even funnier part is: a Chinese electric vehicle start up company borrowed this idea and installed this diesel heater in their latest electric cars, for 2 purposes: 1)for heating inside the car because battery is highly inefficient for air heating and EV range will decline a lot, 2) for warming up the battery in EV for better battery management.. Hence, here comes this weird EV which carries a diesel heater....

Awesome!! Can anyone say what heater it is please? Sorry if I missed it. Same vibes as mine but with an electric motorcycle too Also why doesn't anyone use 12v 560mah phosphate batteries? I was thinking two or three for extra time off grid. I read the solar controllers are chosen based on the battery though:o
