Man, I was 16 years old when I first heard simple man. Sitting in a Church parking lot smoking dope and drinking. God convicted me on the line that said remember there is one above. That stuck with me for 10 years then I met Jesus!!! I Then stopped and said. LORD that was you in that parking lot!!After this encounter I have been and stayed free from that past lifestyle for40 years When I hear Simple Man I am very grateful for that song!!!!! Amen brother, Simple man is my theme song, because that’s what I am, and Jesus Christ was able to avoid and ignore all temptation unlike us, because he is God’s only son. We were born with free will, and have the right to choose between good and bad, because God made us that way to see if we would follow his teachings. Jesus will return to gather all the true believers, and I feel that day is very near.

I was a huge 38 Special guy growing up. I met Jesus and gave all of that secular music up. Over the years I have prayed for Bono, Layne Staley , a lot for Chris Cornell, and even earlier today for Robert Plant. “Jesus Christ” the song really moved me. Of course the Son of God has changed my life. I was able to see Skynyrd with Bad Co a few years back at White River Amphitheater. I’m 61 and have been a fan since the 70s and of 38 Special. To hear this song and see the powerful video is mighty. I hope that you are right. I am a high school teacher and I see things going the other way. I used to sponsor Fellowship of Christian Athletes at a small school in Arkansas where about 90% of our student body were members. Now I teach at a much larger high school in Texas where maybe 10% of our students are active in our Christian organization called Younglife. I am not saying we are only 10% Christian but that is about the active number. My own 28-year old son has been saved and baptized but now is not sure how he feels about God. I pray almost every night that Jesus will soften my son's heart (and his wife who is an atheist). I do think it is a good sign that more celebrities seem to be accepting Jesus like Russell Brand. Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson may not have accepted Jesus yet but definitely seem open to it.

At 72 and been to so many concerts from Zeppelin, to Hendrix, Springstein, Iron Butterfly, etc, have hearing issues but still play guitar, had a band at 15 and still talk with my lead guitarist........Skynard was and still is great, so happy so many coming to know Jesus!......
