@@maxrex280 Nah, the brick has to deal with those scripted torpedoes as well and bottom line this will win the battle of attrition unless its literally fighting a gun wall.
Almost everyone: Vanadium like the element Aaron: Va-- Van--- Vadarium! Reminds me of his Donnager review where he kept calling the ship the Donner Kabob.
Yeah I also was like what did he say? Turned on subtitles "mandarium" wow that's even worse then what I heard. 😅and yes I know these were automatic subtiles and not very good ones either.
@@NNextremNN The worst part is that I'm rereading Leviathan Wakes and when I came to the chapters with the Donnager all I could think of was Donner Kabobs.
The rear half sort of reminds me of The Ark from the G1 transformers cartoon. Scratch that, if there was no cut out on the front half of the ship for the torpedo bay, it would look like a number of different versions of the Autobot Ark
If they make an Ark... I want it to have it's one-time shown navigation shields from the first episode ever! Apart from Trek's navigational deflectors and the Expanse's acknowledgement that a poorly-placed debris field can kill a ship but due to the emptiness of space is unlikely to occur, I can't think of too many franchises that do a lot of work to address specialized directional systems specifically to protect the ship from debris as it flies. Many settings only go as far as saying, "they exist".
Add a few tiny anti fighter turrets in the back and 1 giant turret. Place the about 10 inside the area where the engine exhaust are and on the top and bottom around making sure that the back is protected against fast ships that wish to attack from behind.
Good looking ship. Vanadium is pronounced vah-nay-dee-um. There is no R in it, no silent letters, or invisible letters it is spoken exactly how it looks like it should be spoken.
And cool as it looks, I'm beginning to realize the people who dedicate themselves to building these massive, yet unusable ships are just a weensy bit mentally ill.
It's a work of art and love, to be sure. If the dorsal and ventral gun decks were sloped forward to maximize firepower (e.g. Star Destroyer) the effectiveness might be greater, but the detail is irrelevant compared to the aesthetic of this masterpiece. Well done. 👏🏻
You mean a superfiring turret setup? It would in fact be more effective, but it seems like the ship is designed for a broadside, after all, the turrets are already in the right places for it. Think Star Destroyer but designed for broadsiding.
I believe he mentioned, and you can see, that it actually is setup that way, at least a little. Maybe. Doesn't matter I guess because NOTHING would want to be in front of that rail gatling system in the middle.
@@arbitratorkit3626 , yes, essentially. The only disadvantage to a superfiring design would be a potentially larger silhouette for enemies to target in a broadside engagement, so perhaps that is reason enough to avoid the extra bulk. As I said, the detail is superfluous compared to the scope and magnitude of this design.
@@DjigitDaniel I agree, it does seem like it would add a larger silhouette, at least on the back of the "Wing" structures, that is. But yes, I do completely agree, the detail is very minor in comparison. Huh, one of the few times I've actually enjoyed interacting in youtube comment sections. Great... discussion? It almost feels too short to be one, so I'll just say great chat!
There was a visual mod I would use in space engineers, that would make shadows realistically dark, such as on asteroids when the sun goes behind it. Hiding a dark ship in a shadow would be possible with the mod. This one doesn't seem to need to be dark, as it seems more a challenge to other engineers that wants to be seen... at least that is my comment to one of your early comments about how the bright ships can be easily spotted and such.
@@discopistons8604 I have never heard of Eyes got clear. I only ever used Space got real which made space realistically dark. I will look into the second mod in case it further enhances it though
The two bridges remind me of the Venator Class Star Destroyer, although they have different roles as one bridge was for ship operations and the other to manage spacecraft as it was a battlecarrier
Dreadnoughts were just a type of battleship starting with HMS Dreadnought, until they were superseded by better battleships. The correct term for the largest non-carrier warships is battleship (or battlecruiser if they are less armored, though these became obsolete after fast battleships became a thing). Whether or not this would be a cruiser or a battleship would depend on whether there are bigger ships or not in the fleet of the organisation that operates them. (Sorry for being annoying, maybe I'm autistic and a naval history geek, but using the term dreadnought in spacegames kinda bothers me :D)
@@TheyCommanderBacarayes, but they all use the "term" incorrectly as it is actually just a historical ship name, that sounds pretty badass. There is no such thing as a Dreadnought in ship types. Not even in space.
@@leandrogoethals6599 Exploit weapons? are you referring to the "No Owner" Exploit where you change the ownership of the PMW to no one and it makes it impossible to target with regular turrets?.
@@darkstar_sierra1588 Oh i didn't think of that one thanks for the heads up, however nu i meant the clang and gravity weapons as well as those exploding containers with rock in them that rip trough ships.
It's gorgeous, the LOD is stunning and the commitment from the builder to see this build through is immense. Practicality level is -100 though. Would get bodied by a missile cruiser, and you could make 28 ships of 5MKG for the same resources. It's a sitting duck for anything with a railgun, even a small 1MKG frigate with a railgun would be too much for this to handle as it simply cannot move. Good target practice however.
I came back to the this channel after almost 6 years of not watching it and your still doing ships review and makes that's cool asf I was in the 6th grade when I started watching you I graduated high-school 2 years ago and starting college next year
Now this ship is trully hard nut to crack open but with a challenging foe like this it makes you brainstorm to come up with ship ideas that are out of the box or conventional space ship such as a frigate, destroyer, or cruiser to counter making you to get creative and make your own classes of ships which haven't been thought of before.
Loved the video @LastStandGamers! Can't wait for the next video man! Imagine seeing the Admins using this to Fight the Entire Server! It's not going to end well for anyone since it might make everyone's computers be the Next Biggest thing since Chernobyl or Fukushima LMAO!
No gravity drive (once you get that heavy its a must) or player main missiles. Not enough weapons to stop missile spam. I would guess that jump range is poor as well. Not built to land on a planet (yes you can do it even at that weight, not a requirement on a warship). Not a lot of guns. Looks great, the engines look amazing. Work of art overall. Forward railguns make the front of the ship weaker. The small turrets are useless, they will run out of ammo as well and wont be rearmed. The thing about gravity drives is they osculate so you need a few normal thrusters but you can hide them inside the ship. Gravity drive will take that large ship from 0-100 in a few seconds. If you want to go planet side then you can only go hydrogen engines and this will lead to the ship becoming to complex. Printing on a big ship like that increases weight even more because of storage and reduces jump range. Also more mass will make the speed worse without a gravity drive. You can get a version without any mods. My missile destroyer deleted it at 5000 meters (you can make player guided missiles and AI ones that have that range without mods) but its a just add more guns kind of ship. More missile and gatling turrets and this can shoot down most incoming missiles. Then the front railgun firepower is nice when you can close to attack with it. This is were you miss the gravity drive. Unsafe Grids warning and you have to disable limits to paste into the world. Tanks server performance and FPS. Looks great. Cant use this in my game :( even with the guns changed. Causes save to freeze at 100% when loading.
Nice ship and an inspiration! I've been out of the loop for a year so I don't know if they added MRI machine-like machines or if this is a bunch of mods. Either way, I love the holographic MSD.
Been watchin you since you series years ago and my subscription removed you from my stuff I finally found you again praise recommend founding you for me
your comment on bright ships applies to some ships i make, my ships being a bright green with bright orange and a grey. Blends in on earthlikes somewhat, But stands out in space
This ship just helped me understand why i always have issues with fitting airlocks into my ship .. I have No sense of SCALE. If i build it Large enough they will fit . . . =)
It would be such a fun series to occupy this ship and fully crew it and use it as a sort of arch to travel across a system while a growing horde of bots come and try to ruin it. Like the underground colony server.
"This would destroy your entire fleet." "Well.. Yes, but what about the other half of the fleet that I'd be attacking it with - from DIRECTLY BEHIND?" All that firepower is wasted if you have next to nothing guarding the rear.
Well depends on what mode it was created in if it was survival it would of taken months or even a year to build that (If solo) but it would of been built by a large group of people to accomplish it within a few weeks but anyways it's a very good looking ship.
I'm still only halfway through the video, so I don't know if you figure this out at all - The missiles use a raycast system, all in communication with a target lock system on the ship. That's what those cameras you saw on the top were - a target designator to help maintain locks.
Is it just me or did that entire entrance look almost identical to the scene from Spaceballs when the Lonestar sneaks on board the big ship at the end with the schwartz fight. It's been a while so I hope someone else understands. 😂 Edit: to clarify, I mean the side entrance
Prime example of how a few mods could not only drastically improve frame rates, but also reduce the need for so many underpowered weapon systems. This ship would get wiped out when facing anything modded.
Give me a good torp frigate. Printable tops. Atleast a 6 Lgrid torp Salvo. Preferably VLS so it can target things in a 270 degree sphere. Max recharge rate on a jump drive pack. Without fleet support this thing can be kited to oblivion. Make all your turrets AA centric so they can shoot down returning missiles. A fast enough Assault cannon *stagger fired* fighter could harass the hell out of this thing too. Quick ships are hard to hit with ai turrets. Even with that many of them. Vanilla SE needs "modules" some block, that when set on a grid and powered, increases weapon, astronautical, or production. Say something that boosts range but kills reload speed. Or tracking. And vice versa. Something that makes the turrets track and shoot faster but for less damage or range. I think adding simply that. To SE would make this game a whooollleee new experience
11:47 Its also important to understand that big ships like these will almost never travel alone it would like have a escort made up of different size ships varying from frigates n Corvettes to destroyers n cruisers...just like irl you would likely never see a US carrier or battleship travel without a escort
Depending on how it preforms, Lock it as a station and have it be like a full event where an enemy needs to board and trigger a self destruct that blows it up
All things considered. This thing would poop on close encounter battles. There should be a mod that has this thing come after you as like a boss battle lmao
One question. If you watch star wars and know what the Eclipse class dreadnought is, how do you think the ship in this video would do against the Eclipse?
Nice presentation Aaron very welll done considering you have dyslexia. Being unable to pronounce the metal Vanadium must have been very awkward. Well Done. As for the design, its a very nice trophjy model but as the frame rage indicates the cpu loading is massive and is not a practical proposition. a better variation would be to use less guns with the remaining being gatlings and have large kinetic drone missiles as the ranged arnament. \having many rail guns looks good but the power drain on recharge and the charge delay limits their effectivness and are useless in swarm attacks by corvette or light frigate classes.
You said the interior turrets in the mid section are for area denial I think they could also be for point defense to destroy missiles trying to target the railguns as well
This looks like a ship out of eve!? Not able to put a finger on which one but it was either Caldari or Gallente and it wasnt the Hyperion but around that tier of ship as far as I can remember.
