Mike McEnerney. Thanks for watching the video, I am glad you enjoyed it. To answer your question, I used a lot of Smallcar parts. I was told by the garage where I had work done which specializes in Vanagon Subaru-conversions that Smallcar has the best parts and they've done many conversions. Small car has great stuff that has really held up over time. I hope your conversion goes well. Stay tuned I will be doing a video that is more in depth about the conversion process. Ed Hoffman That's cool that you will be doing the conversion. Pretty soon it's going to be 10 years since I had my conversion done, from what I can remember as soon as the engine conversion was completed it was driven to the referee. From what I can remember it passed the first time. Many people have had these conversions done over the period of many years and a lot has been learned along the way. I hope everything goes smooth for you and that the experience will be enjoyable for you and that you will end up with the van you always dreamed of. All the best.

Hi Alex, A little of both. My van was done at a shop in Costa Mesa California in 2009 that at the time had a mechanic who Knew how to do the SVX conversion that would pass smog. I have heard he has since retired. At the time I was told by other shops you cant pass smog and you cant do and automatic transmission with SVX by people who are experts in the field. As you know California smog laws are always changing unfortunately becoming more and more strict. My thoughts are if someone out there did it before there is someone who can do it again or maybe there is someone unknown who does it right now. Thanks for watching and for you comments. Take care.

Alexander Kissinger Thank you for watching the video, its been so many years since the conversion that I honestly can't remember. The transmission modification was the costliest. Most of the parts weren't that expensive, it's labor for anything you don't do yourself.

@@jeffsharesstuff9651 The other word you didn't actually do the conversion yourself. Someone did it for you or you bought it with the full conversion already in it since you can't remember any cost or anything. Just being honest.

I also state where I purchased the van and how and the condition it was in. I do not remember the exact dollar amount as it was over 10 years ago. Thank you for your interest.☺

Its a matter of preference, I'm happy with the van. I've had the specialized hybrid transmission for 9 years and its worked wonderfully with no problems. Thank you for watching, commenting and for the suggestions.

altorhys The engine had already been taken from a SVX that was no longer on the road and given a new life. I like the Subaru SVX. I like all Subarus especially the WRX. :)
