Thank you for the video, I have the same bike. How happy are you with the Vance & Hines? Does it have cats? If not, have you noticed any loss in torque due reversion? Been wanting to have the same set up but ppl are complaining about the exhaust going back to the motor and loosing torque in the low rpm range
I have the same exhaust. They do come with Cats at the end tip, right where you clamp the slip-ons. The way you can tell from one to another is by looking at the slip-on clamp section in the intake side of the motorcycle. The V&H Power duals with cats will have a step up in diameter right where you clamp the slip-on (like the one in the video at min. 0:54). The ones without cats will be same diameter from cross section all the way to slip-on. V&H advertise it as a hi-flow cat but restriction is restriction in my book. V&H do not sells the Power Duals without cats anymore due to EPA regulations to satisfy California. You can still find the ones without cats via private sales. However, reversion in V&H 2-1-2 will be the damn near identical as in a 2-1 pipe. That's why they use a X cross section. There's a few videos that will show how it all works. Basically with a Y or X cross section, the pulse from one head will create a vacuum that sucks the reversing exhaust from the other head and vice versa. I have been wanting to take the cats off but I'm unsure if that will cause any improvement at all. I rather keep them if it is not going to actually increase power.
