Be sure to listen to the Pucks on net podcast at www.pucksonnet.ca , iTunes or Stitcher radio! Global BC enters the Canucks' dressing room ipod in hand, to get their reaction to the Chicago Blackhawks' goal song
I've seen the game! Luongo was in nets and Chicago scored multiple times. They took him out and put in Cory Schneider. The commentator mentioned how Luongo was "tired of hearing 'Chelsea Dagger' ". That was the highlight of the game that night!
No .... I found that rather sinister myself😆. I just figured the sports and news people were not originally from Vancouver. They are probably Oiler, Calgary, or Leaf fans. They really stuck it to the Canucks...lol
As a fan hearing it at least 100x per year x 8 years, it wouldn't bother me if I never, ever heard that song again, but it seems to really drive fans of opposing teams bonkers, so I guess I can live with it.
sanchezjr13 It's funny though because since I'm a Kings fan and we played Chicago last year, that song would make me cringe every time. This year we were out and I wanted the Hawks to beat the Ducks, I actually realized that I really like the song as long as it's not when the Kings are playing lol.
This is why the Blackhawks have the greatest goal song. It is a song that remains in the memory of the players who have to play the Hawks. 23,000 fans screaming and waving towels while this song is played when your "star" goaltender gives up 7 goals will leave a bad memory.
“Goal scores by number 88, Patrick Kane.” They’re supposed to hate this song and they were good sports about the joke, this video is pretty fucking funny lol
@heartb34tx : I concur. It is indeed the best goal song and whomever in the Blackhawks organization chose it, is a genius. The more common, Rock and Roll Pt II has been done to death and I'm tired of hearing it. In a more relevant era, Chumbawamba's "Tub Thumper" would've made a pretty good goal song too.
I'll tell ya why they didn't let Luongo hear it... He's already got it playing in his nightmares and with every waking eye. :D I bet it starts and he starts crying himself silly. Best goal song in hockey.
I think it pushes Vancouver enough so far this season. And we be in the rebuilding process. Hurry up with things! I can't stand to see my team at this low. 🙈 I'm here for the highs AND the lows!
@zbowen55 You say a team-based regular season award and the nomination for an award that Thomas had just won? Those are his credentials for occasionally being called "the best" or "one of the best" goalies in the world? He's very consistent at winning in the regular season, and the Panthers shoot out plenty of regular season caliber goalies. When playoff time hits, they crack. Plain and simple, he's just a very inconsistent playoff goalie.
@danblaze83 Im just trying to get a point across that the two best teams in the NHL THIS YEAR made it to the Finals. Which proves that neither the Bruins OR the Canucks are shit. I never said that you said the Bruins were shit. I have tremendous respect for them because of how well they played, and I would still have tremendous respect for them even if the Canucks beat them, and judging on how well the Canucks played in game 7, it didnt look possible. All Im saying is that the Canucks arent shit
@danblaze83 no no. If you arent even good enough to MAKE the Playoffs, like your little Florida Panthers or whatever shitty team your a fan of, then your not shit. The Canucks and Bruins are not shit. They are obviously the two best teams in the NHL this year, and MIGHT be next year. Mad respect for the Bruins, and all the other teams that we played, but the Canucks are not shit.
@Kryptsanies Fact: hawks are an original 6 team and only have 4 cups u'd think being around for 85 years and only having to play 5 other teams for alot of it they could win more. Fact: 49 year drought is longer than 40. Fact: Hawks are 10th in the west and are seriously going to regret not keeping guys like byfuglien, niemi, versteeg, ladd etc. and will miss the playoffs this year.
@TMNTPIZZA OH MY GOD, A GOLD MEDAL? Thomas has been in the league nearly half as long as Luongo and look at how much more he's accomplished. A Conn Smythe, Stanley Cup, two Vezina's, and the record for best regular season save percent average at .938. Luongo is the most overrated goaltender in the NHL. He has gold, but I'd like to see him win anything in the NHL for once.
@PdippProductions LOL the Canucks are one of the cleanest teams in the NHL. Torres rattled Seabrook with two big hits that were both legal, he only got penalized for the first one because he did interfere with Seabrook who wasn't on the puck.
@CharlieBBarkin1937 9th in the west and u've played 3 more games than almost everybody, gotta be in the top 8 before u can talk about the playoffs LOL. chicago will miss them this year, heard it here first
Lmao at the Canucks' reactions. As an acclamated (cough bandwagon) Hawks fan, I hated this song at first. But it grows on you and when you see everyone else cheering and celebrating while this song is playing, it's actually fun to hear!
Well if the Nucks dont want to hear that song their only option to avoid hearing that song is to forfeit the series! GOOOOO HAWKS! That song is going to rock the Madhouse on Madison!
Perhaps the most annoying vocal hook ever to assault Canuck fans' ears sounds something like this to my ears: "Take a look, take a look, take a look-a-look-a-look, Take a look, take a look, take a look-a-look-a-look, Take a look, take a look, take a look-a-look-a-look, Take a look, take a look, take a look-a-look-a-look." I'm glad Alex Burrows put an end to hearing anymore of that this season with his game-winner in OT tonight against Chicago. Nashville, here we come!
"Canucks haven't won a cup in 40 years!" Uhhh didn't it take Chicago 49 to get one last year!?! That's an unfair comparison considering the Canucks weren't even an organization or even a thought the last time before the Hawks won ;). And to the genius who said Canucks play dirty, uhhh Torres is one player, so no use for plural. Also, didn't Dustin Byfuglien play for your team? 'Nuff said. 3-0 series lead! Brooms are 30% off at Canadian Tire, WOOOOOOOOO!!! (To all you sore losers)
@BullsRule1000 crawfords gonna get lit up like a xmas tree in july. Sedins, burrows and kesler are going to light the lamp. You don't seem to understand, the canucks get scoring from every line. We have 9+ players with more than 11 goals this year. 5 with 20+ goals. we have probably the best defensive core in the league. Boom Boom has got his game back. Luongo is a shutdown monster. Toews and Kane are going to have a tough time, when theyre being rocked by hanson and oreskevich
@bmrhojo1 bad things come in threes? or third times a charm? We'll find out. Canucks are a revamped team this year. Kesler is keeping his nose clean, he's focused, luongo had his greatest statistic year, the sedins and burrows are hot. We've got all top 6 d-men ready to go. Only thing we've lost is malhotra which is a shame, hes a gritty center who is the 2nd faceoff % in the nhl. The blackcocks aren't the same, they've lost the players who made an impact against us. Van in 4 this year
@hayo456 Nice sarcasm there.....I cant understand the little Nuckies fans confidence in their team. Once that ball starts rolling against them they don't have the mental toughness (ESPECIALLY in net) to stand up to it and overcome it. Bad things come in threes Vancouver. And deep down I think that all Nucks fans are sitting there with the nerves of knowing that history is about to repeat itself------again.
I'm an Oilers fan and I'll be cheering for the Canucks this year in the playoffs. I think they'll do it this year, but Chicago is going to be a real tough test. I think the Canucks will take it in 6 but the Hawks won't lie down right away. Gotta give credit to the Madhouse, they can sure scream for their Blackhawks. Rogers centre should be flippin' loud too. All these comments make me excited to watch it. But hey, at least your teams aren't booking tee times right now....stupid Oilers.
@parhar77: "just look at all your other chicago fans are saying"- I am not a 'Hawks fan, but I have experienced their fans in person at UC & they've never been obnoxious. "Dont bring up the past"- Waaah! Why? Because it stings your fan-base and makes you look sorry? It's hardly been a year, mate! FTR, I don't see your fan-base's obnoxious behavior changing...EVER, and ESPECIALLY not when someone like you wants to pretend like it never happened. Want to focus on new stuff? Fix your past first.
@Morelloo1: "I was pointing at the irony.....Canucks fans were "trash-talking", "ignorant" and "casucklehead[s]"- Oooh the "ironing" stings. I was referring to PRAIRIELANDER and him alone in that post. That said, your fans are indeed obnoxious. watch?v=hAk7LYo3624...seriously, who spits at opposing players? How's that for irony....or is that merely coincidence? "not a successful derivation of my original post."- The words 'likewise lol" explain a lot, don't they?
