I thought my question where pretty good. What questions would YOU want to hear? and it actually took about and hour and a half to film. Getting people to answer question on camera is ALOT harder then it seems. :)
Nadine, I loved it. I could totally see you on Much Music. I think you'd do an amazing job. I loved this vid. I've been a subscriber for a long time and have watched you grow by leaps and bounds with your creativity and your ability to put together kick ass videos for us. They just keep on getting better. I really do hope you get it because you truly deserve it. Much love. 5 STARS!!
hey sweets! remember, dont apologize for your mistakes. bus fail and plane fail = unnessesary! it just draws even more attention to the insignificants!
completely agreed, the only thing that these modern day vampire movies and tv shows have in common with the traditional idea of vampires is they both drink blood, thats it.
In one of my classes we were talking about vampires and I read that vampires seem to come in and out of style depending on the economy. In times of trial people like to relate to vampires becuase they are everything we're not, immortal, sexy, strong, powerful, influential. Gr8 interviews! Just sometimes you didnt hold the mike close enough to their mouths and I couldn't understand what they were always saying but it was very interesting to here peoples thoughts! :D
Don't like the subject of the interviews, but you are a gracious and professional interviewer. I really wouldn't change anything, you seem a lot more down to earth than most, and I think you are better than all the MuchMusic VJs.
okay, hopefully this helps you out for next time. you had a lot of good shots in there, but the first rule for doing interviews is to alternate sides back and forth to keep the movement fluid and interesting. what i mean by that is to switch the side of the interviewer and person. by going back and forth on this, it develops better quality, watch professional interviews, almost always the position of the microphone will change sides. hope this helps, good luck!
ROFL omg I knew it This same girl asked me and my friend at Oakridge mall if we knew anything about the Twilight series And I said "The only thing I know about Twilight, is that Taylor Laughtner is in it" didn't know a well known youtuber lived in Vancouver WEIRD would've been weird if they interviewed us though......... probably would've just spazzed about how hot Taylor is :)
Nadine you did great! but biggg tip that we have to stick to in theater all the time, so it's probably the same for something like this , hold the mic in the hand hand that's farther back (as in you probably should have had the mic in your left hand for this one b/c of the way you were standing) . it'll keep your body a lot straighter and it looks better. keep up the hard work!
wow that was your first interview! didnt even seem like it! you did really good. I really hope you win =) seems like your a natural at it already, i dont understand why they wouldnt pick you! good luck =)
I always hated interviews. I only ever did one band interview for the camera and I don't think it ever aired. I liked talking to bands but once the clock starts and you have to hit all the points on the list and the guy with the headphones is waving at you a lot of the fun when out of it. On the other hand, streeters aren't real interviews. They were a lot more fun. The trick is to go out and just get as much footage as you can and leave it all as a headache for the editor :D Ahhhh. Good times.
lol yea this is at oakridge. and new moon was filmed in my school in vancouver (David Thompson Secondary School) it was crazyyy during school time no 1 was allowed 2 walk around the halls since they were filming and tons of halls in my school were blocked off. tons of security
It's a good start. The more you do it the more you'll relax into it. I wouldn't worry about any negative comments. No one is that polished right out of the gate.
You got to remember to be friendly, but always remain NEUTRAL when interviewing ppl, like avoid making faces while they are answering, no matter how stupid they may be! hehehe if you've done this by yourself, Great Job! But it shows that you're nervous, doesn't suit you Nadine! Stay chill, like your regular videos, a good trick, talk a bit slower :) Hope you make it! Let us know on facebook if we need to vote anywhere else
Good job on this. Your on-camera presence is perfect! My only suggestions would be on how you shot and edited the footage. It's hard to hear you in the beginning shot when you don't have a microphone. The clips in front of the stairs are kind of jumpy looking; it looks like your interviewees are magically replacing each other on the screen. Maybe have the shots from different angles or locations, or find a transition to use?
ALSO, dont look at the camera when people are talking. As humans, we tend to shift our attention to whomever makes eye contact with us, so sitting here in my chair, I kept flitting my eyes to you instead of on the person talking.
It looks like in front of Oakridge mall. U know where theres the big space with the sign and a fountain thing and a bunch of oversized stairs? Vancouvers so awesome.
nadine from what i've seen from this i must say you're not taking this very seriously i know that "you're specialty" is the fun quirkiness but something about just seems a bit off-putting when you're an interviewer whatever i'm no expert on it you do whatever comes naturally and stick with it and i'm always supporting you all the way good luck
If you're going to interview more people then you should get a microphone. A lot of background noises disappear which means that you won't have to reshoot when there is a lot of noise in the background. Good luck with MuchMusic!
I like how you connect with the interviewees and follow up to what they say. That's extremely important as a journalist. You bring great energy to the interviews. That said, I think you should tone it down just a tiny bit.
Cool video, it was kinda like the Kassem G's "California on... " but a little more politically correct :P Anyway, you have great ideas and the video was fun, so I subscribed :)
Oakridge! Awesome. Nadine, I thought the interviews were really good but like rtard3000 said, you just need to relax and let your true personality shine through. I'm cheering for you all the way! NADINE FOR THE NEXT MUCH MUSIC VJ!!!! KaeliTheKool :)
Just one thing, you need to relax. I get the feeling that you are really nervous, and it doesn't feel natural. So just be yourself, it addes a pretty touch. Beside that everything is cool. I love your work! Keep up! ;)
Great video Nadine! The only thing I have to say is that at the beginning, you seemed almost too enthusiastic about what the people were saying, as if you weren't actually paying attention. You seemed a lot more genuine part way through. Good luck! : )
Are there no dislikers of Twilight in Canada? I was expecting at least one hater, but the best you got was indifferent. Oh well. Decent interview, Nadine.
You did a good work and keep up that smile it's always good to see a VJ smiling. But for your first time you did awesome but try not being shy it kinda shows. Best of luck and I hope you get the job!!!
You did an awesome job wow. This was really good. I'd love it if you would do this kind of stuff more in the future. It was really interesting just to hear what other people think about new moon. I hope you win! team jacob btw.
Good interview and interacting with the people and their answers! I thought you did a great job. You picked a topic that is EVERYWHERE. Everyone has an opinion on it. I subscribed just because I want you to get the VJ position. Good luck!
Nice job! It was obvious that you weren't actually asking anyone a question when it zoomed in on your face haha, but it was still good you asked good questions! good luck in the competittion!
I really hope you get the much music vj thing. The only thing I would say is to make your questions seem a little more natural and not as planned. BTW your outfit is uber cute.
You chose some great outfits if I might add firstly. They were cool and totally in for fall. I'd add a few musical transitions as well; like, a quick sound effect/musical note or something to block the changing noise for each scene. But great job overall.
team burn anything twilight related...saying that you were good for a first attempt the bus and plane fails kinda sucked but you admitted they were there and that was a good thing. i hope you or Andrew win, your both great and seeing any more of you guys would be great
i'm not talking about music, im talking about MUCH MUSIC. i actually remember when much music had GOOD music and intelligent VJ's. now it's mind numbing and dumbing down kids.
Team Nayders of course! I get this sort of awkward feeling watching the interview though. - Do not repeat what your subject just said, or say "Yea" and repharse what they said differently. - If you have nothing new to add to their response hit your next question. This keeps both of you from stuttering on the same topic. You want to always keep the interview moving forward so it's interesting to viewers. You're very energetic and bright though. I hope you win. :)
