Lemondude617 the band learned the arrival in may, and color guard has been working on flag work and various other things since the second week of july. We get pretty intense when it comes to show here at vandy (so ive been told lol)
It's not uncommon for "good" bands to start this early. My band, too, started working show music in May and our percussionists, color guard, and leadership team got to work the second week of July. The rest of the band came the next week. There is no secret to success. It's just hard just work.
Last year we here at Anderson did just the first movement of our show for Spring camp, but this year only the winds did because we had a couple licencing problems so Pit/Battery got their music a little later in the school year.
They get cuts from the music for band placement auditions (but they have reevaluations later) and then get the whole opener late May. They memorize after school lets out and then the drum line and guard start their season in July while the whole band starts August
Hi. This band is located in Austin, TX and is named Vandegrift****. It is in named after a fallen soldier that served in the Armed Services and attended another high school in our school district... Leander ISD
Daniel Mclinn please, tell that to the BOA Judges that placed them first overall and gave them the music caption last weekend in Conroe. Just because an ensemble makes Music sound easy doesn’t mean it is. Have a good day.
Daniel Mclinn bluecoats plays easy music that any highschool band can play besides the range issue. But you don't complain about that. And the difficulty doesn't matter cuz they still got 3rd at San Antonio
