This video was sent to me, and I only have a cursory understanding of who she is, but I have praises & criticisms. On the one hand, she seems like a nice enough woman & isn't covered in tacky piercings/tattoos; for a celebrity who grew up in the aughts, that is praise-worthy in itself. On the other, I don't understand the intent of the video. Is this meant for the nouveau riche or common people? It seems to be only helpful for those in her specific socio-economic bracket & who have similar moral convictions. In one moment, she has a valid criticism of immature behaviors commonly exhibited by men, at another expects each date to be a 'wining and dining' experience--a luxury likely unavailable to the majority who use dating websites or date socially, and in yet another presents her own preferences as universal concerns, i.e. "show me you have more substance than that"; that is to say, one ought not judge based solely on appearance, but she is doing it, and she must be well aware that physical appearance is valued in our culture; she's clearly pulchritudinous & is paid to display her beauty (this video being exhibit A), so maybe the Instagram men are proud of their bodies or gym progress as well. It's vapid & borderline hypocritical considering the background images passing by as she says this. Speaking of which, what is point of the fantasy retro photo shoot? Is this meant to placate the hoi polloi while we listen? This faux-sophistication is off-putting to me, even if she is trying to be a new money 'socialite'. At least it was worth watching & commenting. Thanks to the person who sent it.
