Saw her sing this in concert back in 2017, Had the crowd on its feet the whole time , sounds even better in person. Can't wait to see her again. The real queen. The Isley Brothers approve.
LOVE Vanessa Williams, she is a triple threat!!! Act. Sing. Dance. One word to describe her: RESILIENT. They tried to destroy and just like a monument, SHE'S STILL HERE!!! Salute,
@@miystiqueskillz2233 Thank you . I'm so tierd of these baby dj's talking about somebody being underrated its like this the only thing they can contribute to a conversation about an artist they clearly have no idea about
Damien Smith do your research. she has that recognition NOW but the black community didn’t really take to her music the way she hoped and she always dealt with being the light skin bitch everyone hates on
I Love The GROWL In Her Voice..... And We Have To Give A Shout Out To Dres Of Black Sheep On The Masterful Flow He Did... They Do Not Play This At All...
I like how you use it as motivation for family unfortunately too many sisters use songs like this for division instead of unification….. SALUTE 🫡 TO YOU & YOURS

Love this song... Just introduced my thirteen year old Son to this song and told him that this was what the beauty standard of my time... especially if you were Black...
I’m a huge fan, and this woman is and has made history!!! She is the first black Miss America!!! Vanessa has gone on to have an amazing career!! She is a beauty icon!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
At 14, you were my dream girl...At 52, the admirations remains and you are still my dream girl even after your marriages & motherboard...I love you for sentimental reasons...I am forever more than a fan..
I was working for a marketing agency during the day, Bennigan's at night and played this to death ... I was always so tired! This song kept me going! Thanks, Vanessa!
Omg Young Vanessa wuz fine as HELL!! Don't gimme wrong she still fine to this day but 1991 Vanessa??!? I can't even put it n words. Especially the scene when she climbing the ladder!
Yooo that ladder scene I INSTANTLY paused it and stared at her for so long, imagined her looking up at me and us about to do the nasty lol!! She looks so damn sexy, fine, beautiful right there, shii in this whole video!!
I always have loved the original Isley Brothers version of this song. Vanessa really did a good job remaking it. The collabo with Dres from Black Sheep made it even better. Although this video was made many years ago, it is still relevant or as I still like to say it's still fresh!
One of the best remakes equally as good as the Isley Brothers but on a different vibe the same lyrics that's what made it hot, Vanessa means God's butterfly and she definitely gives you heart flutters. And the butterflies and your stomach.
Adina Howard. not Alina, and that's when music first started to become progressively risque. but even prior to that some artists occasionally sneaked something kinky in their lyrics. Today entire Cd's need parental discretion stickers.
Who cares how to spell Adina's name? Her music was still very sexuall in nature, just as Prince's music was, along with acts like Vanity 6, Madonna, Lil' Kim, ect. Also, NWA and Tupac, and other "old school" gangster rap records have Parental Advisory stickers on them as well. At age 14, I happen to be a HUGE fan of "old school" music, but I hate when older people bad mouth my generations music, then turn around and try to cover up and make excuses for the old music. Remember, it is sexually charged artists from bad in the day, who paved the way for the Nicki Minaj's and Rihanna's and the "vulgar" and overtly sexual music we have today.....
Its not just about how to spell her name. Its also about saying it right. And the music for your generation does suck. Every now and then one of those untalented fools will get it right, but for the most part shit is WHACK!!!
After almost 30 years, this 1992 song is back.......I was in High School, in Grand Rapids Michigan, when this song came out...., shortly before moving back to Chicago in 1993..... Now in 2021 in New York City NY, I found it again on you tube.... Thank you very much ❤️
i've had a crush on this beautiful god given creature for 15 years .. . . and still to this day. . . . i don't see how Rick Fox. . left this woman years ago
TODAY IN MUSIC HISTORY: September 26, 1992 - 26 Years Ago Today: Vanessa Williams (featuring Black Sheep) debuted at No. 96 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with the single, "Work To Do." This O'Kelly Isley,Jr.-Ronald Isley-Rudolph Isley-penned song was the 5th Hot 100 single lifted from Williams' second studio album, "The Comfort Zone," which was certified triple-Platinum. [09/26/2018]
Other than the songs I sang at the Kingdom Hall, this one is probably the first song I remember singing. My dad loves Vanessa Williams and I'm glad I was introduced to her music because I don't know very many people who even know she is, let alone her music!
Oh my God, I remember our neighbour in Uyo, Nigeria playing The Comfot Zone CD on high volume, and I'd sing along. He always skipped when it got to Save The Best For Last though.
