Total cost breakdown: 10 Quality vanilla beans - $12 on Amazon 4 5oz Bottles - $5 on amazon Liquor used - roughly $14 - had it all on hand and I used mostly good stuff :) you don't need to use super high quality alcohol 20 OZ In store = $80 minimum but likely closer to $120-$150 for ehhh quality! This Makes better quality extract and is a fun experiment! Excited to see how they develop!
@@mikeymac7867 good question! Around 35-45% is the sweetspot! I go in the middle at 40%. The difference is hardly noticeable but anything to high or low will actually make the product too intense or less flavorful
@@mikeymac7867 heck yeah! It makes a great gift too because you can just keep topping off the bottle as it gets lower and it's literally a gift that keeps giving lol
Heck yes. I make my vanilla with corn vodka. It’s nearly 14 months old now and insanely good. I made it 2-3x normal strength because vanilla 🤤 Can’t wait to see how your results turn out!
Where is it costing you that much? Lol.. Amazon has it for $10 for beans which is where i bought mine.. and I already had the liquor and you use only a small amount in each bottle lol. All in all it's significantly cheaper!
I cam see how it's better than store bought but cheaper? Considering TIME is valuable and I can legit buy it at a dollar store.. yeeeaaa even if I had the alchohol and beans on hand already, the time alone makes it much more costly.
Time spent working on things is costly.. however this sits in a pantry and takes none of your attention therefor it has no impact on your times value! Time spent making this was 15 minutes. And dollar store extract is imitation and not real vanilla extract. Real extract is anywhere from 8-14 bucks for 2 oz and this is much cheaper
Yup! Takes a min of 6 months and is best at 1 year! Takes some time but we'll worth it when you get the end result. Spend 15 mins making it then pop it in a pantry or cabinet for awhile and check back later! If ypu have the patience you'll get the best extract possible and for so much cheaper!
@@janlord9760 exactly haha! You can jump start it by adding a splash of store bought to it, but I prefer not! It'll be ready in 6 months, better at 9, and amazing at 12! The beauty of this is you can always top it off with more booze and it's a bottomless bottle that requires an occasional extra bean added :)
