I was born in 79 and totally agree. I know it's cliched to say "back in my day" but it's the truth. We had so much fun doing things. My oldest son was playing Xbox for the 8 straight hour. I told him I understand that he has fun playing games with people around the world. We actually went and experienced things though. Sometimes we did dumb things sometimes we got hurt or in trouble. But at the end we learned consequences and rewards, while picking up life skills. We played Nintendo but it was only the center of our activities when we stayed overnight at our friends. I got my first kiss when we were running around the neighborhood and ran into some girls at the park. Couldn't have happened if I was playing video games by myself.

Same, I graduated HS in 85. A lot of my friends loved him, but I never liked the whole persona. Then I went to race MX down in Miami, probably late 90's, and Vanilla Ice is there. At the rider meeting he raised his hand to ask a question. I was expecting, yo yo yo, what dis bout type of crap. What I heard was intelligent, respectable, thought out question just like in this interview. I instantly realized it was all an act and he did it for the money, knew what he was doing all along. My entire perspective of him changed that day. Saw him at many race days after that. He always had a handful of kids that would follow him around and he was always nice to every one of them. One of these days I might even have to watch Ninja Turtles!
