Vanilla Ice is a personal role model of mine. I ride a motorcycle because of him and the Terminator. I ride a cruiser for Arnold and a Kawasaki Ninja for my boy Vanilla. If it wasn't for the Album "Hard to Swallow" I probably wouldn't have been able to get through some horrible times I had in life. Thankfully my life isn't like that much anymore, more of a "Mind Blowin" and "Hot Sex" or "To The Extreme" most of the time. I love you Vanilla, never change bro.
Mad respect for Rob Vanwinkle. Extremely intelligent and humble & honest as it gets. Love his advice about how to NEVER take life too serious. LOVE his show The Vanilla Ice Project. Dude's passion for designing not flipping as I thought before watching this interview, is just amazing and will wow you.
Rob, don't know if you'll ever even read this. But you survived some crazy stuff in the 90s and after yet, came out on top. We are of the same generation and when Ice Ice Baby came out, I was growing up in the northeast and every single one of my black, white and hispanic friends were blasting that song out of the woofers in their trunk like crazy. You were on fire and no one can deny or take that away from you! I'm glad to see where you've ended up and are happy in life with your family! In the end, that's all that really matters. God bless brother and keep the positive flowing! A friend from the 90s generation....
I fucking love that dude.and that song is still as DOPE as it was back then.calling the radio stations all day trying to get through to request that song even though they played it all day
Best Vanilla Ice interview on YT. The interviewer it good too. He asked a question, let Vanilla talk and interjected at the right moments to keep the dialogue going. Can't help but like Vanilla and how mellow he is as a person.
Loved the trophies!! I remember presenting him with a trophy back in ‘95 or ‘96 for winning his first motocross race at the Palm Beach Motocross track!
I don’t think this guy gets enough credit for just still being here. I can’t imagine the entire country criticizing me and dealing with what he did and coming out on top with his own TV show. This is what makes him a legend IMO
"I'm not a white rapper by the way, I'm a rapper. You don't label music with colors, it's made for your ears, not your eyes." Preach, Ice! 👏 I have so much respect for this dude. Everyone tried to bring him down but in the end he came out on top and he's living his best life.
One thing that He said that hit home; I had a boss once that was spending a huge amount in his home and interior in a time where money wasn’t going around as easily. He said “when you’re poor living check to check where you gonna be? Home right?” I said yes that is true. He said “then that better be a palace, your sanctuary so it better be a place where you can be comfortable, proud and live in!” That always made sense.
This was a great interview! Someone who is real! I have been a fan from day 1. Always followed your success from hitting hard times and getting right back on your feet.
Love how ice is real with everything! Especially when he said, "I ain't a white rapper!" I don't see color! Dude has a great story Congratulations Vanilla Ice!! On your success!!
I'm soooooooo proud of this guy main. Stayed true, stayed on his grind, kept sharpening his mind, good interview fosho. I didn't even know i needed this interview buuuut I did....thanks 😊
After I pressed the like button, I noticed that the name of the channel is Vanilla Ice and it's Rob himself. Very nice. Here in the Netherlands, the Vanilla Ice project is now on tv, and the positivity, the fun and play, the constructive energy. It's as sunny as the Florida weather.
I am 46. I would do the same thing. I went to movies to see Breaking. I absolutely loved the 90's....CRAZY TIME!!!! Skating Rink We would BATTLE ......Wish I could go back sometimes
Vanilla Ice is an AWESOME DUDE and he's REAL and that's rare, esp during pop culture and the beginning of hip hop, which I love. I remember my friends and I would ride on the car doors, leaning on the car top going down 59 in Houston, jamming to Ice Ice Baby! It was an exceptional time in history, in my opinion! He's still gorgeous as he was back then, even more so now, plus more importantly, he's A TRUE BLUE MAN! VERY TALENTED! LOVE YOU VANILLA ICE‼️
i hope to see you again in Czech Republic , the security doesnt alowed me to get subscibe from you on my KTM hat, but anyway the show was super great! Thanks! it was the year 2005 i think Vanilla 4 ever big up !
I was in high school when he's album came out and experience The Ice Age movement! It was fkg awesome even to today! He reminds me of Gene Simmons from Kiss, still alive and so smart about the way they view life in general as realist. The people who truly understood the difference between what is fame, fictions and life itself! They live to tell the tail! Respect man!
Amazing interview, for one hour you make me back in time when in 90-92 I was playing your record on every single night, almost. You guys mark the 90s !
I bought the album Hard to Swallow the day it was released. Still have it in my car right now. If u haven't heard it go get it. Not the easiest album to get physical copy of though. But it's dark and heavy. GOOD ALBUM
For every great movement and success, there's always someone either trying to cash in on it or treat it down. Still one of my favorite tunes from the day.
Been a fan of Vanilla Ice since the beginning. STILL a fan of Vanilla Ice to this day. That said? I loved Hard to Swallow. Despite people hating on that record, I love it! I bought it the day it was released back in October of 1998. When I found out my favorite producer (Ross Robinson) produced it, it made me love it even more! I honestly wish Ice would do more metal stuff. I'd love to hear it!
It's still INSANE!!!! how the song blew up and BLEW THE DOORS OFF THE WORLD!! The Bside was played by a DJ and..... BAM!!!! My fave song of the LP was and is HOOKED!!! I remember I hadn't hear the LP since I had the tape in '90 (my brother did) Once I saw Vanilla Ice Project.... I got stuck on watching that show and while having a but of Rum or Gin... I was "Lemme rock that!" N went on YT! As soon as i heard those songs again! I was GAWDDAMN!!!!! His LP was FIRE!!!! it sucks that sooooo many people just ICE ICE.... But there are sooo many gems on there! I've met maybe 2 people EVER!!!! that when I sing RAAAAHHH REY RU... REEE RAY RAH!!! And they can finish it
Ice Baby and You Can’t Touch This, great 90’s music for the Ice Rink. Growing up going Ice Skating, they’d often play Ice Baby and was a favourite for many skaters. Even today still like to listen while on the ice, although not played as frequently like in the 90’s, I ask DJ to play it at even Discos… Epic!
I was watching your video of ice ice baby. My girl is Asian . She 36 and she knew every single step that you and your dancer did. I didn’t even know she ever heard of you. I remember you telling the story about suge I’m from southie I worked for a southie crew who had to pay tributes to Whitey Bulger . I be so angry you could fry a egg on my head. We knew he was blowing the FBI and we didn’t want him to have the FBI in our business. Whitey reminded me of suge . A the gulf war broke out so it was my way to escape it. But you had to deal with that. I’m sorry man you are a excellent talent and great job on the mansions. Stay safe.
I graduated HS in '91. It was different back then for sure. Music doesn't drop the same and young people of today miss out. With no internet, everywhere you went as a teenager this was playing in your car, everyone's car, the mall, the arcade, etc. This was before Nirvana and I believe that this song not only pushed hip-hop into dominance, but it was also the 1st death nail for hair metal too.
Still a awesome entertainer ! Thank you for a great show , I'm a huge fan . I hope to get to meet you you some day ! Blessings to you guys keep up the great work !
Ninja Turtles are still in my kids generation now. Ice was right....I remember the day I heard ICE ICE BABY. THEY CALLED ME VANILLA in school. Was my nickname...Lmao
For a 16 year old kid to write that!!!! That's DEEP!!! even my songs at 20 something were no where near as descriptive and sooo well done!!! Hes a PRO!!! there is and ONLY EVER WILL BE 1... ICE!.... And that's Vanilla!!! Cube and T I LOOOVVEEEE!!!! but he KING'd the ICE in the name of an MC
Love his story ,love the bands he liked , parliament, zapp, ect. , his lyrics are dope.,so glad to see he is happy and healthy, I've always was a fan from the beginning.👏 I had a pogostick lighted fish tank with floating fish ,and drove around looking for ladies ,listening to ,ice ,ice, baby.
