80/90s No social media, no crappy cancerous Facebook, People were free, you actually had to go out to meet your friends, get food, movies, Playing outside all day was epic.
The 80s & 90s could never truly be explained. You just had to be there to understand. From the music, to the movies, the house parties, to staying out late. It was all that, and more.
The 80's was something else. Especially, 86'. However, I think the 50's and 80's were the peak times in America. Followed by the 60's and 90's. 2000 to present is just horse shit.
80s and 90s were the greatest, no cell phones, parents whipped our ass, people still got punched in the mouth and most of all no diseased social media!!!! I remember buying this album and still have it, no racism no nothing, everyone had fun together, graduated in 97 and still have every friend I had then except a couple that we tragically lost!!! Kids today have no idea what fun is or what morals and self discipline is, God Bless n stay safe!!!
@@georgesykes394 Vanillia Ice said in Ken Block video that he ovned IROC-Z Camaro before 5.0 Foxbody but every 5.0 beated his IROC so he sold IROC and bought that 5.0 :D
Unless the IROC was a 350 there's no way the weak sauce 305 would take a properly driven 5.0 5 speed. Things changed though in 93. GMs new f-body twins were killing the mighty 5.0. Ford caught them again with the Cobra in 99. Drivers race. But when the Cobra got a supercharged 4.6 in 03 (Terminator) - if helped to literally kill the Camaro/Firebird....for 5 years anyways.
Does anyone else miss the 80s and early 90s the music the movies just life everything was so much easier and the music definitely, definitely better no question about it
@@michaelmcmahon3383 oh yeah the music we grew up with didnt matter to me if it was rock rap country it didnt matter it literally defined our generation
I was born Feb. 1980 it's crazy how much has changed..I remember being a kid and summer time every kid in my neighbor hood would be out from 8- 7 riding bikes , playing street hockey, baseball anything..and we had about 20 kid's out all the time. I live in a better neighbor hood now and rarely see kid's out...like I told my wife on Christmas look out side there are no kid's playing, that day everyone would be out early showing of what they got.
@@grant8490 Not really. In fact a child is more likely to be assaulted by a family member or someone their parents trust than to be snatched off the street by a stranger.
Born in 71 and I totally agree the 80's and 90's were the best decades especially when it comes to movies, music, fashion and BMX racing and freestyle bikes : )
Remember when as a kid, we could actually play outside all day without our parents freaking out about where we were? Life has changed for the worse these days.
@ARTHUR Moore I traded my sister my guns and roses appetite for destruction cd for to the extreme when I was 16 that was 21 years ago and many many systems ago. I still have the CD and the system I can't ever use unless I'm alone in family car I still bang this CD "shells falling" I've become my dad lol but I still hang on to youth thanks to vanilla ice. The old school music I can handle. Anything before 2003!
I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s...never liked Vanilla Ice’s stuff. In some strange way watching this video kinda gave me a different outlook on him and/or his music back then. I’m not sure why exactly...maybe because I can identify with his comments about those great times. And boy, they really were! Nice looking Car Ice, glad you were able to get her restored! Mad props to you!
He nailed it. We try to get our kids out of the house and when I was a kid in the 90's I always remembered rushin home when it was getting dark so I would not get in trouble. Technology is a double edged sword that only seems to cut one way.
The 80's and 90's era were the bomb and there will never be another like it. The music, movies, fashion, art, cars, and the woman were AWESOME back in the day. No doubt! And Vanilla Ice, that is an amazing and beautiful Ford 5.0 Mustang car. God bless you and your family, sir.
Hell ya ? Everything about the 90's was the best it could possibly be. Cars, Music... Amazing Mustang. Definitely one to get teared up over. Thanks for sharing.
Ive always like this guy and he is still current today. Who would of known his love of poetry and the fact he was a motorcross champion and renovation king. He keeps reinventing himself and thats clever, not many people can do that. Most importantly he remains humble to this day and continues to be the peoples champion. I would love to see him and Chuck Zito in a business venture together or in a movie. I hope he visits Australia again becuase we love him out here
Vanilla ice was always down to earth his music along with my Hammer and young Mc and tone loc were the best of the late 80s and early 90 pop culture I wish I had a time machine right now
I had a white 1991 5.0 Mustang with red letters I put on. GT hatchback model. I was skinny back then, but the person before me did some modifications where I ripped the seat back out of the flooring because of the power it had. I learned to drive it in the rain as it had a manual transmission. My first car was a red 4 cylinder 1993 Mustang. But this video made me smile so if you ever read this Vanilla bean latte just know that my dad got mad when I came home with your hair cut one day when your video came out. I was born in 1984.
I agree with Vanilla Ice 100000% the 90s was the best decade period. I grew up in that decade, I was a teenager in the latter half of it and it was all the best! So happy as a OG fan to see the 5.0 restored!
Nice to see him so happy and comfortable in his own skin. Things got dark for a little while after his initial run with fame, but it looks like he’s come out the other side. He should be proud of that, it’s not easy.
The 80s and 90s were the greatest time in the world. I miss it so much and it’s great to see how Vanilla Ice is in the same career as and he’s actually extremely good at creating some beautiful homes. Good for him and I’m proud of him
ICE ford owes you, they should give u a brand new Ford Mustang FREE for all you’ve done for ford because of u ICE fords sales for mustangs skyrocketed 👍 that’s a beautiful 5.0
That's not how business works though.. If he freely promoted the brand then that's his managers fault. Ice should've had Ford's sponsorship. That's what happens when you have a poor manager that doesn't know how to promote you. In fact, his managers may have done a deal with Ford without his knowledge. He probably didn't even know why the lyrics said, "rollin in my 5.0," he just rapped the lyrics that someone else wrote for him to perform. The guy was a puppet.
@@sedric405 Thats a fact! The newer cars are too tempermental and expensive to maintain. Foxbody, those things stick to K.I.S.S.! Plus, they are a blast to drive. I had one with a T56...i really regret selling it.
I was born in 1981 and man I truly feel.blessed to have been I high-school in the 90's what an incredible time Bush parties house parties dirt bikes four wheelers snowmobiles hockey sports and some super fun times !!!! Thanks ice for bring us back down memory lane !
@Nathan Hale I also lived and was driving in the 90's. Who cares if the slang is from now or then! But thank you for noticing that, over all you did get what I meant. Have a good day.
I think that’s one of my favorite body styles regarding the year differences, especially the front grill and rear taillights. The red 1982 GT hatchback with the black inserts just had a look.
Back in 1999, I bought a 90 LX 5.0 It was Vortec supercharged with heads, intake and cam with straight pipes. It was the loudest, baddest car I ever had. That thing would beat almost any car on the road and was a blast to drive, even just to the grocery store. This mustang resto was well done.
IM 55, and his entire career came and went and I didn’t noticed him at all. Yes, I knew of him and his songs. But IM recognizing him now, been binge watching his life and interviews. What an interesting life of fame and working hard
Love Vanilla Ice! He brought Hip Hop to a cultural phenomena! His contributions to rap paved the way for many other artists like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and Snoopy Dog. He's a pioneer much like how Justin Timberlake was for R & B. 😃🇺🇸
Idk how much way he paved for those guys as they paved their own way. But I think he's a great dude and deserves his spot in pop culture history to be viewed in a positive light. Ice ice baby too cold 💯
I loved being a teenager in the 90's, He is right, there was no better decade to be young in than the 90's. They saved the best of the century for the last of it.
Yeah we have enough people here, as some congressmen would say... it might just brake off the United States if we keep having so many people come here... Or was that an island sinking? Hell I dont know, all I can say is, since the 1980's I've been watching a steady influx of folks coming here, and we have too many as is... especially New Yorkers.
I hate when I see people talking trash about ice. I was there when he came out everybody had his tape playing the shit out of it. I still think he can dance better than most. Ice you have more fans than you'll ever know.
Yeah, I remember when people turned on the guy. Started talkin shit all of a sudden and I was tellin em, "Man, you were just playin that shit last week! You own the album." I didn't care, I just on kept playin what I liked, no matter what anyone thought of em.
The 80’s and 90’s: no cell phones, staying out very late, muscle cars were slow af, and most of us didn’t have central air yet! Glad I got to experience it.
I had a 1982 Corvette I bought used in 1984 it was my baby I was 19 when I bought it and the 80s will always have great memories If I hear journey or duran duran or prince purple rain and definitely run dmc it takes me back to those days in my Vette with a girl beside me cruising. Times were a lot different we didn't have cell phones we just had our spots we hung out and it was special. Old days to us was messing with our parents about growing up in the 50s it hurts a little to look back because it's part of growing older and knowing it's gone but now we are the older ones and we share our stories with our grandchildren. Goes by to fast
Dude you said you feel like a teenager?? Dude you still look like a teenager!! You never age !! You’ve always been my idol !! Keep up the fun your having !! I loved when you rode motocross!! My brother is 54 and kicking ass on a yz 450 f !!!
In gods name why would you cover that beautiful motor that is super charged with a piece of white flat plastic anybody who told you that looks good is delusional the car is beautiful and you hide the most amazing part and you’re talking about the 90s that’s when everybody showed off those motors they were proud of that little V-8 under the hood and you hide it with a piece of flat white plastic please think about that. I spent the 90s in night clubs listening to your music and it was great but I own a blown 5 L Mustang and that motor is it’s pride and joy the car has been completely restored and I wish I could drive around without a hood on to show it off even more but I live in British Columbia and the cops don’t like that so please man use that piece of white plastic like the frisbee it is and throw it away.
@Anthony PUKY D Holland at the end of the day it's still a pos honda that only teens care about. That clapped out shitbox wont even run in 5 years. Nobody searching for hondas while foxbodies are steadily going up in price....and it wouldn't have drug anything back then because hondas were 95 hp grocery getters that old people drove. Type r's werent around other than for an integra, and they had a whopping 190hp....lol
@Anthony PUKY D Holland he said he has a blown 5.0 and it's restored and he wants to drive around without a hood... so im pretty sure it's not stock🤣🤣🤣🤣.... keywords: restored, blown, wants hood off to show
I still have my 1989 GT 5.0 that I drove off the showroom floor back in the day. Neither marriage nor children could get rid of that bad boy. The car has been modified and is very loud but it could use some TLC. But I’d rather have that than some POS rice burner with coffee can mufflers 🤣
80’s and 90’s were the best time in all of history! So glad I got to live through it! So much better than the crap that is the present! Play that funky music white boy!!!
It’s amazing how a car like the 5.0 foxbody can bring back so many memories. I sit in mine and just chill sometimes. The smell of my coconut/ vanilla trees hanging from the mirror send me back into the 90’s
@@newking70 he is no fool though he makes big dollars doing many things plus his music, that car is worth more than 150 because it's the original car in the video
@@lawn2learn you can have a limited edition Saleen from Ford off the show room floor with the new 5.0 coyote motor for less than $85000 ...so you tell me why would you spend $150,000 on a restored pos .....lol.....
Ice. I'm very pleased you made it thru the troubles and into a place in life where your happy and love your life. I'm envious. I'm 50 now and I'm still not there man. I still hate my life a lot of the time. I still have to fight just to find reasons to keep trying. I wish I felt half as good as you feel about yourself.
