Yeah the world record is 3m43 and I'm in second place with 3m56. Overarching strategy is largely the same but I came up with some variations and methods of my own. Thanks man!✌
@@2emo2function Yeah the struggle is real , best of luck man. I'll never forget beating it for the first time back in the day on x360. Took me quite some time as well but it was a blast. That adrenaline rush ! Best of luck man, have fun and don't burn yourself out. Rome wasn't build in a day. ✌
Today I finished challenge 6 and man it's so much harder than challenge 4. I had to use ARS trainer(from nexus mods) in order to finish this challenge.. great job man 👍 You're the best vanquish player
Nice ! Yeah it definitely is. The other challenges are set to normal difficulty but in 6 you'll take damage equal to playing on hard. And the Bogey's AI and speed are on God Hard but they take damage equal to normal difficulty.😆 Good stuff, thanks man ! If you're interested, Vnichiro and MoluJPN also have some great tactical challenge run vids. ✌
@@ZikosRealm how to shoot the shotgun so fast? Also can't figure out how to throw EMP fast when overheating. I shoot the shotgun but it almost never connects on Bogey, so tired of using it.
@@meraclechamlotte9291 I don't shoot the shotgun faster then normal but cancel the slow reload animation. To do this, hit reload and wait untill you see reload in red letters on screen. Then switch to another fast unfolding weapon like HMG or AR and quickly switch back. This can be done in the same way with all fast unfolding weapons. The fastest way to drop an EMP is while sliding but that doesn't work when overheating. Fastest way to just throw a grenade is by holding aim while throwing. This cancels the throwing recovery animation. Hope it helps.
i got the platinum trophy for this game over a decade ago so seeing this brings back a lot of memories. This challenge along with #4 back in my day were considered the most difficult challenges and was what stopped people getting the 100% for the game. Im proud that i was able to do it and definitely wont be able to do it again at this point in my life lol.
Really cool. That's definitely an achievement you can be proud of. Reading your message brings back memories of my first time back in 2010 too. Spent a lot of time on challenge 6 and also never did anything that difficult up untill that point. Was super intense but very satisfying in the end. ✌
Yeah it's really tough at first but also insanely rewarding when you finish it. Getting more comfortable with the bogey bosses in 5-3 helps a lot with taking the edge of for when you finally face them in round 5. I'd often practice on them for a bit before doing a challenge 6 run.
🙏 Thanks. I would probably finish the game on Hard a couple of times to get more comfortable and experiment a little before seriously trying Challenge 6. You can always take a look and see what it's like if you're curious. It takes some dedication to win, so try to take it easy, try to slowly improve. You can try learning some of the methods I use, especially standing in the safe spot in round 3, or maybe when to throw the EMP in the air at the start of round 4. Those make a big difference causing less failures, even if it's not perfect. As soon as you can somewhat consistently reach round 5, I can recommend to practice against the final bosses in chapter 5-3. Learn their moves and behaviour so it's less stresfull when you face them in challenge 6. Maybe fight against them every time before trying challenge 6 untill you're more comfortable. I usually play on Hard but the final boss in challenge 6 moves at ''God Hard'' speed. Luckily their health is only like normal. I made a tutorial for Vanquish tricks but it's only in English.
Do you know in which chapter does challenge 6 take place? I wanna check all the cover spots since I always die on Challenge 6 because I can't find cover to save my life.
Awesome fuckin playing. Was checking this out again. Seeing if I can learn anything for when I try this challenge again. I noticed a rocket launcher appeared at some point. Does that spawn in later? I never found that in the arena. Been waiting on a working HDD as my HDD only records sometimes.
One of the drill Romanov's in round 3 drops the rockets. When you're facing the pangloss statue from the starting point, it's the one on the left, next to the Rocket type Romanov. It's recommended to save the upgrade from the Crystal Viper to refill that launcher later on. The blue Bogey in round 5 also drops rockets but it's best to go after the red one first because he's much more dangerous.
How do you loop the Bogey and how do you not get wrecked by the other Bogey while doing it? How come your shotgun does so much damage to them? Any tips on how to shoot the shotgun to deal more damage?
I show two different ways to do the loop in my tutorial. You have to be close enough to bait it's melee attack when it gets up again, otherwise it doesn't work. It's also important to wait or time your final shotgun hit, the one that puts them down again, untill just after they finish that melee animation. Easiest way to do it is to get close when a Bogey is down and start shooting the HMG while baiting their melee. Continuously fire for as long as you feel comfortable during their wake-up melee, then hit the reload button before switching to the shotgun, and shoot that final shot just after they finish their melee animation. Now it's down again and you can switch back to HMG. The magazine is filled again if you did it right. I'd recommend to try this method first to get a better understanding because using the shotgun exclusively requires more fast reload cancels and better timing.
The pink bogey is the most dangerous one. If you want to be fast like in a speedrun, it's best to ignore the blue for as long as you can. It's purple homing laser attack doesn't instantly kill you so there's time to react if you have to. My damage output is normal. The Bogey's in challenge 6 only have hitpoints equal to normal difficulty but their movement speed and AI is equal to God Hard.
@@ZikosRealm what's the difference between the bogeys AI on hard and god hard? I only noticed that the homing lasers still hurt me even when I'm taking cover on that final boss mission on god hard.
@@ZikosRealm I miss all the time with LFE. Can you analyze why I totally suck at using the LFE? I'll record a video of me playing and can not get used to the LFE at all. At what range does it start to work and stop working? Know any good location to practice the robo-balls? Those rolling ball machinegun enemies. What's the best mission to practice them? I never remember to dodge when playing either, I would constantly get distracted by me failing to hit the enemy or getting hit stunned without me realizing then auto AR. 😅 How do you not get flanked and die from a melee attack?
@@meraclechamlotte9291 There are 2 of those spheres / ball enemies in the hallway at the start of 2-3 nightmare for easy practice. There's also an LFE gun in the rack close to where they spawn. Only takes one shotgun or LFE hit to stun them when they're rolling, and one shot to destroy them while they're exposed. From mid range, HMG also takes em out fast. LFE has a big hitbox and the orb damages everything in it's path for as long as it's visible. Works from close range almost like a shotgun as well. Yeah I can check out some of your gameplay but it sounds like you just need to invest more time to experiment and practice. ✌
Wouldn't recommend it personally if you want to beat it fair and square, but I guess it might help some players who just want to get it done or only care about getting the trophy.
I try to do the platinum. Man this is gona be hard 😂 but I try it anyway. I'm currently on my hard play trough of the story and I kinda suck any tips how to get better?
It's all good, we all have to start somewhere. I made a tutorial for Vanquish showcasing most of the tech and tricks we can pull off. Just go with the flow on your first playthroughs, familiarize yourself with the controls, and start experimenting whenever you see fit. There's a lot to soak in so try to incorporate only a few new things at a time. I Can def recommend to learn the ''boost dodge'' & ''reload cancel'' techniques early on to build muscle memory, and experiment with various weapons to learn about knockback & hitstun. Have fun and let me know if you have any specific questions. ✌
