Thanks for the review Steve. I've ordered one of these chargers (should have came yesterday) hopefully today. There was another review where the guy had trouble locking in AAA batteries so I feel this is down to bad design on the unit. Luckily, i purchased this soley for my wireless computer mouse which uses AA (batteries which i've also ordered Duracell rechargeable 2500 mah. Again thanks for the review and if I may ask how is the charger performing?

I've seen the other review that you mentioned where the guy had problems with the AAA's popping out, I can honestly say that I've not had that problem although I must admit that I mainly charge AA's. Overall I'm really impressed with this unit, I've used it a couple of times a week on average over the last 6 or 7 months and it's never let me down.
Thanks for the quick response. My charger arrived and agree that the lightweight material makes it feel cheap but if it does the job i'm happy. I did put some cheap rechargeable (AA) I purchased from poundland and it charged them instantly so I don't think cheap batteries work well with this charger which is fine with me. I purchased some duracell AA 2500mah so i think they will be perfect for the job I got them for. Regarding the AAA issue that guy had I have to admit that i tried AAA in the charger and had no issue whatsoever so he could have had a bad unit. Anyhow, thanks again for the inf.
Also if you put your ear near this charger when its charging. listen to the "tick.. tick.. tick.tick.." sound it makes.. its actually switching the charge on and off so it can measure the batteries voltage to determine when its full! very good charger for the price of 9$ (for me on amazon anyways. Theres 2 exact same by different venders but one is a lot cheaper but theres only a few left in stock. of the same brand charger "Hie")
i guess he thought charging AAA's was bad because he might of put the batteries in the hard way by doing negative connection first. its infinitely easier to do positive connection first. then push down on the negative end. For AAA's that is. AA's can be put in the normal way. Works great/fine for me. Mine was 9$ on amazon but branded "Hie" instead of Vapex. exact same thing. possibly different circuitry inside but same casing. Really got a good deal!!!! 12v 1A power supply came with my unit FREE basically! The packaging could be a bit better perhaps but thats what you get when you buy directly from china. shipped from china.. At least it got here in once piece.. Display lights up too which is great in dim rooms. Tested all the slots and they all work. but take note.. AAA's will be charged at the same rate as AA's. so if you put a dead AAA in by itself and wait for it to charge it could take only 5-15 minutes!!! because 2 amps directly into an AAA is insane. but my batteries seem to actually stay cool at end of charge!!! Barely warm. A single Flat AA charged to full = battery was barely warm at all. and the voltage read 1.441v fresh off the charger and stayed at about 1.42v 30 minutes later. really great deal. charges fast and doesnt heat up the batteries
