VarAC is a new addition to the ham radio digital modes. It operates similarly to FT8 and has additional features, like file transfer and real time communications, making it an attractive option for operators. VarAC, VARA HF, is a digital mode that uses highly efficient error correction techniques to ensure reliable communications even in weak signal conditions. It offers faster data transfer rates and lower power consumption compared to other modes like PSK31 and RTTY.

Nice QSO, Rich! I worked W0LEN on FT8 a little while back. This VARAC is pretty cool! I installed it this morning and have made a few QSOs already. I haven't posted them to HRDlog just yet, though. I can see this mode is much more useful than JS8CALL. Its true that all I hear on JS8CALL is usually a heartbeat message. VARAC does so much more! Yes, I am running the paid VARA version with a Xiegu G90 aroun12 - 15 watts. This is a fun mode (for me) that has helping to shape the way I will operate in the future. Dont feel like the Lone Ranger. I spent months trying to get the stuff to workover the air. I could send stuff over the internet with it just fine but would lock up and give me errors when connected to radio. That was over a year ago with new laptop and ft991a. someday ill clean off the dust and try and start over. so much has evolved since then.

@fjhoosier That was the exact same situation for me as well. I could send my friend email over the internet, and it worked fine. I got so frustrated with it I don't see myself trying it again.
