Varenna is an essential stop for anyone wishing to visit one of the most typical and quite towns of the lake. A must if you are in Milan. The best and fastest way to get in Varenna is to take Train from Milano Centrale - Tirano. It's just 3 stops [ Monza-Lecco-Varenna ]. Ticket cost 6.70 euro 2nd class [one way]. If you are visiting Milan , Varenna is definitely worth a visit it's just an hour from Milano Centrale Railway Station ticket cost 6.70 euro one way. Thanks for the video, which brought my memories back from 2006 when I spent several days and nights here. I stayed at Hotel Olivedo, and enjoyed my time in this heavenly beautiful town. I miss the ferry call each morning, "Ballagio! Menaggio!"

Thanks so much for posting this....We walked Varenna just like this in the hot August 0f 2018...one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Fabrizio who owns Al Barilott bar is a great guy...he has a Wallabies Rugby Jersey on the wall!!!!!!!

If you wanted to enjoy varenna make sure to go in weekend. Every 1 hour there is train going to varenna from Centrale Milano, if you wanted to explore more town in como just purchase 1 day ticket cost 15 euro ( from varenna boat station ) you can hop and hop town you want to visit.
