I am listening them first time in my life today. I "found" them in "AvaxHome" pages and ... And I'm very pleased listening the music. I don't think that are bad times for blues. Just the opposite I think we are amazing times blues!
I couldn't disagree more with you. Bobby Alexander (the singer) is one the best voices that The Blues has given in the last twenty years. I was lucky enough to see him in concert in the late nineties and he certainly didn't disappoint. You can check him out in other videos here on youtube, such as "Madrid-Memphis", "She loves Me Over Time ("as the second voice in that song), "Scratch Me Back", "Back Alley Blues" or Steppenwolf's cover "Born To Be Wild".
This particular song makes it difficult for the singer to bright. In certain passages the lyrics are spoken rather than sung in my opinion. That's why you might have had that negative impression. However, I have followed him for a long time and I can assure his register and versatility are both impressive. Greetings
